The sky that was dark a little while ago was slowly turning blue. The sun had replaced the moon in the sky and was slowly spreading its light into the world, blessing everything with its presence.
Isabella was lying on her side and staring out of the window. She had woken up in the middle of the night from a nightmare, and since then she hadn't been able to get a wink of sleep.
The nightmare she had seen even terrified her soul. She dreamed that someone took her little angels from her and killed them. They killed them right in front of her eyes, and she wasn't able to do anything, like she wasn't able to do anything when her parents died in front of her.
She woke up in horror and was unable to breathe because of the fear. She only calmed down when her eyes fell on the twins, who were asleep beside her.
The twins went into Isabella's bedroom at night, desiring to sleep with her. And Isabella was more than happy to follow her little minions wishes.
Isabella knew the reason for her sudden nightmare. It was because of the death of Alonzo. It had been a day since the death of Alonzo.
The next day after the incident, she didn't go to the company and neither sent the twins to kindergarten. The reason was the twins' safety, and Isabella and Andrew had to plan their next move.
There was no doubt that now he knew that they had returned. And he also knew that they had found Alonzo and would meet him. The question was how he had known that they would meet Alonzo that night.
The only answer was that someone had leaked the information from inside. But no one knew that they would be meeting him other than the men they took with him. Andrew only took the most trusted men and those closest to him there that day.
But still, Andrew interrogated them with Dante and found nothing. They were too loyal to him. They were the people who would rather die than betray him. That was the reason they took them that night. In the end, they were left with the puzzle of how he knew.
Now that Alonzo, the only clue they had obtained after a long time, had died, they had to find another clue. They wouldn't just stay still.
If Alonzo knew, there was a chance that there were some other people who might also know about it. They just need to find them. They had to grab the chance. They would find him. Even if the chance of someone else knowing was tiny, they still needed to grab it.
They let their guards down, which led to Alonzo's death. Since he now knew about them, they had to be extra careful and move swiftly. They wouldn't repeat the same mistake as before. This time, they would be the ones that hit him.
And for the twins' safety, they decided to place their most trusted guards around them. If the twins knew about the guards, they would whine about it, as they hated being followed around. That was why they were hidden. It was fine as long as they didn't know.
More than anything, the safety of the twins was most important to Isabella. She wouldn't let any harm befall them. She would protect her children. She would never let history repeat itself. NEVER.
A smile curled on her lips when she looked at the twins, who were sleeping peacefully. Isabella caressed their cheeks and placed soft kisses on their forehead. A moment later, Angelo's eyes fluttered open, and he looked around. Soon, Aria also woke up and stirred.
A smile spread on their lips when their eyes fell on Isabella. Isabella's heart filled with warmth, and she cooed,
"Good morning, my cuties."
"Good morning, Mommy," the twins said in unison, brimming.
The twins sat up and placed kisses on her cheeks. Isabella also sat up and brushed some hair strands from their faces while asking softly,
"Did you guys have a good sleep?"
"Yes, I had the best sleep last night." Aria said, scratching her body.
"Yes," Angelo whispered.
"That's good to hear. Now shall we freshen up?" Isabella asked softly.
Isabella didn't receive any answers from the twins and saw them glancing at each other like they wanted to say something. And after a second, Aria looked at Isabella with her puppy eyes and asked cutely,
"Mommy, can we go on an outing today, please?"
"Yes, you promised Mommy that you would take us around the city. Can we go out today? We really want to go, please." Angelo said softly, his voice hopeful.
Isabella looked at the twins guiltily. Because of all the events, she totally forgot the promise. The twins had been bored at the mansion and wanted to go explore the city. And since it was the weekend, the twins thought it was the right day.
The twins stared at Isabella with hopeful and sparkling eyes. Even though it wasn't the right time for them to go outside, Isabella couldn't bring herself to refuse them and break their heart. Isabella sighed softly and let out with a smile,
"Okay, let's go for an outing today. Where do my angels want to go?"
The twins' eyes filled with excitement, and they pumped their fists in the air happily before saying in unison,
"Aquarium."
Isabella smiled softly and cooed,
"Aquarium then. Let's get ready, okay?"
