Chapter 14 - My Saviour is my husband

EMILY POV

"Ahh… Ahh," I groan in pain. As I try to stand up, a wave of pain washes over my body and soul. I remember the chaos of what happened last night that led to this unbearable pain. My eyelids feel heavy as I attempt to open them; too much crying has brought me to this state.

I force my eyes open, wincing as the bright light floods into the bedroom. Gradually, I take notice of my surroundings and stand up, immediately realizing that I am not in my own bedroom.

"Where am I?" I ask myself confused, trying to understand what's happening. I can smell the scent of fresh honey and morning dew.

I am taken aback by how beautiful this place is: the cozy, soft bed, the radiant colors of the walls, the elegant furniture, and the sunlight streaming in through the rich, vibrant blue curtains with white stripes.

But suddenly, I recall what happened yesterday; the memory washes over me like a tidal wave. I remember the handsome, mysterious white man who came over to help me. His presence was so perfect amidst the darkness, as if he belonged there.

The darkness that once threatened to consume me now seemed like it was the one that saved me. His voice was calm yesterday, soothing yet cold, warning me to be careful.

"Hold on and be careful; you will be alright," his cold voice said as I slipped away into the darkness.

"Sara! Sarah, please save her!" I stammered. It was a moment that felt unreal, as if I were dreaming.

I felt a chill run down my spine as my feet touched the cold floor. I swung my legs over to the bedside.

Each step felt like stepping on nails; I felt a sharp pain with every movement, but I welcomed it. I needed to know why I was here and who guided me to this place.

"But where is he? Who is the man?" I asked myself, my voice barely above a whisper.

But no one was here to reply. I needed to go outside to look and find out where I was. With how rich this place is and how expensive the furniture appears, I thought, "My helper must be a rich man."

I looked at my dress, now dirty and stinking. I could not bear it; I needed to change and get dressed. How could I feel at home like this? I have never felt like this before.

Even in my own personal room, I don't usually feel at home. I walked around the room to look for the bathroom.

"Wow, this is luxurious and expensive," I said in surprise. Everything about this place is luxurious, I found.

I put the tip of my finger in the water of the bathtub to check its temperature. "Wow, it's warm just as I like; this is what I want."

I slid gradually into the bathtub; it felt like forever. I didn't want to get out. It was as if I hadn't had a bath in a long time; I wanted to stay here forever.

"Why am I so comfortable like this?" I said to myself as I used the soap to rub my body.

I needed to be quick and check who helped me yesterday. My face dropped, and my heart raced as my thoughts drifted back to Eron. What will he be thinking, and what will happen to him?

But something in me didn't want to think about him. I wondered why; he's my husband, and he needs to know where I am.

After I finished bathing, I moved back to the room. The air in the chamber was crisp, carrying the scent of blooming roses from the garden outside through the window.

I opened the wardrobe to find something simple to wear. I couldn't put on my dress again; I gasped to see a lot of dresses in different colors.

"Which one should I pick?" I wondered.

Let me pick this blue dress, I thought to myself; blue is my favorite color.

I put on the dress; it was as if this room was made for me. Even the clothes were my perfect size. I put it on and decided to go outside to see where I was.

I opened the door, and the atmosphere was electric. The building and the rooms around me were beyond my expectations. The owner of this place must be a king. As I walked through the corridor, I wondered why I didn't see a single soul.

Even birds and flies were nowhere to be seen. "Who's taking care of this house? Why is no one here?" All these questions lingered in my mind, but I hoped to find my answers soon.

As I turned away from the corridor, I found a beautiful staircase painted in elegant blue. The handrails were made of pure gold, showcasing the wealth of the owner.

"Welcome," a familiar cold voice said to me.

The first thing I noticed was his red eyes. They reminded me of Eron's eyes. They were cold and metallic, glistening in the dimly lit room.

Raven midnight ink swept down to brush a strand from his shoulder, thick and shining. Well-kept, not even one strand dared to lay out of place. He had a strong, defined face with sharp edges. His skin was pale, but his long, dark, thick eyelashes gave him a softer look. He was more than an angel, but the aura coming from him was dark and dangerous, warning me to be careful with him.

I tried to avoid his gaze, but I couldn't. It felt like I was being compelled to move closer, as if I were caught in his dark web.

This stranger moved closer to me, each step making a sound like thousands of armed men approaching all at once.

"Who are you?" My voice trembled, and laced with frustration "What do you want with me? Why did you save me?" I asked, my voice shaky, betraying my fear, my eyes darted through the room looking for an escape.

"I am not here to hurt you, but I saved you. Don't worry; you will be fine as long as you obey me," his voice was very frigid and sharp, cutting through the icy, chilling air.

"Wha-what is your name?" I stammered, my voice trembling like a fragile leaf in the wind.

"My name is Zarel, and you're my wife," he said, a smirk appearing on his lips, his voice carrying an unsettling detachment that froze all warmth.
