Seraphine's pov
It has been two days since i saw kael last, i was a little relieved because i didn't have to worry about the wedding consumation which was supposed to happen on our wedding night. I was also worried for some unknown reason what if he is in trouble, why does no one else seem worried.i thought to myself, i know they all dislike him but shouldn't they at least care as to why he has been away for two days ?
I made up my mind to ask some of the guards maybe they know where he was. "Dera" i called. Dera is my personal maid who was assigned to me. "Yes, my lady" she bowed slightly. "I have told you countless times, call me seraphine" i sighed
"Forgive me, my lady, but i cannot do that" she answered politely. "Fine.." i said "i am worried about the prince… do you have an idea where he could be?" I asked. She was quiet for a while then she spoke again " No, my lady, but Sir Fredrick may be able to tell you, he went out together with the prince two days ago and came back with some injured soldiers earlier today."
"Did you say injured soldiers?" I heard her the first time but i wanted to be sure so i asked again "yes, my lady" she replied.
"Take me to Sir Fredrick immediately" i said standing up abruptly. She bowed and led the way quickly.
We walked for about 20 minutes, finally we arrived at the royal infirmary "Sir Fredrick" i heard Dera call. A tall man with tanned skin, dark silky hair, and muscular arms turned to us. Dera's face instantly grew red Does she like him? I thought to myself, but i had no time to think about that right now my mind was focused on kael. "I heard you left the castle with prince kael two days ago…?" I asked.
"Yes, my lady" he bowed deeply, "Why did you come back without him?" I asked sounding a little desperate than intented. "I'm sorry, my lady he stayed back to help keep the north border safe after we were attacked two days ago" he said in an apologetic tone. I gasped "Is prince kael alright?"
"Yes, his highness is fine" he answered quickly.
"I need to see kael immediately" i said, i don't care if i sounded desperate right now. I need to make sure kael is fine.
His eyes widened "My lady, you don't have to worry. I assure you the prince is fine, he will be back as soon as more guards are deployed to the north border." He hurriedly responded.
"I said, take me to the prince NOW" i commanded putting more emphasis to the last word rendering him speechless.
"Okay, my lady, we will be leaving at dawn, please go back to your chambers and rest for the night" He answered gently. I wanted to see kael that very moment but i eventually agreed to Fredrick's terms.
I went back to kael's and my room. I missed him. I think i am beginning to fall for kael. I couldn't sleep throughout the night, i kept thinking about kael.
I woke up early the next morning, i did not even bother calling the maids to help me, i prepared my bath and dressed myself. When Dera came in, i was already fully prepared "Good morning my lady," she bowed with a beautiful smile. "Morning, Dera, hope you had a wonderful night's rest, you are coming with me, remember?" I smiled back at her. "Of course my lady, i will be happy to." She answered sheepishly. "Lets go" i said and we left.
We met Fredrick with about 50 other soldiers waiting for us outside "Good morning, my lady," they all greeted including Fredrick. I just nodded my head slightly. Fredrick helped me into the carriage then he went to the horse at the front "Are you set, princess?" He asked me. "Yes fredrick you may proceed.
