Chapter 109 - Chapter 109: Prerequisites

Inside the Room of Requirement, although the area seemed incredibly vast, it was filled with scorching heat, and the air was tinged with the smell of something burning.

Light, who had overexerted himself, gasped for breath as he walked out of the Room of Requirement and headed towards the outside of the castle.

As Light stepped out of the Room of Requirement, he looked through the window at the less-than-full moon in the sky.

Filled with excitement, Light cloaked himself with the Disillusionment Charm and quickened his pace towards the outside of the castle.

"Apparition!"

With a twist in space, Light's body instantly vanished from the spot.

In an open space beside a century-old tree by the river in the Forbidden Forest, space twisted again, and Light reappeared.

Looking at the mark he had made before leaving, Light confirmed the tree in front of him.

This tree, more lush and taller than before, was the one where he had placed the potion.

With a nervous heart, Light carefully used Transfiguration to make a hole at the marked spot.

He looked at the potion he took out from the tree. There was neither surging Magic Power nor any captivating light.

The deep black potion in the bottle was purely black. This ink-like potion seemed to be able to devour even light.

Forcing himself to withdraw his greedy gaze, Light let out a soft breath, dispelling the urge to use it immediately. He secretly thought:

"No, not yet. I'm not in a good state right now. I need to have a good rest. And I have to tell Professor Snape to guard for me."

Thinking of this, Light carefully hid this precious potion. He activated Apparition, and his figure twisted once again.

Then, Light's figure appeared not far from the castle, and he walked towards the castle with a brisk pace.

Light was so excited that he couldn't fall asleep. He had no choice but to go to the Room of Requirement to brew two potions to help him sleep.

After drinking the potion, Light slept soundly until dawn.

Absent-minded, Light casually got through his morning classes.

It wasn't until the afternoon, in the Potions class, that Harry Potter, for some unknown reason, put the wrong potion ingredients, causing the potion in his cauldron to explode and splash everywhere.

However, Harry Potter dodged quickly, and those closest to him suffered, especially Goyle, who was relatively near him.

Goyle's head and hands that were splashed with the potion swelled up, looking like a deformed fat man.

Although Light wasn't focused on the class, his alertness was high. He immediately reacted.

He quickly picked up the wand on the table and used the Impediment Jinx to block the splashing potion, protecting the students around him.

Coming back to his senses, Light looked at Harry Potter with a puzzled look. With Hermione and himself teaching him, he shouldn't have made such a mistake.

But upon closer inspection, he found that Ron and Hermione were not near Harry Potter. Light then realized that Harry Potter did it on purpose.

The whole classroom was in chaos because of this accident.

Some were frightened, some were affected, and some took the opportunity to make a ruckus... Screams and curses were everywhere.

Looking at the noisy and messy classroom that resembled a marketplace, Professor Snape, who had been expressionless, instantly scowled and roared:

"Silence! Those who were splashed with the potion, come to me to get the swelling-reducing potion."

"And twenty points from Gryffindor!"

All the young wizards in the classroom were startled by this roaring voice and obediently did as they were told.

All the students who had been affected were lining up in an orderly manner to receive the swelling - reducing potion. Harry Potter also stood still obediently, accepting the criticism.

However, Hermione disappeared from the Potions classroom. In the chaotic classroom, no one noticed her disappearance.

After the chaos subsided, Light saw Hermione sneak in from the back, with both of her pockets bulging.

Professor Snape roughly checked the progress of all the young wizards. After criticizing a few young wizards unhappily, he announced the end of the class with the ringing of the bell.

That evening, Light went to Professor Snape's office.

Professor Snape was checking the supply cabinet. With a gloomy face, he said, "My potion ingredients have been stolen. It seems that Potter's potion accident today was no accident."

"This is the choice of fate!" Light said in a super - mysterious way.

"Fate~" Chewing on these two words, Professor Snape's eyes became extremely deep.

"What do you think of the basilisk? Who on earth is the master of the Chamber of Secrets?" His eyes turned sharp as he stared at Light, as if not allowing him to lie.

"I don't think much of it. The basilisk is troublesome for us wizards, but it's not unsolvable. What's really troublesome is its master." Light replied seriously.

Professor Snape was silent for a long time and finally slowly uttered a few words, "I understand!"

Then, looking at Light expressionlessly, he continued, "So, why did you come here suddenly?"

"I've succeeded!" Light took out the potion in his hand and showed it to Professor Snape.

"What's the ritual?" Professor Snape asked in a low voice, with no trace of emotion on his face.

"Drink the potion before the sun rises and complete the transformation under its guidance." Light was extremely frank.

After thinking for a long time, Professor Snape slowly said, "I see. I'll make arrangements for you. Wait here!"

After saying that, he hurriedly left the office.

Light didn't wait in vain. After putting away the potion, he took out the ritual Spells books *Man and Nature* and started reviewing.

After some time, Light had only read a few pages of the book when Professor Snape came back.

Without much courtesy, he directly ordered Light, "Come on! Follow me."

Following Professor Snape through a series of left and right turns, they came to a room on the east side of the castle. It was extremely small, with only a single - bed in it.

The silvery moonlight shone through a huge window that was about half a person's height in front of the wall, illuminating the whole small room.

"At 7:30 tomorrow, if it's a sunny day, I'll come. You can stay here for now." After saying that, Professor Snape rushed off again.

Light took out his wand to clean the small room and then glanced at the time.

Finding that it was still early, Light took out the sleeping potion and drank it in one go, then fell into a quiet sleep.

Not long after, two figures appeared outside the door in the firelight.

"Are you sure he's pulled it off?" Headmaster Dumbledore looked at the sleeping Light and asked softly.

Professor Snape pondered for a moment and didn't answer directly. Instead, he said, "He's very steady and has no reason to lie to me."

Headmaster Dumbledore naturally understood the meaning behind Professor Snape's words. He didn't know if the potion had succeeded, but he trusted Light.

"Alright! We'll come back tomorrow. By the way, give me a bottle of the sleeping potion. I'm afraid I won't be able to fall asleep."

Hearing Headmaster Dumbledore's helpless words, Professor Snape didn't respond. He took out two bottles of potion from his pocket and handed one to the headmaster.

Thanks to the effect of the potion, Light fell into a sweet sleep and the night passed by quickly.
