When we were almost done with breakfast, Jelly walked in and not long after he came in, Ingrid followed.
And the moment I paid great attention to her, I noticed something different about her.
She looked more in control and as I locked eyes with her, I noticed how she effortlessly didn't bother to look in Flare's direction.
She came to an empty chair beside my mate, Ronald, and it was right across Flare's mate.
But instead of saying a word to them, she picked a glass and poured herself some orange juice which she gulped in one go and slammed the glass on the table before giving me her attention.
"Thank you for your hospitality, Mrs Clarice, I'll be taking my leave now."
With that, she headed out, making sure her dress brushed against Rhema and I noticed how she flinched slightly. This was the first time she was calling me Mrs with respect.
"Excuse me," I politely excused myself and went after her.
Once I was out of the dining room, I called after her.
