The more Qian Daoliu spoke, the brighter the light in his eyes became.
But—
"The divine seat of the Angel God isn't something you get to decide anymore," Ye Wen said calmly.
Qian Daoliu's movements froze instantly, his gaze fixed firmly on Ye Wen. Even though Ye Wen was now the Sea God, Qian Daoliu was still willing to draw his sword for his faith.
Seeing their eldest brother regain his fighting spirit, the six other elders didn't back down either. They immediately activated their martial soul attachments.
In an instant, the solemn Shrine of Offerings was illuminated by a dazzling array of soul rings.
The most striking among them was the Second Elder, Jin E Douluo. In addition to his eight regular soul rings, his ninth soul ring was a rare 100,000-year soul ring—one of only a handful on the continent.
Faced with these seven top-tier Title Douluos, Ye Wen remained completely unfazed.
While he acknowledged their faith and loyalty, this wasn't justification for them to raise their weapons against him. With just a slight release of his divine pressure, Ye Wen pinned all seven of them firmly in place.
At this moment, the seven elders knelt awkwardly on one knee, but none of them bowed their heads. Instead, they defiantly stared up at Ye Wen.
Clap, clap, clap.
Ye Wen lightly applauded and smiled.
"Indeed, worthy of the thousand-year foundation of the Spirit Hall—I acknowledge your strength. However, I hope you understand the gap between us.
If we were to truly fight, none of you would last even a single exchange with me. So, I hope you'll calm down. After all, I bear no ill will toward the Spirit Hall."
With that, Ye Wen released the pressure. The seven elders exchanged complex glances, finally understanding the vast chasm between gods and mortals.
Unless they were prepared for mutual destruction, none of them dared to make a move.
After all, Ye Wen had subdued them all with nothing more than his overwhelming aura.
It was akin to how they crushed weaker opponents below the Soul Sage level—there was simply no chance of victory.
Moreover, Ye Wen's demeanor gave them hope that there might be room for negotiation. They all wanted to hear what Ye Wen intended to do.
But the most agonizing person here was Qian Daoliu. The divine seat of the Angel God was meant for Qian Renxue—it absolutely couldn't fall into the wrong hands.
At this moment, Ye Wen chuckled and turned to address someone outside the shrine.
"This matter concerns Miss Qian Renxue. Why don't you come in and listen?"
Only then did the elders notice that Qian Renxue had appeared outside the hall, her expression complex as she gazed at Ye Wen.
Feeling everyone's eyes on her, Qian Renxue stepped inside and gave a slight bow. "Greetings, Lord Sea God, greetings to all the elders."
Qian Daoliu grew even more tense.
You foolish granddaughter! What are you doing walking in now? We still don't know if he's friend or foe!
Unlike the vague perception of divine consciousness, Qian Renxue's actual presence left Ye Wen genuinely impressed.
In terms of noble bearing alone, even Tang Yuehua from the past couldn't compare to Qian Renxue.
At this moment, Qian Renxue spoke. "Thank you, Lord Sea God, for not making things difficult for my grandfather and the other elders. May I ask what your plans are regarding the divine seat of the Angel God?"
Ye Wen looked at Qian Renxue with interest—not out of lust—but because her composed and polite demeanor made it hard to associate her with the love-struck character from the original storyline.
Neither arrogant nor servile, measured in her words and actions, and backed by a top-tier power, Qian Renxue would have been nearly invincible without those troublesome complications.
Even under Ye Wen's prolonged gaze, Qian Renxue didn't show any irritation. Instead, she smiled faintly as she met his gaze.
Ye Wen decided not to beat around the bush and spoke directly.
"If you become the Angel God, you will die, and the Angel divine core will also be destroyed."
Upon hearing this, Qian Renxue showed little reaction, but Qian Daoliu immediately blurted out, "Why!"
Qian Daoliu didn't think Ye Wen was exaggerating. With Ye Wen's level of power, there was no reason for him to lie to them.
However, Ye Wen had already lost interest in Qian Daoliu. He now focused on Qian Renxue, curious about her reaction.
Qian Renxue lowered her beautiful eyes, seemingly deep in thought.
Seeing her remain silent for a long time, Ye Wen asked, "You seem to be pondering something. Would you mind sharing it so I can help you think it through?"
At this, Qian Renxue snapped out of her thoughts. She glanced at Ye Wen before nodding slightly.
"Mm. I believe, as the Sea God, you should understand better than I do the doubts troubling me.
Since I was young, I've often had strange visions in my dreams.
In these visions, I always feel as though I've transformed into the Angel God, locked in battle with another god—a figure wielding a sharp sword and exuding an ominous aura of slaughter.
And every time, the outcome is the same: as the Angel God, I'm gravely injured and forced to flee to the Douluo Continent.
At the end of the dream, there seem to be other figures as well, but as I've grown older, the memories have become too hazy for me to recall clearly."
At this point, Qian Daoliu rushed over to Qian Renxue, urgently asking, "Xue'er, why have you never told me about this?"
Facing her grandfather's questioning, Qian Renxue's usually calm face showed a hint of embarrassment.
Rarely displaying such a girlish demeanor, she stammered, "It was just a childhood dream, Grandfather. Please don't dwell on it.
If Lord Sea God hadn't mentioned the Angel God today, I wouldn't have connected my dreams to Her."
Qian Renxue's words struck like thunder, connecting all the pieces of information Ye Wen had gathered thus far.
Qian Daoliu muttered, "My god was gravely wounded by an enemy in the divine realm, which is why…"
Though he didn't finish his sentence, everyone present understood the implication.
Ye Wen nodded slightly and said,
"That's correct. It's highly likely that the Angel God's fall was caused by the god Qian Renxue described.
And Qian Renxue herself may very well be the reincarnation of your Angel God. At the very least, in my perception, Miss Qian Renxue's soul is different from that of ordinary people on the Douluo Continent.
Even among the Angel martial soul users of your Qian family, none possess that unique aura. That is the aura of divine consciousness—an exclusive trait of god-level beings."
Upon hearing this, Qian Daoliu stumbled and fell to his knees before Qian Renxue.
This panicked Qian Renxue. No matter what, Qian Daoliu was still her grandfather. Even if she might be the reincarnation of the Angel God, she had no memories of it.
She hurriedly helped Qian Daoliu up. If he actually knelt, things would get out of hand.
Once Qian Daoliu was helped up, he regained some composure.
He looked at Qian Renxue with a slightly complicated expression.
Though Qian Daoliu didn't fully believe Ye Wen's words, he trusted them to about eighty percent.
In the divine realm, perhaps only such an event could lead to the downfall of the great Angel God.
If the Angel God had enemies in the divine realm, even if she were to recover her divine seat and return, her chances of survival would be slim.
