A crater smoked in the wilderness as Piccolo stood across from the towering Saiyan invader, Raditz. Cracks split the ground beneath their feet from their earlier clash.
Raditz cracked his knuckles. "You're tougher than I expected for a Namekian."
Piccolo scowled, bruised and breathing heavily. "You haven't seen anything yet."
Suddenly, a bright flash darted across the sky. Goku landed beside Piccolo, his gi slightly torn from flight speed, eyes sharp with focus.
"Piccolo, you alright?" he asked.
"Tch. I was buying time. Good thing you're finally here."
From above, Rayuga watched with arms crossed, floating high in the sky. His snowy white hair danced in the breeze, eyes fixed on the battlefield.
Though powerful enough to end this in seconds, he remained a silent observer, letting fate unfold.
Farther off on a rocky ledge stood the Z-Fighters—Yamcha, Tien, Krillin, Master Roshi, and Launch. Next to them were Bulma, Chichi, and Akiko, the latter gently cradling a sleeping Gohan.
"He's really fighting someone that strong?" Bulma muttered.
Akiko nodded. "Goku… please come back safe."
Chichi crossed her arms but watched silently, though her gaze occasionally drifted upward—toward Rayuga.
---
Raditz's scouter beeped wildly. "So. You finally showed up, Kakarot."
Goku's brow furrowed. "Stop calling me that."
Raditz smirked. "You really don't remember, huh? Then let me enlighten you."
Everyone stilled as Raditz raised his voice for all to hear.
"You were sent to this planet as a child. A Saiyan baby with one mission: Exterminate all life."
Gasps echoed from the watching crowd. Akiko's hand clenched over Gohan's blanket.
"No…" Goku whispered.
"You were born low-class," Raditz continued. "But even the weak have a use. We send babies to weak planets like this, let them grow, and when they've done their job, we sell the planet. Simple."
Goku's eyes shook with disbelief. "You're lying…"
Raditz chuckled darkly. "You lost your tail, didn't you? Probably hit your head and forgot your mission. That's why you've gone soft."
"I don't care what I was sent here to do," Goku growled. "I'm an Earthling now! These people are my family!"
Piccolo stepped forward. "Touching. But unless we fight together, we're both dead."
The tension shattered as Goku and Piccolo charged at Raditz.
---
Their clash shook the ground. Piccolo fired a barrage of energy blasts, forcing Raditz into evasive movement while Goku closed the gap with lightning-fast blows.
Raditz growled, blocking a powerful right hook from Goku, only to take a gut punch from Piccolo. His armor cracked.
"You worms—!" Raditz roared and burst out a shockwave that sent both flying back.
On the cliff, Krillin clenched his fists. "They're holding their own…"
Yamcha nodded. "Barely. That Raditz guy is something else."
Akiko held Gohan tightly, watching every move. "Goku… please win."
Back above them all, Rayuga remained silent, still observing. His aura was calm, his expression unreadable—but his eyes followed every movement.
"So this is the catalyst," he thought. "The battle that sparked everything in the original timeline. Let's see how it changes here…"
---
On the battlefield, Goku rose again, battered but standing tall.
"You're strong," he said, "but we're not done yet!"
Raditz laughed. "Still fighting, Kakarot? Fine—then die with pride!"
He charged a massive ki sphere and hurled it at Goku. Piccolo leapt in the way and deflected it just in time, barely standing afterward.
"We need to end this now!" Piccolo shouted.
Goku nodded—and in a sudden burst of motion, he rushed Raditz and wrapped his arms tightly around him in a full nelson.
"NOW, PICCOLO!"
Raditz thrashed. "Let me go, Kakarot!"
Piccolo planted his feet, charging a Special Beam Cannon. The spiral of energy spun at his fingertips, its glow reflecting in everyone's eyes—even the spectators on the cliff gasped in awe.
Bulma covered her mouth. Chichi's expression shifted from concern to disbelief. Even baby Gohan stirred in Akiko's arms.
Rayuga's eyes sharpened. "This is it."
Piccolo's aura surged. The Special Beam Cannon reached maximum charge.
"GOODBYE, RADITZ!!"
The beam launched.
As it tore through the air toward the two brothers locked in place—
