Aria's pov
I was sweating, I was panting hard.
I stood before the grand archway leading to the Hall they told me to go to, my heart pounding in my chest.
Geoffrey had prepared me meticulously for this moment, but the unknowns still gnawed at my nerves. He took his time to explain but I was so nervous.
I took a deep breath, trying to recall Geoffrey's words before I left.
"You must remember, Aria, the Mirror of Truth shows not only your deepest fears but also your most profound desires,"
"It will be like looking into your soul. The key to passing this trial is to confront what you see with honesty and courage. Do not shy away from your reflection, no matter how daunting it may appear."
How hard was it? To face my fear, I only had to remember it wasn't real and suck it up. The way Geoffrey made it sound like I was going into the lion's den again.
It was even more unnerving that people had to watch me from outside while I made a fool of myself.
