Chapter 87 - Chapter 86 Master, I’m Not Stupid

Chapter 86 Master, I'm Not Stupid

"This kid patted his chest and made a promise! He swore he'd never let the birth ceremony succeed. What a load of nonsense!"

Bailong cursed angrily.

"Bailong, that's enough!" The Xuanwu Bureau Chief frowned and spoke in a low voice. "This isn't the time for blame and complaints. The most urgent matter is to assess the situation at the scene. Is Xia Feng still alive?"

The translucent Xuanwu field quietly dissipated.

"Let's move!"

Twenty members of the Holy Department took to the air, heading straight for Pingshan Hospital. However, Zhao Jie and the Dead Hands of the Divine Evil Society also rose, blocking their path.

Zhao Jie grinned. "Mr. Xuanwu, this isn't a place you can come and go as you please."

Though he didn't know the exact situation at Pingshan Hospital, buying time for Lord Wangjue was always the right move.

"Stop them!" He waved his hand, and the twenty or so black-robed figures behind him charged at the Holy Department members.

"Damn it!"

"Break through!"

The Holy Department members looked grim as they clashed once more with Wangjue's forces. The battlefield gradually shifted toward Pingshan Hospital.

...

"Dead?"

Mushroom trembled and withdrew her hand, her usually calm eyes now clouded with confusion.

Xia Feng glanced at the wide-eyed corpse and nodded. "Dead."

"So this is what revenge feels like."

"It's... good." Mushroom stared down at her bloodstained hand, unafraid of the act of killing but instead feeling a strange relief.

Her mother had been strangled to death by the prince. Now, she had stabbed the prince to death in return. This was vengeance.

Her vision blurred, her body went limp, and she collapsed into Xia Feng's arms, unconscious.

Xia Feng steadied Mushroom and turned to the princess, who had transformed back beside him. "Hold her."

The woman in the phoenix dress was breathtakingly beautiful, yet her expression remained icy. She tilted her head slightly, as if processing Xia Feng's words, then nodded solemnly. "Yes, Master."

With that, she knelt behind Xia Feng, slipped her jade-white arms beneath his, and gently embraced him from behind.

"???"

The warm, fragrant breath against his ear made Xia Feng stiffen. His pupils dilated, and he instinctively hunched his shoulders. "Are you stupid? I told you to hold Mushroom! Get up!"

The princess stood and replied seriously, "Master, I am not stupid."

"..."

Xia Feng studied her thoughtfully, as if realizing something. "When I call you stupid, you must proudly admit that you are stupid."

"Yes, Master! I am stupid!" The princess immediately lifted her chin and placed her hands on her hips, declaring with pride—though her tone remained flat and emotionless.

Xia Feng: "..."

Very good. Confirmed—you are stupid.

Xia Feng picked up Mushroom. "Hold her properly. Princess carry."

The woman in the phoenix skirt obeyed, executing the command flawlessly.

Xia Feng approached the king's body and stepped on his shadow. The blood beast slithered through the darkness, invading the corpse's flesh and soul.

Within moments, the king's body dissolved into a mist of blood, merging completely with the shadow.

Xia Feng returned to his own body and released the blood beast. After dealing with it, he raised his hand and waved the forest staff, causing a wooden soldier to emerge from the ground.

He dressed the wooden soldier in a black robe and placed a Qingtong mask on its face.

"Perfect. Just right." Xia Feng stroked his chin and nodded in satisfaction. Now they only needed to wait for the Holy Department's arrival.

However, seeing the princess standing silently beside him while holding Mushroom, he grew slightly concerned. Frowning, he instructed, "Don't speak unless I tell you to."

The woman blinked slowly.

"Did you hear me?"

She continued blinking.

"..."

BOOM—

The ground shook as the sounds of intense combat drew nearer. The wooden soldier beside Xia Feng stepped forward and dashed away in the opposite direction.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH—

Dozens of streaks of light approached rapidly. Simultaneously, Zhao Jie's warning shout rang out: "Lord Wangjue! Return to the Infinite Field!"

Xia Feng turned and locked eyes with Zhao Jie. Grinning broadly, he called out, "Uncle Zhao! How's it going~"

Zhao Jie immediately halted, landing on the ruined ground. Behind him followed both the Holy Department members and Wangjue's forces.

"Xia Feng? Hah—lucky you're still alive." Bailong raised an eyebrow, scanning their surroundings before sneering, "Where's Liszt? I knew you couldn't be trusted. You let that old man get the princess, and I—"

"He's dead."

"...Kid, this isn't the time for jokes—" Bailong narrowed his eyes, but Chen Xingdao beside him placed a hand on his shoulder. Turning, he noticed everyone staring intently into the distance.

Looking back, they saw a black-robed figure wearing a spade mask standing silently atop a tree, observing them. After surveying the scene, the masked figure quietly disintegrated and vanished.

Having discreetly withdrawn his ability, Xia Feng smiled at their stunned expressions: "I know what you're wondering—yes, it's exactly what you think. The Spade Man saw injustice and intervened. He killed the prince so thoroughly there wasn't even a body left behind. Brutal methods!"

The group exchanged glances. While none doubted Xia Feng's words, none had anticipated the prince meeting such an end, leaving them momentarily bewildered.

"Then what about her?" Chen Xingdao's question drew everyone's attention to the princess.

Yue Hongli's delicate features remained expressionless despite the scrutiny, her beautiful face frozen in solemn indifference.

"The prince tried to kill Mushroom, so I quickly convinced Mushroom to recognize her mother." Xia Feng spread his hands. "In the chaos, the Spade Man suddenly appeared, and somehow I ended up becoming the princess's master."

"Oh, and the Spade Man said he was impressed by my exceptional talent and emperor-like bearing—wanted me to join their organization! But I righteously refused! So anyway—"

The group collectively ignored Xia Feng's rambling, instead staring in astonishment at the princess before shifting their gaze back to him.

Bailong looked skeptical. "You became the princess's master? You're joking."

Xia Feng casually wrapped an arm around the princess's slender waist. The beautiful woman blinked slowly but otherwise remained motionless.

Everyone: "..."

Bailong opened his mouth, but his objections died unspoken. The birth ceremony had indeed failed—though with the prince dead, its success hardly mattered anymore.

And Xia Feng becoming the princess's master... that was something nobody had foreseen.

An odd tension filled the air. Though the prince was dead, the princess remained a high-ranking member of the Hydrangea family. For Xia Feng to now be her master...
