Chapter 37 - 37: The Limits of Magical Senses

Privet Drive, Little Whinging, Surrey.

It was a week after the holidays, and Avada had returned to the orphanage and reconnected with his friends and caregivers. During this time, they asked him about his life at school, and he picked out some interesting experiences that did not involve magic, such as the "baking club" and the "super fierce chemistry teacher".

But he always had a feeling that he seemed to have forgotten something very important.

Then, when he bought a train ticket and came to Surrey alone, wanting to see the savior in advance and visit the holy land, he remembered what he had forgotten - he forgot to remove the trace on his wand when he was still in school.

So during this journey, he could only leave his wand in the orphanage and came to Privet Drive empty-handed. He cast a Disillusionment spell on himself without a wand, and while observing Harry Potter who seemed to be washing dishes through the window, he felt that

his "magical senses" were not omnipotent.

Although theoretically, this ability allows him to perceive the magical structure of all things in the world, there are always some things that he cannot see even though magic has studied them.

For example, time, fate, and love.

Although the magic world already has magic such as time converters and divination that involve these fields, Avada has never observed any structure that may symbolize these in magic.

Not only that, he has been looking for the curse that Voldemort put on the position of professor of Defense Against the Dark Arts for a year, but he still can't find it.

He also doesn't understand why mental power can be split through killing.

And the current scene makes him feel how limited his ability is - Harry Potter, who is in his sight, is completely a normal person in his perception!

There is no trace of being possessed by other soul fragments, and there is no protective spell on his body!

If his mental power had not brought him a slight sense of disharmony like Professor Baker, he would have suspected that he had traveled to the wrong world!

He was originally looking forward to taking a look at the powerful protective spell that can replenish power through blood relatives and even rebound the Avada Kedavra curse, but he didn't expect that the result would be like this in the end.

This made him sigh and feel a little headache - things became more difficult.

In his plan to bury Voldemort, the soul fragments in Harry Potter were the most difficult part. If you want to destroy that part of the fragment, you must wait until Harry is 17 years old and the protection spell left by Lily disappears, and then let Voldemort personally cast an Ava... Killing Curse on him. But if that's the case, you have to watch Voldemort resurrect, make trouble, kill people... What's the difference between this and the original?

It is for this reason that Avada wants to research magic that can destroy Horcruxes without destroying objects. As a result, when he came today, he found that he couldn't even find Voldemort's soul. That is to say, even if the magic research is successful, it may not work on Harry...

"It would be great if Voldemort's residual soul could be caught and sealed next semester, so there would be enough time..."

first-year students, it was child's play... No, it was a child's play of defense barriers... But even so, Voldemort still escaped from Dumbledore.

How fast can that guy run?

Forget it, let's just put drugs in the ashes of Voldemort's father.

Avada lifted the Disillusionment Curse in frustration and turned to walk towards the station - it seemed that this trip was in vain.

"Voldemort's weakest moment is right in front of me, why can't I use it? Seal... Seal.

Suddenly, he paused and was stunned.

He thought of a very, very, very bold plan.

So bold that he even suspected that the Sorting Hat had sorted him into the wrong house.

Compared with life in Hogwarts, the summer vacation in the orphanage was so ordinary, simple, and boring - but Avada still enjoyed this atmosphere. Isn't this why he wanted to kill Voldemort?

Every day, he played with his peers, tutored the younger ones, showed off his cooking skills learned in Hufflepuff at night, locked the door after returning to his room, and secretly completed his summer homework at Hogwarts... In this way, time finally came to mid-August.

"Hey, Avada, someone is looking for you outside, saying it's your friend. Is it the one you mentioned... Baron Shafik?"

Avada shuddered subconsciously. He was used to hearing people call him "Ken" in school, and coupled with the recent crazy calculations against Voldemort, he was now a little uncomfortable with his real name.

"Baron? Is he here? Wait a minute, I'll be there soon..."

Avada thanked his friend who came to deliver the message, picked up his suitcase and went downstairs - a few days ago, Baron wrote to him saying that his parents welcomed Avada to visit them and invited him to go to Diagon Alley to buy school supplies for the new semester. Pure-blood families did not have the restriction of not being able to cast spells during holidays, so Avada was happy to do so and packed his luggage directly.

When he went downstairs, he saw Baron standing in front of a black car, surrounded by a few children from the orphanage, who seemed to be happily chatting with him. There was also a short old man in a suit and leather shoes next to him. Judging from his unnatural vitality, he should be the house elf in Shafik's house in disguise, but he didn't know where the clothes came from.

 "Ken, here!"

Baron saw Avada who had just walked out of the door, so he immediately waved his hand and shouted in a voice that was not loud but still audible.

 "I'm here."

Avada walked up happily with the luggage: "What are you talking about?"

"Oh, school, haha, it's really interesting..."

"Pharmacy class? Uh... that's the chemistry class I mentioned, the one with a super fierce teacher. Baron's dialect calls it that..."

"No, no, we are in different colleges. His side is not as good at baking as ours, but it also has many other strengths. It even won the championship this year..."

"Broomball? That's what Baron calls it? Hahaha..."

"Of course there is an astronomy class! Every Wednesday night we go to the astronomy tower and use the telescope there to observe the stars... Otherwise, how can I say that this school is different." "

The principal last time? He didn't cut his beard, he liked that look..."

After chatting with the children for a while and watching them leave contentedly, Avada stroked his forehead and smiled bitterly at Baron: "Well, although I'm glad that you have a sense of confidentiality, the name broomball is indeed a bit... If you really don't want to know, just make up a football or basketball."

"Thank goodness you saved the day, otherwise I would have been exposed sooner or later."

Baron took a breath after surviving the disaster and reached out to the short old man beside him: "I haven't introduced you yet. This is Charlie, my house elf, responsible for hygiene and daily life."

"Nice to meet you, Mr. Charlie."

Avada greeted him, and the old elf smiled and responded: "Just call me Charlie, Mr. Ken. Wizards don't have to use honorifics for house elves."

"Okay, Mr. Ken, please give me your luggage and get in the car with Master Baron - it will take about fifteen minutes to reach the destination."

He opened the back door and made a gesture of invitation.

Avada nodded and was about to hand the luggage to Charlie, but suddenly paused and asked: "By the way, I carry a magic wand with me. If this car wants to use any magic, will it be sensed by Trace?"

"Don't worry, Trace is not that powerful."

Without waiting for Charlie to speak, Baron explained directly and got into the car first. Avada was relieved and sat in. The space inside seemed to have been expanded, much more spacious than it looked from the outside, and the chairs were also very comfortable.

"Please sit tight, we are leaving."

As Charlie reminded him, Avada heard a slight buzzing sound from the back of the car, and then after a bang, the scenery outside the window suddenly changed.
