Just as Julissa seemed lost in her own world, a hand reached out to touch her forehead in concern.
"Oh no, you're terribly feverish."
Julissa finally snapped out of her daze, only feeling a wave of weakness overcome her. She shook her head, her voice raspy as she said, "Mother, 'm not thirsty."
Madam Harvey released a silent sigh of relief and took out an ear thermometer to measure Julissa's temperature.
"Thank goodness your fever has subsided. You've been asleep all day. You scared us to death," lamented Madam Harvey helplessly.
"Now that you're awake, I'll ask Sophia to make you some glucose water. Have a sip to regain some strength."
"Thank you, Mom."
After watching Madam Harvey leave, Julissa noticed that it had grown completely dark outside. She glanced at the clock. It was already eight in the evening. Harley was crouched in front of Julissa, restlessly fussing over her.
