Chapter 16 - Chapter 16 pretty and perky beauty

The secret technique passed down by the remnant soul—was it truly powerful? Without a comparison, Merritt couldn't be sure. However, he now understood why the remnant soul was hunted down by so many people. The saying "a man without sin becomes guilty by possessing a treasure" made perfect sense. Owning such an extraordinary artifact would naturally attract envy and greed.

Previously, Merritt had no interest inthe secret technique and didn't delve into its mysteries. But now, a question nagged at him—judging by various signs, the remnant soul didn't seem to be from Earth. So, where did it come from?

Two cars were parked by the roadside. The first was a sleek black Brabus CLS, its streamlined body a testament to perfection, achievable only by a million-dollar luxury car. Unfortunately, the rear end was dented, ruining this piece of art. The culprit was a low-end domestic car.

The door of the luxury car opened, andout stepped a man in a suit, sporting a beer belly and slicked-back hair. His face was filled with rage. It looked like a rear-end collision.

Wait! Merritt immediately sensed something was off. The man with the luxury car seemed angry, but the anger Merritt felt was actually coming from the driver of the car behind.

The driver of the domestic car, having rear-ended such an expensive vehicle, should logically be panicking. So why was he angry?

The suited man walked to the back of his car, his face livid as he pointed at the dent and shouted, "Are you blind? This is just..."

As he spoke, the driver's door of the domestic car opened. The onlookers, drawn by the traffic accident, couldn't help but be taken aback by what they saw.

"Wow, she's gorgeous!"

The woman driving the local car was a stunning beauty. She was dressed in a light beige blazer and a matching pencil skirt, a typical professional outfit for a white-collar worker.

However, the light-colored blouse with subtle lace trim underneath the blazer added a touch of casual elegance to the otherwise formal attire.

Merritt could tell at a glance that these clothes weren't from high-end brands, but the design and tailoring were excellent, making the outfit look perfect.

No matter how well-designed and coordinated an outfit is, it always depends on who wears it.

Isn't there a saying, "Even in royal robes, you might not look like aprince"?

Conversely, even a simple outfit can look stunning if worn by someone with a great figure and a beautiful face.

Undoubtedly, it wasn't the clothes that highlighted the woman's beauty; rather, her beauty made the clothes shine.

Her long black hair was styled into a bun, revealing a slender, snow-white neck, exuding a sense of competence.

Her delicate eyebrows were slightly arched, complementing her bright, angelic eyes. Her nose wasn't very high but was straight, and her soft lips parted to reveal four pearly white teeth. The blazer strained against her chest, as if it might burst open at any moment.

Even in a city full of beautiful women, a woman of her caliber was a rare gem.

"Not quite as good as the girl..."

Merritt glanced at the prominent curves of her blazer and couldn't help but swallow hard. "But... definitely bigger than the girl, quite impressive..."Whoa!

He suddenly snapped back to reality.

What was going on?Merritt was almost scared to death by the thought. He had never been someone who was easily swayed by beauty. With his experience and self-control, he wouldn't even glance at any woman other than his girl. But now... it seemed like his thoughts were out of control, as if influenced by something.

"From now on, you are me, and I am you!" The words of the lingering soul echoed in his mind again, and Merritt was horrified by the possibility.

Could it be that the lingering soul not only changed his appearance but also affected the personality he had developed since childhood?

Just as he was thinking this, a beer-bellied man, who was cursing and swearing, saw the beautiful woman getting out of the car and his face changed dramatically, looking very surprised. "Yasmine, is that you?"

An acquaintance!
