The signal tracker the alien tentacle intended to create was required to have two very special characteristics- very powerful, and adequately stealthy.
And it was the former requirement that bothered 'it' the most.
The latter, 'it' reasonably guessed it could get away with being only relatively stealthy as it only needed to fool the amplification circuitry.
Once the signal left for the air, that really did not matter.
What mattered then was the strength of its tracker.
Because it would have to be quite the powerful one, not only able to imprint itself into the electromagnetic wave pulses but then also be strong enough to endure crossing an entire dimension and reach the other side.
And then after all that, it still had to be robust enough to loudly cry out to its brethren, allowing them to pick on it, and read the message.
Needless to say, it was a very daunting task.
Especially as even the coordinates it had put in as the location of the 'feeding ground' were just for the space just before the ships jumped, it was not the coordinates to this exact plane.
The ship's navigation system was unable to find any reference points in relation to its origin home planet to make that deduction.
As for why the ship jumped or even how an innocuous jump through subspace got it in this never before detected plane….all that was a mystery even to it.
In fact, none of the crew it 'ate' also had any relevant secrets. They seemed to be just as confused and scared.
Hence the whole thing being wrapped in so much uncertainty made even the alien being unsure all this would work just as planned.
However at the end of the day, all this did not matter.
This tentacle had been created by the Great Mother as a foraging scout, and it was written into its very DNA that it must report back to Her whenever it detected a worthy prey.
And this plane of Algea was more than just worthy, it was perhaps the word 'worthy' itself.
So even if it needed to sacrifice itself to get this information across, it would be more than willing to do so a million times over.
"Hahaha, finally my life's goal! It is here!"
With this one last internal cry of joy and zeal, the tentacle began to wrap its tendrils around the quartz antenna, while another part began to approach Adonis's mana sea, wishing to detonate the mana held within and use it as a fuel for its 'shout'.
It hoped that that would be enough to produce a strong enough 'pyonic scream' to imprint the signal with.
But if it was not, the tentacle was ready to also blast itself apart, adding more fuel to the flame. The only caveat with that method would be that it would be dead just like Adonis.
But that was never a concern for it.
The reason it did not commit suicide in the first place was to ensure everything went smoothly. If it knew its death could guarantee the transmission to its brethren, the alien tentacle would have been the first to jump.
It was with these exciting thoughts that the alien tendril began to infiltrate its target, locating the special organ right inside the solar plex.
And upon seeing the crystal blue 'sea' for itself, let out a hearty laughter,
"Hahaha, not bad, such a spacious reservoir, the kid has quite the talent. And the mana is also so pure…yes this will do nicely. I can make the best 'psychic scream' of my life with this."
Pleased with the quality, it then started to dip its tentacles into it, like wire charges before a dynamite is set up.
And while going so, it continued to muse,
"Mmmm, I wonder where the brat came from? I have never seen a kid here with such a nice body. Are there more planes like this one? Possibly, possibly… Hahaha, great, great, we can feed here for thousands… no perhaps millions of years… Hahaha!"
It was quite uncharacteristic for the alien being to be so talkative, but it was in an unusual situation. The thought of even more 'star systems' filled with possibly even more delicious mana was indeed worthy enough to make it lose its mind.
"Ehhhh… what is this?" It was while descending down to the very depths of Adonis's mana sea, near the very floor that suddenly the alien being stopped.
It had encountered a never before seen golden type rune, shining and shimmering, preventing it from going any further down.
"Hmmm… is some kind of protective seal? Designed to prevent anyone from harming the child? Who are its parents?" The tentacles using its own logic deduced the most likely utility of this very advanced looking rune.
And then with a cruel flicker of eyes, grinned,
"Hahaha, no matter! I do not believe I cannot break it! I was the strongest being on this plane for a reason!"
The existence of the seal seemed to spur the alien being on, believing there to be more to the story. It also buttressed its assumption that the mana was really pure and so perfect for it to use.
Hence with a confident roar, the tentacle really put its back into its tendrils, arming the tips with extremely potent mana and furiously slashing at the thing like a madman.
Numerous tendrils swung and swirled around the protective looking glow like scythes and soon, the alien being was rewarded for its effort, as visible cracks and tears began to rapidly appear on the surface….
"Hahaha… this mana pool will usher in the end of this dimension. Come, come to the embrace of the Mother!"
The sight brought ecstatic roars to the over the moon tentacles and it quickly doubled its efforts.
Yet… as the runes began to crack…. unlike crumbling like a wall, it suddenly began to glow, and glow, brighter and brighter…. until
Boooommmmm!!!!
Out of nowhere, the rune, instead of simply shattering like pottery, exploded with the fiery of a thousand suns, engulfing anything and everything in its vicinity within its terrifying blast.
