The page was white. Whiter than a vampire's teeth after brushing.
There was a silence so deep, even the ticking of a clock would've gotten lost in it…
If there was a clock.
There wasn't.
Ethan stared at the page. The pen was still raised.
But he hadn't written a thing.
Why?
Well… 'cause no one had told him what his truth was supposed to be.
"Guys…" Ethan's voice wavered. "What if my truth is that… I don't know what truth even means?"
Alice chuckled. "That's a truth too, oh wise philosopher."
Selena, trying to pop an invisible balloon with her tongue, said,
"Well, just write: 'I don't know.' Maybe the page will tell us what to do!"
Ethan smirked and mumbled under his breath, "Or maybe the page turns into a monster and eats us for cheating…"
Fayra said, "Don't worry. If it eats you, I'll just build another you. One with a better personality."
