Chapter 124 - Pyra

A pall rested heavily on the Oak and Ivy Tavern. An entire crew had been put to the sword this afternoon, and the sailors were unsure how to feel about it. 

The Tepid Princess had been sailing these waters for years. She was as much a fixture of the docks as the tavern was, and now her entire crew burned on a pyre behind the Pale Queen's temple. 

I sat back in my seat and shook my head at one of the waitresses. I didn't recognise her. 

There was a bard, but he was at the bar, drinking heavily. 

He'd arrived on the Tepid Princess. 

He had no idea. 

I casually glanced around the room, looking for the person I was supposed to meet. Whoever it was that left the message had failed to give me a description. 

I'd been sitting here for an hour. 

No one stood out. 

One of the patrons was taking the executions particularly hard. He stood up, and stumbled to the door, bumping into tables and the occasional person on his way out. I just managed to avoid him.
