The dim lantern light flickered against the walls of the motel room, casting restless shadows over the Clark family. The night outside was quiet, but the tension from dinner still clung to the air like a storm waiting to break.
Alicia sat on the edge of the bed, arms crossed, staring at her brother. "So… are you gonna tell us why you broke that bottle?"
Nick leaned back against the wall, feigning indifference. "It was an accident."
Alicia narrowed her eyes. "Bullshit. You saw it, then pushed it. Why?"
Madison, sitting nearby, sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "That's enough."
"No, I'll tell you," Nick said. "What would happen if we passed out and got attacked by some stranger at night? Or someone from the group tries to do something to someone?"
Alicia paused. "Then, you should've come clean and maybe not wasted resources?" she said, staring daggers at him.
"They wouldn't have listened," Nick scoffed.
"Enough, both of you." Madison sighed, rubbing her temple. Alicia huffed but said nothing.

Wesker POV:
Day 7
I drove toward Macon in the Humvee, with a pile of empty firearms rattling with every bump(corpse) on the road. I was exhausted, not physically but mentally, if not for this smell oozing from my body, I would've fallen asleep. It's a good thing I put a plastic wrap on the seat of the Humvee.
I need a shower. ASAP
As I drove, my mind began to wander to the walker I encountered during my near-death experience, an Lv-5 Walker, while I was still at 3. Initially, I had thought they were growing along with me, like in a game, but it turns out they aren't.
Why are there levels for walkers? I shook my head. Show me, the screen floated in front of me. I wanted to check what I got from leveling up. At level 2, I got the function to see my states, and now… nothing. I got nothing this time.
What a waste
The Humvee rumbled down the highway, the golden light of late morning cutting through the trees. I drove in silence, my fingers tapping against the steering wheel. The metallic scent of dried blood still clung, thick and suffocating, from my neck to my shoes.
I'm gonna miss breakfast I sighed.

As Macon's outskirts came into view, my eyes swept across the abandoned streets, noting the lack of movement. Walkers still roamed, but not in hordes. Yet. The town wouldn't stay this quiet forever.

I stopped in front of the motel. The gate opened when I blew the horn, and I rolled into the parking lot of the motel just past breakfast. The place was still standing. That was good.
My arrival grabbed the attention of the group. I stepped out, shoes quelching slightly with dried blood. Lilly held the rifle in her hand, but she wasn't aiming it. Her expression was a mix of irritation and relief.
Katjaa stopped short, her lips parting slightly. "Oh, my God."
Clementine, standing beside her, had her arms crossed. Her face wasn't fully of worry or disgust, just curiosity and hesitation tinged with a bit of fear. She was adapting well.
"Did you bathe in it?" Clementine tilted her head.
Lilly chuckled, "Seriously Wesker, you look like shit."
"I need a shower," I said and moved toward my room to wash up. I threw away the clothes and let the water run against my skin. I hope I don't get some kind of reaction.
I came back outside after ~30 minutes or so to find all of the group gathered outside in a circle.
"What the hell did you do? Wrestle every walker in Georgia?" Kenny whistled low, his hands on his hips.
"Something like that," I muttered, walking toward the group while stretching my arms. The stench was gone, and I took in the fresh air.
Alicia came to the front, brows furrowed as she looked at me. "You find anything worth all… that?"
I saw expectant looks on everybody's faces, They didn't see it yet; that's good.
"Guns no ammo, I was caught between walkers in the thousand, I'm lucky I got out." Lilly narrowed her eyes and stepped toward me, embracing me in a hug.
"I'm glad you're back," she said. I placed my hand on her back, pressing her against me, much closer. I glanced at Carley, who looked to be in pain, not emotional, but physical. What the hell happened to her?
Lilly looked up, expectant. I leaned in, placing a kiss on her soft red lips.

It was past noon, and I was walking to Carley's room.
Knock! Knock!
I stood outside waiting for it to open, and soon it opened with a tired Carley. "What?" she asked me in a low and hoarse voice.
I squinted and walked inside, She was so out of it that she didn't bother yelling at me for intruding, "What happened?" I asked, my tone flat.
"Nothing. I have a hangover," Carley replied, walking over to the bed and sitting on the edge.
I chuckled. "How much did you have?" I asked, taking a seat next to her. She placed her head into my lap, "Enough to agree to your harem," she said.
My eyes squinted. This isn't alcohol. "But then I sobered up," she said with a chuckle, Ok, this is alcohol I thought, shaking my head.
"Then I'm gonna have to get you drunk again," I said, brushing her hair as she closed her eyes with a small smile. "You won't need to," She mumbled and dozed off in my lap.
