The day went by without any incident. The waters remained calm, and the sky was clear. I sat on the deck playing with Henry while Zoro was up in the Crow's Nest, watching for enemies or Marine Ships. Nami studied her maps, ensuring the Going Merry was heading in the right direction. Luffy, Chopper, and Usopp were fishing, hoping that they would be able to catch anything. Sanji was as normal, cooking.
Henry crawled around the deck, feeling his way around the ship. He started making his way toward Luffy. He stopped and turned around, and started making his way back toward me. He tripped over himself and started crying.
I ran over to him and picked him up. "Hey, Henry, you're ok. Momma's here." I rocked him back and forth.
Zoro climbed down from the Crow's Nest and joined everyone on the deck. He came over to Henry and me. "Is our little man doing ok?"
I nodded. "He just tripped over himself."
Nami looked up from her maps. "Hey, guys, is it just me, or did the sky get dark?"
Luffy glanced up at the sky and stopped fishing, as did Chopper and Usopp. "Now that you mention it, Nami, it does seem like the sky went behind the clouds."
The sky hadn't gone dark, the ship had sailed into a ship graveyard. A place where ships go to die. It was a spooky place. Not many, if any, people come out alive. Stories say that ghosts haunted the graveyard, telling sailors to turn back and to go no further.
My eyes looked up, and I saw the torn flags of the ships that had been destroyed by this ever-growing fog or the rocks hiding below the water. This was not a good sign. I glanced up at Nami. "There has to be a way that we can get around this graveyard."
Nami shook her head. "Not according to the maps. If we go around, we're as good as dead."
"Girl, if we go through the graveyard, we're as good as dead. Haven't you heard the tales of this place?"
Nami looked at me. "What do you mean?"
"They say that his place is haunted by the ghosts of sailors lost. They're spirits cannot rest."
Luffy looked scared out of his mind. "Ghosts!!! We're doomed!"
Sanji looked at him. "Are you that gullible? There are no such things as ghosts."
I looked at him. "Are you sure? Then what's that behind you?"
Sanji glanced behind me, seeing a torn sail of one of the damaged ships, and jumped. "DAMMIT WOMEN THAT'S NOT FUNNY!"
"You fell for it."
There was an easy silence that fell upon the ship that made all of us stop the teasing and joking. The Going Merry groaned under the water, trying to stay afloat. A haunting voice could be heard through the fog. "Yoho Yoho."
Chopper ran over to where Nami was standing and hid behind her. "What was that?"
Nami looked at him. "I'm not sure. It didn't sound human."
Usopp started shaking with fright. "We have to get out of here or we're dead."
I shook my head. "No. We stay and fight."
Usopp looked at me. "Are you out of your mind!! We can't fight something we can't see."
"Correction, you can't fight something you can't see. Plus, you don't know the first thing about fighting a dead man."
"What the is that supposed to mean?"
"Simple, you have to think like a dead man."
The voice got closer. "Yoho Yoho."
Zoro looked at me. "Hold on, Pretty Kitty, you're not thinking of exploring these damaged ships, are you?"
I smirked. "Why not. Call it an adventure. We can see if there is any truth to these tales."
Zoro blinked. "You might not make it back. I can't lose you again."
I placed a hand on his shoulder. "You won't. Besides exploring these, anchored ships could be fun." I smiled, handing Henry to his father. "I won't be long." Before he could say anything, I disembarked the ship to explore some of the abandoned ships.
Luffy looked at Zoro. "Well, she seems like her old self."
Zoro nodded, holding Henry. "I guess so. Once that woman's mind is made up, there's no stopping her." He looked down at his son and smiled. "Don't worry, my little sowrdsmen. You're mother will be back."
Sanji walked over to Luffy and Zoro. "Shouldn't someone go after Kat to make sure she's gonna be alright?"
Zoro shook his head. "I wouldn't worry about it."
Meanwhile, while exploring some of the destroyed ships, I was hoping that I could understand how they crashed. What made you lose your capitan and crew? Was it the fog? Or was it something paranormal? This was exciting to go from ship to ship searching for the history of what caused this.
