Chapter 131 - Chapter 131: The Two Races’ Desperate Struggle, The Fusion Skill of Last Resort

Switching perspectives, we return to the battlefield.

The rekindled fighting spirit of the Wind Elves and Angelic Races instantly doubled their combat effectiveness.

Although their cultivation levels were not as high as their opponents, and they lacked the battle-hardened experience of Bai Ze's creatures, their fearless resolve allowed them to fight to a standstill.

The Angelic Race surrounded the Great Pengs in a tight formation, executing coordinated thrusts in unison. Many Great Pengs, unable to dodge in time, lost feathers one after another.

Meanwhile, the Sea Sovereigns were trapped within a wind prison.

A thousand Wind Elves acted in unison, conjuring five towering wind walls to seal the Sea Sovereigns tightly within.

Unfortunately, the gap in high-level combat power remained insurmountable.

The nimbleness of the Wind Elves allowed them to evade attacks, but their tempestuous winds could barely tickle the heavy-bodied Gatanothor, let alone harm it.

Similarly, the Saint-Winged Angel faced the same struggle. Despite her initial surge of resolve, after a few direct clashes with the Great Peng leader, exhaustion was evident.

"Damn it... The gap in cultivation is still too wide. Can't I win?" the Saint-Winged Angel muttered bitterly.

The saying goes, "The longer you walk by the river, the sooner you'll get wet."

The Saint-Winged Angel wasn't alone in her predicament. Elsewhere, the Wind Elves facing Gatanothor finally succumbed to its numerous tentacles, crashing heavily to the ground.

With both leaders severely injured, their subordinates turned to them with deep concern, hoping to tend to their wounds.

Seizing this brief lull, Bai Ze's creatures seemed to hear a command, their expressions momentarily freezing.

Indeed, it was Bai Ze issuing orders!

Adhering to the principle of sparing the Angels and Wind Elves from serious harm, the Sea Sovereigns and Great Pengs had been holding back their strength.

But now, with their opponents gaining momentum and fighting spirit, there was no need to hold back anymore.

"It's Father God's voice! Father God has permitted us to act!"

"Finally! I was about to burst from restraint!"

The creatures exchanged glances. Instantly, the Angels and Wind Elves, who had begun to believe in their victory, sensed something was wrong like being watched by countless pairs of crimson demonic eyes.

But they realized it too late.

The Great Pengs, previously held back in the sky, unleashed their full power, swiftly breaking free of the Angelic formations with their razor-sharp wings.

From the heavens, they unleashed a storm of feathered arrows, raining down upon the Angels below.

Meanwhile, the Sea Sovereigns within the wind prison began conjuring massive water spheres, each larger than the last, which they hurled at the wind walls.

In mere moments, the spheres shattered the wind prison, sending the Wind Elves retreating en masse.

Seizing the opportunity, the Sea Sovereigns lashed out with sweeping tentacles, scattering the Wind Elves like leaves in a gale.

The rain of arrows devastated the Angels, breaking their ranks and scattering them in disarray.

With their restraints lifted, the two powerful races pressed their advantage, turning the tide of battle completely.

The Angels and Wind Elves, who had only just begun to see hope, found themselves once again in dire straits, dwarfed by their opponents' overwhelming strength.

"This is terrifying... Were those monsters holding back their strength all along?"

"Were they mocking us, thinking we were too weak to warrant their full effort?!"

The wounded Angels and Wind Elves huddled together, faces filled with pain and despair.

They blamed only their powerlessness for failing to protect their Mother God's creation and for squandering her trust.

"Leader, let us lend you our strength! If we must die, we'll at least fight with all we've got!"

At last, in their moment of desperation, the Angels devised a plan born of urgency.

They decided to use a technique they had never dared to attempt before: the fusion skill!

Yes, much like the combined technique used by Bai Ze's Taotie and Winged Tigers, the Angelic Race also possessed such an ability.

However, due to their inexperience, they had never dared to attempt it.

But now, backed into a corner, with no other options, they had no choice but to try.

"Alright! To protect the Mother God's creation, we'll fight to the last, even if it costs us our lives!" declared the Saint-Winged Angel.

In a rare show of mercy, Bai Ze's creatures ceased their attacks to give them the chance to act.

The surviving Angels leaped into the air, quickly forming a reverse triangle formation behind the Saint-Winged Angel.

One by one, they channeled their energy into her body.

Moments later, a golden cocoon began to form around the Saint-Winged Angel, pulsating with radiant light that gradually turned a fiery red.

Outside, Xia Yinyue, witnessing the scene, was wide-eyed with excitement.

"Xiao Bai, what's going on?" she asked. "Why have they never used this skill before?"

Bai Ze, observing the unfolding scene with a faint smile, explained, "It's a fusion skill."

"A unique racial ability possessed by creatures with high bloodline purity," he continued.

Bai Ze recounted how his Winged Tigers, possessing partial Angelic bloodlines, had once performed a similar technique with the Taotie.

So for Xia Yinyue's pure Angels, using a fusion skill should have been second nature it just required the right stimulus.

Suddenly, a system prompt echoed in Bai Ze's mind:

[Ding! Divine Eye activated. Scanning in progress...]

[Ding! Scan complete!]

[Creature Name: Seraphim]

[Current Realm: Peak Battle Commander (Temporary)]

[Description: Through the Angelic Race's fusion skill, Holy Prayer, the collective energy of the Angels has temporarily been transferred to the Saint-Winged Angel, granting her a brief ascension and the power of divine flames.]

As the Angels behind her exhausted their energy, they began plummeting to the ground.

Thankfully, the Wind Elves acted swiftly, cushioning their descent with gusts of wind.

Meanwhile, the golden cocoon in midair began to crack and peel away, revealing an intense crimson-gold light within brilliant and mesmerizing.

From the cocoon emerged a Seraphim with six fiery wings.

Her once-pure white feathers were now tipped with crimson flames, and her armor was etched with fiery patterns.

Her golden twin swords had fused into a single massive blade, burning with radiant flames.

"We did it! The fusion skill worked!"

"Our leader has ascended now that bird will no longer be her match!"

"Fantastic! Once we defeat their strongest fighter, not only can we protect our Mother God's creation, but we can counterattack and conquer their territory for her!"
