Sophie looked up, locking eyes with me.
"I like you, so when... when you were on top of me last night, I didn't want to resist."
"I wanted to give myself to you, all of me."
I stared at her, wide-eyed.
I honestly couldn't remember a single thing from last night.
But the undeniable truth was that we were both lying there, completely naked.
I believed that, in a clear state of mind, I could resist temptation.
But I wasn't so sure my body would have no reaction to such teasing.
Seeing my silence, Sophie hesitated, her voice softening.
"Are you... angry?"
Angry?
I shook my head.
"No, I just... I feel sorry for you."
"It's okay, I don't feel that way," Sophie replied with a gentle smile.
She stood up to get dressed.
"Wait here, I'll make some hangover soup."
"No need..."
I was about to protest, but I didn't notice the chair by my feet and suddenly lost my balance, tumbling forward uncontrollably.
Sophie cried out and rushed to catch me.
"Ah!"
We both fell to the ground in a heap.
I quickly got up, but Sophie lay still, her face pale, gritting her teeth in pain.
"You... are you okay?"
I rushed to help her up, but as soon as I moved, Sophie let out a painful groan.
Not daring to waste any time, I immediately called for an ambulance.
In the ambulance, Sophie surprisingly tried to comfort me.
"Come on, getting knocked into the hospital by your own boss? I guess it's my honor, right?"
I couldn't find it in me to laugh, so I just gently held her hand.
At the hospital, I saw a familiar figure.
Ethan!
He stood in the hospital lobby, holding his phone and seemingly confronting someone.
"What do you mean by this?"
"I know I shouldn't have gone through your things, but why did you book an abortion?"
"Is this really how you're going to treat me, Amanda?"
Hearing Amanda's name, I immediately understood.
It seemed Ethan and Amanda had fallen out.
But I didn't engage, pretending not to notice and prepared to follow the medical staff.
However, Ethan spotted me.
"Lucas!"
He stormed over.
"Stop!"
