The Silver Dragon Spear.
Its length exceeded three meters, yet it was exceptionally slender. The shaft was covered with fine silver scales, hexagonal in shape, meticulously and evenly arranged.
The spear tip occupied about one-third of the weapon's length, tapering into a conical shape with twelve grooves carved along its surface.
Beneath Na'er's feet, three soul rings slowly rose—each one purple. Judging by their depth, they were clearly not just one or two thousand years old; these soul rings had likely reached four or five thousand years.
With the Silver Dragon Spear in hand, Na'er, already stunningly beautiful, instantly exuded an aura of grace and strength.
Na'er lightly tapped the ground, her figure swiftly gliding toward one of the doors. A flash of silver light erupted from the spear, and a spear beam pierced through the Flame Demon Lion's paw before striking directly at its head.
Bang!
In an instant, the Flame Demon Lion was obliterated.
She then lightly touched the ground again, changing direction, and unleashed another spear strike. The beam pierced through the adjacent Flame Demon Lion.
Just like that, two out of eight were eliminated.
Even though she had broken through to Level 40, she hadn't yet obtained her fourth soul ring. Strictly speaking, she was still a Soul Elder. Yet, her ability to effortlessly slay Flame Demon Lions over five hundred years old was undeniably terrifying.
Some weaker Soul Kings might only barely match this level of strength.
Na'er didn't stop. Her movements were nimble, her figure dancing gracefully as she swiftly eliminated all eight Flame Demon Lions.
Returning to the center of the hall, she looked at Xu Yuan, raising her chin proudly, her expression smug.
Xu Yuan gave her a speechless look.
"Spirit Pagoda, Second Floor cleared. Available soul spirit for absorption—"
Xu Yuan led Na'er through the light portal, quickly advancing to the third floor.
Even with numerical superiority, the soul beasts on the subsequent floors were no match for the duo. Their strength allowed them to instantly slay any soul beast below the thousand-year mark.
By the fifth floor, the soul beasts they encountered finally reached the thousand-year threshold.
On the eighth floor, not all eight metal doors opened. Only six gates activated, releasing six thousand-year soul beasts, each with roughly two thousand years of cultivation.
However, this posed no challenge for Xu Yuan.
On the eighth floor, Na'er took the lead.
It was another crushing victory. She swiftly subdued the six soul beasts with overwhelming force, but her energy consumption became noticeable.
Her soul power fluctuations visibly decreased, though only slightly.
On the ninth floor, Na'er had to meditate properly to restore her soul power.
This time, only four doors opened.
"Four Ice Bears, each with over three thousand years of cultivation," Xu Yuan exhaled deeply. The Tianyuan Brush in his hand grew thicker.
His right hand gripped the pen tightly as he swung the Tianyuan Brush, tracing patterns in the air. Elemental forces converged.
A massive fireball formed, hurtling toward the two adjacent doors.
Boom!
The fireball exploded, unleashing a terrifying wave of heat that spread throughout the hall, significantly raising the temperature.
Without even glancing back, Xu Yuan swung the Tianyuan Brush again. The five elemental forces converged to form a phantom spear, piercing down toward the other two emerging Ice Bears.
Pfft
The spear pierced through one Ice Bear without resistance.
Turning around, the tip of the Tianyuan Brush extended like a spear, impaling another Ice Bear.
These two Ice Bears seemed unable to resist, allowing themselves to be pierced and dissipating into energy.
As the flames from the explosion dissipated, the two severely injured Ice Bears revealed themselves. Enraged, they prepared to charge, only to feel their soul power spiraling out of control. The sharp spear tip loomed large in their vision before they lost consciousness.
Four Ice Bears, eliminated.
"Tsk tsk, Junior Brother, what's up with your Tianyuan Brush? Are all the techniques you've developed still spear-based?" Na'er teased sarcastically.
Seeing how relaxed Xu Yuan still appeared, she couldn't help but try to rile him up.
"Junior Sister, you don't understand. This is my fusion of elemental forces with spear techniques, further amplifying the destructive power of the elements," Xu Yuan calmly explained.
Though he said this, inwardly, he felt somewhat helpless.
Because the Tianyuan Brush only had one Five-Element Mastery soul skill, its development was limited to manipulating elemental forces. Even if he became more proficient in elemental control, it still couldn't match the raw offensive power of a spear.
When it came to true penetrative killing power, spears were simply more effective.
This was why he combined elemental forces with spear techniques in his attacks.
Xu Yuan didn't doubt that adding more soul rings to the Tianyuan Brush would allow him to develop stronger techniques—but he didn't have those yet.
"It's been two years since Uncle went to find the Paper Saint Douluo. He stopped answering soul-guided communications a year ago. I wonder how the paper soul spirit project is going." He sighed inwardly. "Could he really be scared off by my constant nagging about marriage? Or did I actually succeed in pushing him into it?"
Xu Yuan had genuinely imagined the scene of his uncle returning with a chubby baby in tow.
The development of the Tianyuan Brush had fallen behind somewhat—not because his Tianyuan Brush martial soul was useless now.
In group battles, the Tianyuan Brush clearly held the advantage, making it easier to eliminate enemies.
But in one-on-one combat, wielding the Tianyuan Five-Element Spear allowed Xu Yuan to unleash his strongest single-target attack.
Each had its pros and cons.
In the blink of an eye, the siblings advanced through several more floors.
By the ninth floor, Xu Yuan handled things easily, though his soul power consumption was becoming noticeable.
As they continued ascending, they tried to minimize their consumption while slowing the pace of battle, giving the other person time to recover to full strength.
On the thirteenth floor, Xu Yuan began to experience significant depletion. On the fourteenth floor, it took Na'er half an hour to fully recover. Fortunately, starting from the eleventh floor, there was only one soul beast per floor—a soul spirit at its peak state, fully replicated. Though stronger, it was easier to handle individually.
At least there weren't too many targets interfering with the recovery process.
On the fifteenth floor, Xu Yuan finally activated his brain-type martial soul, using the interference of the dream realm to slay a nine-thousand-year Three-Eyed Demon Ape.
A nine-thousand-year Three-Eyed Demon Ape was no joke. Even with Xu Yuan's dream realm, he failed once before managing to temporarily seal its spiritual power and drag it into the dream space.
On the sixteenth floor, two nine-thousand-year Flame Lords drained Na'er's energy significantly.
---
Seventeenth Floor
The four metal doors opened wide.
Feeling the oppressive surge of soul power, Xu Yuan's expression turned grave.
"Four of them—and all are nine-thousand-year soul beasts!"
He turned to Na'er beside him. "Let's attack together."
"Alright."
Both wielded their spears, standing back-to-back.
Four icy presences surged into the hall as the metal doors opened.
Four soul beasts emerged from behind the gates.
"Four Titan Snow Fiends!"
Xu Yuan's face grew tense as he stared at the four mountain-like behemoths, taking a deep breath.
"Kill three first, and leave one alive to wear down. We'll use it to recover our strength."
"Got it!"
Na'er immediately understood Xu Yuan's plan.
Even facing four nine-thousand-year Titan Snow Fiends, they never doubted their ability to prevail.
