Chapter 81 - Chapter 80

A Vision of Peace

Facing Shiro's question, Naruto smiled lightly, his expression radiating confidence. "If we want to achieve permanent peace, the most important thing is to change the way people think. That's the first step I'll take—developing education. Everyone deserves the right to learn. Knowledge can change destinies and spark innovation. Only through knowledge can we overcome ignorance and barbarism."

He paused, his eyes gleaming with determination. "Next, we'll revolutionize the use of ninjutsu. For too long, ninjutsu has been a tool of war, but it has the potential to transform industries like agriculture, fishing, and even education. Imagine a world where people use their energy to improve their lives instead of fighting for survival. A world where no one goes hungry or homeless."

Naruto's voice grew firmer as he continued. "Until these changes take root, I'll become the strongest force in the world. I'll lead by example and deter those who seek to disrupt peace. I'll protect the people I care about and ensure that no one suffers needlessly."

He turned to Shiro, his gaze piercing yet kind. "I'm like you, Shiro. I hate fighting. I hate swinging a blade. But if it means fulfilling my mission and protecting those I love, I'll wield my sword without hesitation. I'll cut down every obstacle in my path."

Naruto's eyes seemed to pierce through the clouds, as if he could see the countless refugees who had suffered from war and chaos. He saw their pain, their desperation, and their transformation into something monstrous under the weight of their struggles.

His tone was unwavering. "I won't rest until my mission is complete. I'll make every ruler, every tyrant, even the gods of death themselves, tremble before me. I'll push aside the dark clouds shrouding this world and let everyone bask in the warmth of the sun. True peace will be realized."

Naruto's voice rose with conviction. "From that day forward, this land will become a cradle for countless geniuses, a place where dreams are born and nurtured."

Shiro listened intently, his heart stirred by Naruto's words. "Naruto, this is a monumental task. You can't do it alone," he said softly.

"You're right," Naruto admitted, his smile warm and inviting. "That's why I'm searching for partners—not tools or subordinates, but people who share my vision. People who believe in a better world."

Under the golden light of the setting sun, Naruto's smile was like a beacon of hope. "Shiro, I know you're lost right now. But if you don't know where to go, come with me. Help me build this peaceful world. If I ever let you down, you're free to leave. No one is born to love swinging a blade, but when you fight for your beliefs and dreams, you'll find meaning in every strike."

Naruto's expression softened, a hint of vulnerability showing through. "It's because I've experienced pain that I have the courage to wield my sword. I've seen the worst of this world, and I refuse to let it continue."

Though Naruto didn't elaborate, Shiro could sense the depth of his suffering and the strength of his resolve. He realized that Naruto, who hated violence, was willing to become a demon to protect others from the same fate.

"Naruto-kun," Shiro said, his voice trembling with emotion, "I want peace too. Can I help you?"

Naruto's smile widened, and he extended his hand. "Welcome to the team, Shiro."

A Farewell to the Past

Later, Naruto took Shiro to pay his respects at Zabuza's grave. Shiro knelt before the simple marker, tears streaming down his face.

"Master Zabuza," he whispered, his voice choked with emotion, "please rest in peace. From today on, I have my own dream. I want to protect Naruto's vision and help create a world where no one has to suffer like we did."

Shiro spoke for a long time, pouring out his heart to the man who had once been his master. When he finally stood, his eyes were filled with a newfound determination.

"Let's go, Naruto-sama," Shiro said, his voice steady.

"You can just call me Naruto," Naruto replied with a chuckle.

"Okay, Naruto-sama," Shiro said, a small smile playing on his lips.

Naruto sighed but didn't press the issue. The reborn Shiro seemed happier, more at peace. Under Naruto's guidance, Shiro donned a black robe to conceal his striking appearance. Though his death form allowed him to be seen by normal people, he had yet to awaken his Zanpakuto, limiting his combat abilities. Still, his potential far exceeded that of his human form.

After bidding Naruto farewell, Shiro set off on his own journey. His mission was to find like-minded companions and remain ready to answer Naruto's call.

As Shiro disappeared into the distance, Naruto turned and walked back toward the town.

The Aftermath

The battle had left Kado and his men dead, their reign of terror ended. Without Kado's oppression, the people of the Land of Waves regained their fighting spirit. Yet, they knew that the fall of one tyrant didn't guarantee peace. The world was cruel, and new threats would always arise.

The completed bridge, however, offered a glimmer of hope. They named it the Sasuke Bridge, a tribute to the courage and determination that had inspired them.

"Because of Brother Sasuke," Inari said, his voice filled with admiration, "I've learned that no matter how strong the enemy, we can't give up. Even if we fail, at least we tried our best."

Sasuke, standing nearby, felt a strange warmth in his chest. He avoided Inari's gaze, his cheeks tinged with pink. "Tch, brat," he muttered, though the pride in his voice was unmistakable.

For the first time, Sasuke understood what it meant to be someone's light. It was a feeling he couldn't quite describe, but it left him oddly content.

"Sasuke has grown," Kakashi observed, a proud smile on his face. "He's become someone who inspires others."

As Team 7 prepared to leave, the townspeople gathered to bid them farewell. "Thank you, ninja-sama! Please visit us again!" they called out, their gratitude evident.

On the journey home, Kakashi took a moment to reflect on the mission. "You all did well," he said, his tone serious. "Sakura, your support saved many lives. Sasuke, your strength and determination gave the townspeople hope. And Naruto…"

Kakashi's gaze shifted to Naruto, who was admiring the wildflowers by the roadside. His hair had turned black, and his demeanor was calm, almost serene.

"Naruto," Kakashi began, his tone firm, "you were too reckless this time. You underestimated the enemy and let them go. Do you understand the risks?"

Naruto turned to Kakashi, his expression gentle but resolute. "I understand, Kakashi-sensei. I apologize for my arrogance. I'll do better next time."

Kakashi nodded, satisfied. "Good. I'm proud of all of you. This mission was comparable to an A-rank, and you handled it well. When we get back to the village, I'll treat you all to dinner."

"Ramen!" the three shouted in unison.

"I'm so hungry, I could eat three bowls," Naruto said with a grin.

"Hmph, I'll eat five," Sasuke retorted, his competitive spirit flaring.

"I… I can't eat that much. Kakashi-sensei, can I invite Ino?" Sakura asked, her hands raised eagerly.

"Why not invite Shikamaru and the others too? I heard Hinata has a big appetite," Sakura added thoughtfully.

Kakashi suddenly felt the weight of his wallet. "Can I take back what I just said?" he asked weakly.

"No!" the three chorused, their laughter echoing through the forest.
