"It's just some small fry from Cang Hui Academy. What's there to be so arrogant about?"
Dai Mubai sneered mockingly, his voice loud enough for everyone in the hall to hear.
Tang San glanced left and right. Dai Mubai hadn't lowered his voice at all, while Ma Hongjun and Oscar acted as if they didn't care about anything.
"If Dai Mubai picks a fight, he'll have to deal with it himself. Director Li is watching. Don't start something you can't finish," Oscar said coldly.
Dai Mubai gave an evil smirk, as if waiting for those exact words.
Tang San frowned and asked Oscar, "Senior, what's going on? Aren't you guys going to help?"
"Help? Oh, you don't know. Our principal once said that spirit masters who avoid trouble aren't good spirit masters. In other words, avoiding trouble makes one mediocre. Moreover, provoking people from other spirit master academies is the safest option—it's just a fight at most.
"But our Director Li thinks differently. He believes this is typical bullying of the weak and fearing the strong. While survival of the fittest is the norm in the spirit master world, he doesn't like picking unnecessary fights—what if we provoke a Title Douluo?
"Although our academy's honorary principal is also a Title Douluo, he can't protect us all the time. Director Li says we shouldn't pick fights but shouldn't fear them either. But if someone dares to provoke Shrek Academy? We strike back with thunderous force!"
Oscar spoke indifferently.
"As for someone like Dai Mubai who deliberately picks fights, Director Li has made it clear: if you start something, you clean it up yourself. If you can't handle it, then don't embarrass yourself—go find a corner and raise kids instead.
"For those who intentionally provoke trouble like Dai Mubai, the academy teachers won't intervene. If you get into trouble, the teachers will only step in to save your life—they won't help you out of such sticky situations. So, think twice before picking a fight."
Tang San didn't hear the rest of Oscar's words. He found the phrase "avoiding trouble makes one mediocre" quite interesting, though he felt the phrasing of "not picking fights but not fearing them" was too polite—it didn't suit someone like him, a monster.
Meanwhile, the eight members of Cang Hui Academy had already sat down, two tables away from Shrek Academy. The middle-aged man, clearly their teacher, whispered something into the ear of one of the young men. Soon after, that young man stood up and walked toward Tang San's table. Judging by his path, he was heading straight for Dai Mubai.
Dai Mubai's slanted eyes revealed a hint of disdain—he didn't even bother to look at the person.
At this moment, the waiter brought the first dish to their table.
The young man from Cang Hui Academy suddenly quickened his pace. Amid the waiter's startled cry, he collided directly with the waiter, causing the dish to tip over and head straight for Dai Mubai's head.
"Don't waste food," Tang San said calmly. His left hand shot out like lightning, steadying the waiter's body, while his right hand extended to catch the plate. Using the Controlling Crane Capturing Dragon technique, he managed to keep the dish intact without spilling a single drop, gently placing the plate back on the table. Simultaneously, his left hand pulled the waiter aside.
The young man from Cang Hui Academy was momentarily stunned. Due to the waiter's body blocking his view, he hadn't seen Tang San's movements. However, a sly smile quickly appeared on his face.
"My apologies."
Despite his words, he continued walking as if he intended to pass by Dai Mubai. However, one of his legs secretly swept horizontally, aiming directly at the leg of the chair beneath Dai Mubai's seat.
Just as the young man kicked out, Dai Mubai moved. His left leg blocked the sweep, and the young man's leg felt as if it had hit an iron pillar, causing him to cry out in pain.
Dai Mubai had been bottling up frustration after being scolded by Zhu Zhuqing these past few days. How could he miss this opportunity to vent?
With a dull thud, the young man felt as if he had kicked a steel plate. His entire calf went numb, and before he could react, Dai Mubai's palm had already swung out.
The young man's face changed drastically as he raised both hands to block Dai Mubai's strike. However, the spirit power emanating from Dai Mubai's palm completely repelled his hands, and the palm landed squarely on his chest.
