Jenny froze for a moment, ''How would I know? You should ask yourself who you have offended that you are being targeted like this.''
Ella smiled, ''I am relieved to know that you also think I am being targeted and I am actually a victim of these rumours.''
''Don't twist my words!" Jenny lowered her gaze, ''If not for Professor Grimwood, you should have been immediately rusticated from the university but this is good as well.''
A hint of surprise flickered in Ella's eyes. She had indeed expected some action from Jenny's side but seeing her making no move despite this golden opportunity, Ella was confused.
It seemed like Professor Grimwood had interfered in this matter.
But why would he? In their previous life, they barely had any exchanges between them.
''But it's a matter of some time only before Professor Grimwood would eventually be proved wrong and then, there'd be no one protecting you.''
Even after Jenny left, Ella was bewildered by those words.
