'What kind of situation is this? I've never had a criminal flirting with me before,' Peter thought, swallowing hard. "Well... I'm just doing my job."
She extended the jewel to him, but when he tried to take it, Felicia pulled her hand back, holding the object out of his reach. "But tell me... How did you find me? Was I unlucky enough for you to see me coming in here?" she asked, giving a half-smile, her eyes shining with amusement.
"Something like that," he muttered. "I guess Lady Luck wasn't on your side today."
Felicia let out a giggle and leaned forward slightly. "I wouldn't say that... How about dinner?" She winked, finally handing him the jewel, but purposely brushing her fingers against his as she did. "Consider it a thank-you for being so understanding."
"Uh... no?"
Felicia raised an eyebrow, her smile sharpening. "Wow, rejecting a pretty girl this fast? That's not very nice, darling." Before he could react, she stepped forward, closing the distance between them. With a subtle yet deliberate movement, she placed her hand on his chest, feeling the rhythm of his heartbeat.
He opened his mouth to say something, but the words seemed to escape him. That was when Felicia, with a mischievous smile, took an even bolder step—she suddenly jumped into his arms, wrapping her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist, as if it were the most natural thing in the world.
Peter froze. "W-What are you—?"
"Relax," she whispered, her face so close he could feel the warmth of her breath through the paper bag. "Just... enjoy the moment."
While he was still stunned, she slid her hand behind him and, with impressive dexterity, took the jewel back. All without him even noticing, still too flustered by the woman clinging to him.
With a playful grin, she jumped back, leaving Peter off-balance, making him take a step back—his foot landing exactly where one of the lasers passed.
PIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!
Peter's eyes widened as the sharp sound of the alarm filled the museum. "You..."
She placed a hand over her mouth, feigning an embarrassed expression. "Oops. My bad."
Peter clenched his jaw, his patience running thin. 'Okay, that's enough', he thought, lunging at her.
Felicia noticed the movement and, without hesitation, flexed her fingers. Her retractable claws slid out with a subtle click, the metallic sheen reflecting under the museum lights.
"Oh, so this is how you say thank you?" Peter shot back, throwing a punch.
Felicia dodged with feline grace, her body twisting as her silver hair followed the motion. "I prefer to say thank you in ways that are more... interesting."
Before he could throw another punch, she spun on her axis and slashed at him with her claws. Peter tilted his body, feeling the air cut past his face, the attack missing by a hair.
Without losing momentum, Peter countered with a quick kick. But Felicia twisted her hips, dodging with ease. Her hand slid over his shoulder, her fingers tracing a slow, almost teasing path before lightly scratching the fabric of his jacket with her claws.
"Are you playing with me?" he asked, throwing another punch.
Felicia smiled, dodging at the last second. "Maybe just a little," she said, her eyes sparkling with amusement. "You don't seem to mind."
Peter didn't smile. With a burst of movement, he lunged again, his attacks faster and more focused.
Felicia noticed the shift. The teasing smile remained on her lips, but now there was something else in her gaze 'A real challenge...' She stepped back, her body swift, and launched a low attack with her claws, trying to throw him off balance. Peter jumped back, twisting mid-air to evade, and in the same instant, shot a web to trap her wrist.
Felicia lifted her arm with speed, her claws slicing through the sticky thread midair. "I thought you'd be faster, handsome."
Peter didn't reply. He surged forward, grabbing Felicia's wrist with one hand and trying to lift her with the other. But she was quick. Using his momentum, she twisted her body and slipped away, sliding behind him with incredible agility. As soon as she landed, she crossed her arms around his chest, her claws gripping the fabric of his jacket and pulling him back.
Peter reacted instantly, using his own strength to twist and slam her against the nearest wall. The impact didn't hurt her, but the surprise was enough to break her focus, allowing him to fire multiple webs that pinned her arms and legs against the cold surface.
Felicia let out a small gasp, her eyes widening. 'That was... incredible,' she thought, running her tongue lightly over her lips.
"It's over now," Peter declared, his voice firm, leaving no room for games.
Felicia tilted her head slightly, analyzing the situation. Her eyes scanned the webs holding her, then locked onto his, a different kind of glint shining in her gaze.
"Oh... looks like you got me," she said softly, her voice low and velvety. Felicia wetted her lips, her expression shifting between innocence and feigned fear. "What... what are you going to do with me?"
"I'm taking you to the police," he said, trying to keep the situation serious.
Felicia sighed, her shoulders relaxing against the wall. "So serious? I thought we were having fun."
Peter stepped forward, his posture tense. "Stealing isn't fun."
"Depends on the thief," she countered. "And on the hero."
For a brief moment, silence hung between them, thick with tension. But then, a violent crash shattered the moment. The door was thrown open with force, and three armed security guards stormed into the room, weapons raised and ready.
Felicia blinked, her gaze still locked on the man in front of her, but an almost imperceptible smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
Peter immediately raised his hands as the security guards pointed their guns at him. "Hey, wait! I can explain—"
But the guards didn't wait and opened fire.
The sound of gunfire echoed through the museum hall. Peter felt his instincts kick in before his mind could react. The world slowed down, and the sharp buzz of his Spider-Sense vibrated inside his head.
He moved in an instant. A quick step to the side, his body bending fluidly as three bullets whizzed past, missing his torso by inches. With his heartbeat steady, Peter didn't stop. He ducked at the exact moment two more bullets streaked through the space where his head had been seconds before. The shots struck the wall behind him, shattering the marble into a rain of fragments.
Planting his hands on the ground, Peter propelled himself upward, his legs tucking as another bullet zipped just beneath him, hitting the floor with a sharp crack. Mid-air, he twisted with precision, the next rounds skimming past him by mere millimeters, his suit rippling from the proximity of the projectiles.
'What kind of security just starts shooting right away?' His mind raced to make sense of the situation as he moved. In one swift motion, he shot three webs in rapid succession. The first and second struck the faces of two guards, covering their eyes and noses, making them shout as they stumbled to the ground. The third web hit the last guard's rifle, yanking the weapon out of his hands and sticking it to the wall.
Landing smoothly, the hero walked toward them. "Look, I know this might seem weird, but I'm Spider-Man," he said, pointing at himself while looking at the third guard—the only one who could still see him.
"She's the thief," Peter continued, gesturing to where the silver-haired woman should have been—only to find an empty wall.
"Oh... you've got to be kidding me."