Though the young man was tall and sturdy, Dai Mubai's strike sent his body arching backward like a weightless scarecrow, flying through the air. He crashed into two tables in succession before landing among the group from Cang Hui Academy.
The middle-aged man from Cang Hui Academy hastily stood up, raising both hands to grab the young man's shoulders and catch him. The young man's face turned pale, and with a gasp, he spat out a mouthful of blood, his body collapsing in exhaustion.
Dai Mubai straightened his body, stretching casually as if nothing had happened.
"My apologies. I slipped."
He was truly infuriating—arrogant and utterly deserving of a beating. Even Ma Hongjun and Oscar felt the urge to punch him.
The middle-aged man helped the injured young man sit down on a chair, his face grim as he glared at Dai Mubai and shouted:
"Which academy are you brats from?"
"Are you worthy of asking?" Dai Mubai replied curtly before sitting back down.
The teacher from Cang Hui Academy's face turned an angry shade of iron gray.
"What a bunch of arrogant brats! Teach them a lesson!"
The students from Cang Hui Academy had been waiting for his command. Except for the one injured by Dai Mubai and the sole female student, the remaining five immediately charged toward Tang San's table.
"A fight? I love it."
Xiao Wu leapt up excitedly from her seat, rushing forward without hesitation.
What followed was Xiao Wu brutally beating the students from Cang Hui Academy.
Li Luochen, who had been quietly eating his meal, found the scene highly entertaining. Watching a fight while eating—what a delightful experience! Indeed, even without Ma Hongjun provoking them, Dai Mubai would still have picked a fight. And Xiao Wu, this crazy rabbit, was more excited about fighting than anyone else. But was it really wise for a hundred-thousand-year soul beast to act so recklessly?
After Xiao Wu beat them up, those young men revealed their spirit rings—one white and one yellow. In response, Dai Mubai, Tang San, and Xiao Wu displayed their own spirit ring configurations—all optimal combinations.
Especially Dai Mubai's configuration: two yellow and one purple—the best possible setup for a Soul Elder. This display shocked the people from Cang Hui Academy.
"Stop! Everyone, stand down!"
Finally, the teacher from Cang Hui Academy couldn't hold back any longer. He stepped forward and waved his hand to signal his students to retreat.
While the students were seething with anger, the teacher's heart was deeply shaken. He clearly recognized that the three youths before him—whether the slightly older one in the middle or the two on the sides who appeared to be only twelve or thirteen—were all geniuses among geniuses.
Especially the one in the center. He looked no older than seventeen, yet he already possessed three spirit rings, reaching the Soul Elder level—a feat unheard of. And that thousand-year spirit ring—it was glaringly obvious.
"I am Ye Zhiqiu, the External Affairs Director of Cang Hui Academy. May I ask which sect you belong to?"
Ye Zhiqiu spoke cautiously.
"We are from Shrek Academy!" Dai Mubai declared arrogantly.
Shrek Academy? Shrek Academy! Could it be that newly established advanced spirit master academy? The strongest young spirit master, Li Luochen, graduated from that academy. Moreover, both the principal and vice-principal of Shrek Academy were Soul Douluo-level powerhouses. They were untouchable!
"Oh, so you're esteemed students of Shrek Academy. I've heard much about you."
Ye Zhiqiu flattered them.
"Not at all, they're just unruly children. Young people tend to be hot-headed. Director Ye, please bear with them."
A figure suddenly appeared beside Ye Zhiqiu, placing a hand on his shoulder and speaking indifferently.
Ye Zhiqiu broke into a cold sweat at the sudden appearance of this person. Though the man beside him appeared young, why did he feel so terrifying?
"May I ask which expert of your academy you are?"
"Oh? My surname is Li, and my name is Luochen. I'm the teaching director of Shrek Academy. It's a pleasure to meet you, Director Ye."
Ye Zhiqiu was instantly shocked. Li Luochen was a leading figure among young spirit masters. Rumor had it that he was at least a Soul Emperor-level powerhouse—an unfathomable existence in Ye Zhiqiu's eyes.
