Chapter 570 - Chapter 571: Into the Abyss

The moment Jayden spoke, the world seemed to shift beneath him. The air thickened, as if the very atmosphere was heavy with the weight of his admission. He had stepped into the abyss, and there was no turning back now.

Maggy's expression remained unreadable, her eyes cold as she studied him. Tielen, however, let out a short laugh, a bitter sound that echoed through the vast space of the warehouse. "You think that just saying you're ready will fix everything?" he sneered. "You can't simply walk away from the carnage you've caused."

Jayden stood still, the intensity of the moment washing over him. He wasn't sure if he could fix everything. He wasn't sure if he could ever make it right. But there was one thing he knew for certain—he had to face the consequences, whatever they may be.

The figure that had revealed itself as the mastermind of this twisted game took a slow step forward, their eyes never leaving Jayden. "You think you can pay for your sins with words?" Their voice was like ice, cutting straight through him. "No, Jayden. The truth is far more complicated than that."

The room felt colder now, the shadows seeming to stretch longer as the figure moved closer. Jayden's pulse quickened. This person had been orchestrating everything, pulling the strings behind the scenes, and now they were here, standing before him, waiting to see what he would do.

"You wanted power," the figure continued, their voice dark and unrelenting. "You wanted control. But you never asked what it would cost you. You never understood the price of the game you were playing. And now, the bill has come due."

Jayden's mind raced. He had always known there would be consequences. He had always known there would be a price to pay for everything he had done to climb to the top. But this—this was different. The cost of his ambitions was something he had never anticipated.

Lena stepped forward, her eyes locked on Jayden's with an intensity that made his chest tighten. "You weren't the only one who paid for your choices, Jayden," she said, her voice low and full of venom. "We all did. You think you're the only one who's been hurt by this? You think you're the only one who's lost everything?"

Jayden opened his mouth to respond, but words failed him. What could he say? How could he explain that it had never been his intention to hurt anyone? That he had only been trying to protect what was his, to survive in a world where betrayal was inevitable?

"I didn't have a choice," he finally muttered, but even to his own ears, the words sounded weak, pathetic.

Tielen's gaze sharpened. "You always had a choice, Jayden," he said, his voice cutting like a blade. "But you chose power. You chose control. And now, you'll pay the price for that."

Jayden's heart pounded in his chest as the shadows seemed to close in around him. The walls of the warehouse felt like they were pressing in, the ceiling dropping lower with each passing second. This was no longer just a confrontation—it was a trial. A trial that would determine his fate.

The figure stepped into the center of the room, their eyes glowing with a strange intensity. "The truth is, Jayden, you've always been a puppet. And the strings were always in someone else's hands."

Jayden flinched at the words. Puppet. He had always prided himself on being in control. On being the one who made the decisions, who called the shots. But now, as the truth settled into his bones, he realized how much of his life had been manipulated, how much he had been guided by forces beyond his understanding.

"Who are you?" Jayden asked, his voice barely above a whisper. He was no longer sure if he was speaking to the figure in front of him or to the darkness itself, the shadow that had always loomed over him, controlling his every move.

The figure smiled, a cold, knowing smile that sent a chill down Jayden's spine. "I am the one who gave you the power you craved," they said softly. "I am the one who set you on this path. And now, you'll see where it leads."

The shadows seemed to pulse as the figure raised their hand, and the room around them began to warp. The walls shifted, the floor beneath Jayden's feet trembling as the very fabric of reality seemed to bend. For a moment, he felt like he was falling, spiraling into an abyss that had no end.

And then, as quickly as it had started, everything stopped.

Jayden blinked, his vision swimming as he tried to steady himself. The warehouse was gone. In its place, there was nothing but darkness—an endless expanse of nothingness. He was no longer in the place he had once known. The world around him had dissolved, and now, he stood alone in a void that seemed to stretch into infinity.

A voice, cold and distant, echoed around him, reverberating through the darkness.

"Welcome to the abyss, Jayden."

His breath caught in his throat as the words hit him like a blow. The abyss. Was this his punishment? Was this where he would remain for all eternity—lost in the void of his own mistakes?

He turned, searching the blackness for any sign of life, any sign of hope. But there was nothing. Only the infinite expanse of emptiness, stretching on forever.

But then, from the darkness, a figure appeared.

It was Lena, standing alone in the void, her expression unreadable. She looked at him for a moment, and then her voice came again, cold and filled with sorrow.

"You wanted to control everything, Jayden," she said. "But in the end, you couldn't even control yourself."

Jayden's heart clenched. "Lena… please…"

But she was gone, swallowed by the darkness before he could say another word.

One by one, the others appeared—Tielen, Maggy, even those he had betrayed, those he had used as pawns in his endless pursuit of power. They stood there, silent, watching him with eyes full of disappointment, full of judgment.

Jayden's knees buckled, and he fell to the ground, his hands shaking as the weight of his own failure crushed him. He had spent so long hiding from the truth, so long running from the consequences of his actions. But now, in this dark, empty space, there was no escape. No one to blame but himself.

And as he looked around, feeling the weight of his sins bearing down on him, one thought echoed in his mind:

This is the price of power.

As the shadows closed in once again, Jayden realized that there was no way out. The abyss was all he had left.

The only thing left was the truth.

And he had to face it.
