The rain was pouring fiercely just like it had done for several days now, only that this time, the rain came with something truly ominous.
All around Ark, people were running from place to place, trying to get to their posts as fast as possible. The civilians were running into their homes while the military officials were running towards the walls, their guns in hand.
Ark watched the area in front of him with a reserved expression and turned to stare at the girl beside him. Faye was staring at the walls with a strange expression on her face.
It wasn't exactly a look of fear, more like nervous anticipation.
This would be their first defence after all, everyone was nervous. She had insisted on escorting Emma and him out of the building before returning back to the apartment and as such, here they were.
"Lock yourself in our place, don't come out unless you are sure it is us, understood?"
Faye nodded. "Stay safe, both of you."
