Chapter 69 - Chapter 69: The Confrontation

"So, what are you going to do with these Spells props?" Light frowned as he watched Boggin packing non-stop.

Boggin didn't stop his work, not looking at Light but saying, "I've got a way. It's a bit risky, but the rewards are high!"

"What? Are you going to Thailand too?" Light couldn't help but make a sarcastic remark when he heard this.

"Thailand? What are you talking about? I'm talking about France and the United States. There might be interception or double-crossing on the way, but there's no other way!"

As Boggin talked, he lost the mood to pack and unconsciously slowed down his hands and feet.

"Can't your connections in the Ministry of Magic help?" Light stroked his chin and said seriously.

"It's difficult. They'll want a lot in return for their help!" Boggin plopped down in a random corner, looking rather down in the dumps.

Light paced back and forth on the spot. After pondering for a moment, he asked, "What if you become one of the suppliers for the Ministry of Magic's supplies procurement department? Can you use that privilege to work things out?"

Hearing Light's question, Boggin couldn't help but think about it. His furrowed brows relaxed a bit, but after considering for a moment, he still shook his head.

"It's doable, but the situation's pretty tense at the moment, and a lot of people are eyeing this. It's not easy to get involved!"

"It's not impossible, right? It's just that we don't have enough chips!"

After saying that, Light took out two rolled-up pieces of parchment from his bosom. He threw the design drawings of Alchemical Spells props, based on the spell-proof gloves made by the Weasley twins in the original work, to Boggin.

"What's this?" Boggin took the drawings and looked at them with a bit of confusion.

"A protective ring and a defensive pendant. The former can deflect Spells, and the latter can create a defensive barrier similar to the Iron Armor Charm!"

"These two things should be able to impress the minister who advocates a tough approach towards Dark Magic. As long as you can meet him!"

After Light finished speaking, without waiting for Boggin to react, he walked straight to the workspace in the basement.

Boggin, after looking through the drawings, looked up at Light's departing back. There was a strange glint in his eyes, as if he was cooking up some scheme.

When Light reached the basement, he found the wooden box he had made before, which was specifically used to isolate Spells, and put the Horcruxes in his hand into it.

As the box closed, the faint, alluring whispers that had been in Light's mind disappeared.

After doing all this, Light heard a rush of footsteps.

"Boss! Can the props on these two drawings really be made?"

Light turned to look at the anxious Boggin and smiled, "Of course!" Then he started to busy himself on the workbench.

Several magical scripts were carved out. Under Light's Guidance of Magic Power, they achieved balance and took shape on a pendant.

"How is this possible! It's so easy to complete!"

Looking at Light effortlessly completing an Alchemical Spells prop that had never appeared before, Boggin looked completely incredulous.

"Here! Take it and test it!" Light picked up the pendant on the table and tossed it to Boggin, who was still in a state of disbelief.

Hearing the voice, Boggin snapped out of his daze and fumbled to catch the pendant that was thrown at him.

Just as he was about to say something, he saw Light resume work, so he held his tongue. Instead, he turned to test the props.

"So, how about it! Do these two props show any promise?" Light looked at Boggin, who had just finished testing the two props.

Holding one prop in each hand, Boggin said in a somewhat dazed tone, "They do. These two props are very promising."

"Then let's get started! I'll guide you on how to make them!" With that, Light stepped aside.

With specialized guidance and blueprints, Boggin, who was also well - versed in Alchemy, quickly mastered the manufacturing method.

"This is really amazing!" Boggin said, looking at the completed Alchemical Spells props on the workbench, in a rather cryptic tone.

"Indeed, it's quite amazing that it's me teaching you now," Light said casually without even looking up, flipping through the book in his hand.

Boggin didn't say a word. Instead, he started thinking about how to make money off these simple but effective props.

After a long while, Light closed the book and looked at Boggin, who was still deep in thought, and softly said, "So, can you let me have a look at the books on Ancient Alchemy?"

Hearing Light's words, Boggin, who was in deep thought, couldn't help but stiffen. He said awkwardly, "You've figured it out!"

"It wasn't that hard to guess. You sly old fox, you must have a way to break the control of the Imperius Curse!" Light looked confident, but secretly he thought, "Who would know that I'm also quite proficient in Legilimency? Hehe!"

Although Light was laughing wildly inside, his face remained calm as he continued, "We're not enemies, are we?"

Boggin looked deeply at Light, took out a key, and gritted his teeth and said,

"If I cooperate with the Ministry of Magic, I'll be retaliated against by some people. I hope you can protect me! … It won't take long. Once this wave of trouble passes, I'll be okay."

Seeing that Light seemed to be about to refuse, Boggin quickly explained his plan.

After some consideration, Light agreed to Boggin's request, but said that he would only stay in the shop for one more month, not indefinitely.

Boggin was overjoyed and slapped his chest in assurance. With his abilities, he claimed he could finish the arrangements in less than a month.

After reaching an agreement, Boggin led Light to a hidden room, opened the door, and walked in first.

"Here are all my Alchemy books. You can read them at will," Boggin said and then handed the key to Light.

Looking at the several shelves filled to the brim in the room, Light took the key. Looking at the confident Boggin, he couldn't help but ask curiously,

"I used force and potions to break through your psychological defenses and then deliberately fell into your trap to paralyze your will. As a result, the Imperius Curse should have deeply controlled you. So, how did you break free?"

"Every time I open the shop for business, the Spells engraved on the counter reset my spirit," Boggin said hesitantly, clearly not wanting to answer this question.

"Alright then," Light didn't dwell on it and just thought of it as an unusual kind of Spells.

"Let me show you around the goods in the shop first. It'll come in handy when you're caught off guard!"

Seeing that Light didn't pester him further, Boggin let out a sigh of relief and quickly said.

After Boggin showed Light around all the terrifying Dark Magic Spells props in the shop, he grabbed the ring and the pendant and left the shop in a hurry.

After Boggin left, Light walked to the corner and reached out to stroke the large black cabinet beside the shelf. A moment later, he pulled his hand back, looking a bit regretful and confused.

"No Mileage Points. Is it because it's damaged?"

Looking at the Vanishing Cabinet in front of him, a major loophole in Hogwarts' defense system, Light couldn't help but pout.
