Chapter 10 - chapter:10:Caught in the Moment

Now my heart was away from studies, so my eyes started roaming around in the class and while roaming they stopped on Arin.

He was as if far away from the world of studies, I saw him secretly using the phone from under the desk and that too with such cleanliness as if it was his daily routine. He had no fear of the teacher as if the presence of the teacher does not matter to him.

How clever he is, he always escapes.

I started smiling looking at him and I could not stop it.

Before I could turn, Arin raised his eyes and looked straight at me.

"Our eyes met."

My heart skipped a beat. "Oh no."

I immediately straightened up, forcing myself to look away.

Just act normal.

I grabbed my pen, pretending to focus on the notes I hadn't written.

"Did he notice?"

I resisted the urge to look back, but the feeling of being watched oh my god terrifying .

The lecture continued, but my mind didn't. I should be thinking about the assignment, the endless routine of school , anything except

I didn't do anything, yet why does it feel like I've been caught?

It felt like I was caught red-handed, not her.

The lecture was over. As soon as the teacher left the class, the students started shouting, talking and laughing - as if they were freed from some prison. Conversations and laughter filled the Classroom and everyone took a moment to relax before the next class began.

Then a few minutes later, Tenzin casually came and sat on the seat behind me – the same one where Suhina was sitting. He sat very close to her, as if this was a normal thing.

Then he leaned towards me slightly and said, "Hey, beautiful.. What are you up to?"

A smile played on my lips as I turned to face him. "What do you think?" I replied, matching his flirtatious energy.

Tenzin laughed slightly, mischief in his eyes.. "You should give those delicate hands a little rest." His voice carried a playful charm, making it impossible to take him seriously.

"Then why don't you do my share of work too?" I replied to him with a playful smile.

"If you get tired, I might just do it… but at least give me permission first," he said his words were meant for me, but his eyes were fixed on Suhina.

Nami and I exchanged a look, instantly understanding what was happening. A knowing smile came onto our faces as we laughed together.

"I'm hungry… and thirsty too," I said, looking at Nami.

"Come on, let's go get some water," she suggested.

"Lunch break is about to start anyway," she added .

I dramatically clutched my stomach . "But what if I don't make it till then, Nami? What if I collapse right here, right now?" I said with puppy eyes, as if on the verge of fainting.

She rolled her eyes and looked at my watch. "It's 10:35… just five more minutes. You'll survive."

"No" I request

"Alright, at least let me pack my book first," she said, bringing it away into her bag.

"Fine," I replied, doing the same.

Just then, the bell rang.

The corridors instantly filled with students pouring out of their classrooms, their chatter voice loud through the halls. Nami and I rushed towards the water cooler, cutting through the crowd. But as soon as we reached,

"Ah… there's too much crowd today. We're never getting our turn, Nami," I said , eyeing the long queue.

She looked at the crowd and then at me. "Let's eat first," she suggested.

I nod and we quickly washed our hands and made our way to our usual lunch spot.

As soon as we sat down, Nami smiles , her eyes sparkling with mischief. "You definitely liked Rei. Maybe not a lot, but at least a little , I know that."