The twins nodded and ran to the bathroom. Isabella got down from bed and joined the twins in the bathroom. She bathed them and made them ready before sending them to Andrew to wake him up.
Isabella took her sweet time taking a shower and getting ready. And when she went downstairs, she saw the twins with the fully dressed Andrew.
"You know where we are going and how we will be spending the day, right, my brother dearest?" Isabella uttered with a smirk, walking toward them.
Andrew groaned and murmured with a defeated smile,
"They made sure that I knew every detail."
Isabella chuckled as she stood in front of them. Today would indeed be the most memorable day, but it would also be a tiring day for Isabella and Andrew. The excited twins were very hard to handle, and going on an outing with the excited twins was more tiring.
The twins wanted to eat breakfast outside, but Isabella made them have a simple, healthy breakfast at home before heading to their destination, since they would be having the rest of the meal outside.
After an hour and a half of driving, the car came to a halt in front of the aquarium, and they stepped out of the car.
The twins looked around the place with sparkling eyes, making Isabella and Andrew smile warmly. They were so excited that they came out after a long time.
They went inside the aquarium and started to look around. The twins' eyes sparkled with amusement, and they were in awe each time they saw unique fishes.
The twins were a little hungry but, at the same time, wanted to see the dolphin play. They didn't want to miss even a little bit. That was why Isabella decided to bring some snacks for them. Andrew wanted to go instead of her, but Isabella told him to stay with the twins while she went to buy the snacks.
As Isabella was returning with the snacks, she bumped into someone, making her stumble a little. She was about to fall, but she caught herself.
"Don't you have eyes? Can't you see where you are going?"
Isabella was about to apologize, but her apology died down in her mouth as she recognized the voice. Isabella looked at the owner of the voice, and her eyes instantly turned cold.
Angela, her dearest ex-snake best friend, was standing in front of her. She was straightening her dress with a frown, and when she looked at Isabella, she froze.
She was in a state of shock for a moment before her lips curled into an evil smile. She looked at her with fake concern and asked,
"Isabella, long time no see. How have you been? I heard your parents died, and your family company went bankrupt. You must have a tough life. Oh, my poor Isabella."
Isabella felt disgusted by her and stated coldly,
"Drop the act, Angela. I know your true face. You don't have to act in front of me."
Angela looked at Isabella for a second before smirking. She didn't bother to hide her hatred for Isabella anymore, as Isabella looked at her with an expressionless face.
"I know your true face, and I remember what you did to me that night. So, save your act for the cheap men." Isabella muttered.
"So you knew." Angela whispered in shock.
Her smirk slowly widened, and she muttered with hatred,
"Good that you know. Did you enjoy that night?"
"I bet you did. It might have been a very memorable night for you. By the way, how did it feel to fall from the sky? Once you were a princess, but now you are nothing. So sad you are not a princess anymore," she stated, covering her mouth and laughing mockingly.
Her laughter died down when she saw a smirk on Isabella's mouth and her cold, deadly eyes. She expected Isabella to be livid and furious, but she didn't expect this reaction from her. Isabella's deadly eyes and smirk made her shudder in fear.
Isabella took a step toward her and said calmly,
"You are right. I'm not a princess anymore, but a queen."
Angela's eyes widened as Isabella touched her hair and muttered with a smile that didn't reach her eyes,
"I hope you have been living a good life, sweetheart."
She leaned toward her and looked straight into her eyes before stating, her voice deadly,
"Because from now on, your good time has ended. I will make you pay for what you did. I have prepared everything for you. Brace yourself."
Isabella got closer to her and whispered into her ear,
"I have prepared hell for you. A dreadful hell."
Isabella's words made her tremble with fear. She was shocked at how Isabella had changed. The current Isabella made her soul tremble in fear.
"See you soon, darling," Isabella said mockingly before making her way to the twins.
Angela fell to the ground the moment Isabella left. She was furious but also afraid. It was just the start. Isabella met Angela before the time she had planned, but she didn't forget her. She didn't forget the revenge she needed to take from her.
She didn't expect to meet her so soon. But it didn't matter. Because it didn't matter when they met; what mattered was how she would destroy her.
She would get her revenge on her slowly. Painfully, slowly. She would make her life hell. A living hell.
