Azuma Shoyo walked toward the bar's exit. Pushing the door open, he stepped into a world of frozen landscapes—miles of ice and swirling snow. He flew into the sky, braving the biting wind as his gaze swept across the planet in an instant.
Then he frowned.
This entire planet barely had any mutants—and the few that existed were complete trash. Aside from that pint-sized Wolverine, there wasn't a single standout.
"I knew it," Azuma Shoyo muttered, shaking his head in disappointment.
He glanced down at the bar below. Just as the short Wolverine had been about to attack, Deadpool had slipped away. Azuma Shoyo opened a dimensional portal beneath his feet and dropped through it.
Emerging on the other side, he landed in a street engulfed in flames. Deadpool had gotten there first and was currently getting pummeled by a one-armed Wolverine. This Wolverine's left arm was sealed in adamantium, preventing even his healing factor from regrowing it. But his right arm worked just fine, and he was using it to beat the tar out of Deadpool—who'd clearly mouthed off one too many times.
"Hey! Need a hand?" Azuma Shoyo called out. He didn't need to scan the planet to know it lacked what he was looking for. The world was a chaotic mess—burning, looting, and slaughter everywhere. Humanity had nearly wiped itself out, with less than a million people left. Mutants? This one-armed Wolverine was the only one.
"No, I've got this! Don't steal my spotlight!" Deadpool shouted, mid-beating. Then the one-armed Wolverine slashed through his chest with a few more claws.
Talk about a chilling experience, Azuma Shoyo thought.
But would he show up in this movie? Why else would Deadpool keep obsessing over his "spotlight"? If so, what about the last world—the Man of Steel one? Had he accidentally rewritten two movies? That'd be pretty amusing.
Azuma Shoyo smirked to himself. He watched for a bit longer as Deadpool was pinned under the one-armed Wolverine, getting his neck stabbed repeatedly. Bored of the show, Azuma Shoyo waved a hand. The Wolverine on top of Deadpool flew backward, crashing into a wall and merging with it in an instant.
"Cough, cough! I could've handled it myself," Deadpool wheezed, rolling off the top of a wrecked car. He landed, twisting his sore neck back into place.
He glanced at the Wolverine embedded in the wall. "Haha! Now he's a world-famous painting!" Deadpool jeered, mocking the trapped mutant. The one-armed Wolverine roared in fury, and the wall cracked apart.
"Oh, shit! Not again!" Deadpool yelped, stumbling back. He quickly opened a door behind him and bolted through it.
Bang! The one-armed Wolverine broke free from the wall and lunged—only to hit empty air.
"And you!" he roared, charging at Azuma Shoyo.
Azuma Shoyo casually waved a hand, and the charging Wolverine plunged headfirst into the ground, leaving only his head sticking out, snarling up at him.
Inside a casino, Deadpool emerged from his portal and strutted toward a one-eyed Wolverine sitting at a gambling table.
"Hey, Logan! How's your luck? I've got a world over there that might need saving," Deadpool said, sidling up like they were old pals. Then he noticed the tropical eye patch. "Oh, shit! You're Patch!"
That set off the one-eyed Wolverine—aka Patch—who stabbed a claw through Deadpool's skull, piercing from his chin to the top of his head. A real brain massage, courtesy of adamantium.
Azuma Shoyo arrived just in time to witness this, wondering if Deadpool was secretly addicted to getting beat up. Why else was he always on the receiving end?
"Okay, okay! Not you!" Deadpool stammered, staggering back. He stumbled into a portal behind him and vanished.
"Don't look at me—I'm not with him," Azuma Shoyo said, spreading his hands as Patch glared his way.
But the enraged Patch didn't care. He stood, ready to take on Azuma Shoyo too.
"Alright, you Wolverines sure have tempers," Azuma Shoyo sighed, shaking his head. With a flick of his finger, Patch crashed through the casino's ceiling and soared out of sight.
Azuma Shoyo turned and left without a second thought. This world didn't have what he was after either.
Stepping through another dimensional portal, Azuma Shoyo emerged just as Deadpool was sent flying by a Wolverine with Clark Kent's face.
Now this Wolverine had some punch!
Azuma Shoyo raised a finger, freezing Deadpool mid-flight. With a sideways flick, he sent the immobilized Deadpool crashing into a wall with a splat.
"Cavil-verine! That's Cavil-verine!" Deadpool yelled excitedly from his spot on the wall.
"There's another one," the Cavill-faced Wolverine said, his cold gaze locking onto Azuma Shoyo. He grabbed a several-hundred-pound slab of stone and hurled it at him.
"Hey, that's not polite," Azuma Shoyo said, lifting a finger. The flying slab froze in midair. With a downward flick, he sent it hurtling back toward Cavil-verine.
Bang! With a single punch, Cavil-verine shattered the slab.
"See that? That's the real Cavil-verine!" Deadpool shouted.
"Enough, I heard you!" Azuma Shoyo said, digging at his ear. Deadpool was so loud—how did his friends put up with that mouth?
"Roar!" Cavil-verine, having smashed the slab, lunged forward. He was faster, stronger.
Azuma Shoyo could've frozen him, but instead, he fired a blast of heat vision from his eyes. The beams struck Cavil-verine mid-leap, sending him flying.
"Wow! Superman versus Cavil-verine! Oh my God, my spotlight's toast—everyone loves this stuff! Boo-hoo!" Deadpool wailed, crouching in a corner like he was crying. Azuma Shoyo figured it was just more theatrics.
The heat vision blasted Cavil-verine out of the warehouse, crashing through a wall. He hit the ground outside, glancing at the charred flesh on his chest. His healing factor kicked in, rapidly regenerating the burnt tissue, organs, and skin. In moments, the gaping hole was gone.
With a low growl, Cavil-verine charged back toward the warehouse.
Bang!
