Qian Daoliu scrutinized the son of his old friend before him.
After a moment, he sneered, "That Tang Chen really lost his mind. He didn't even pass on the true cultivation method of the Hao Tian Hammer before going off to seek divine trials. No wonder you're only at level 97 at your age."
Without another word, Qian Daoliu raised his hand and summoned a longsword interwoven with gold and white light.
This was the very weapon that had earned Qian Daoliu his legendary reputation as the "Sword Immortal" across the continent—the Angel Sword.
Tang Wei seemed to realize something, but with calamity upon him, there was no way to turn back. He could only sigh helplessly and close his eyes in resignation.
Ultimately, he was the son of an old friend. Qian Daoliu did not mutilate Tang Wei's body but instead thrust his sword through Tang Wei's heart, then withdrew it and departed gracefully.
Tang Wei collapsed weakly into the seat of honor, his gaze dim and filled with regret for his life. If only he had better educated Tang Hao and his brother back then, perhaps today's disaster could have been avoided.
"Tang Xiao has a steady mind. Perhaps he can ensure the continuation of the Hao Tian Sect."
With that thought, Tang Wei closed his eyes for the final time, his body becoming a corpse.
When the forces of the Spirit Hall arrived at this place, the Hao Tian Sect was already deserted.
As for Tang Wei's body, they dared not desecrate it. A Title Douluo, even in death, commanded respect—something these soul masters below the rank of Title Douluo could not casually disregard. Tang Wei's final resting place would be the Hall of Titles within Spirit City.
What followed was the most brutal massacre.
Led by the four great families under the Hao Tian Sect, they scattered in all directions, dispersing the Spirit Hall's pursuit to the greatest extent possible. However, after this battle, these affiliated forces would no longer dare to claim allegiance to the Hao Tian Sect, fearing retaliation from the Spirit Hall.
Though the four single-attribute families were the strongest, they were also the most targeted. Among their current patriarchs, only Bai He, the future maternal uncle of Tang San, survived—all the others were killed.
After all, when it came to escape, the Swift-tailed Swallow martial soul was considered one of the fastest martial souls, nearing the pinnacle of speed.
But its combat strength was utterly pitiful.
As she reviewed the reports handed to her by her subordinates, Bibi Dong's expression remained calm, yet cold.
"Continue the hunt. Ensure that none of these affiliated forces harbor any Soul Douluo. This time, we must cripple the Hao Tian Sect."
The Hao Tian Sect's escape strategy was carefully planned. They split into five groups, each led by a Title Douluo-level elder of the sect, accompanied by a group of clansmen.
According to prior arrangements, though the Hao Tian Sect would not be exterminated entirely, all Super Douluos above level 95 would be mercilessly eliminated.
Qian Daoliu's perception abilities were extraordinarily sharp. After killing Tang Wei, he immediately locked onto Elder Great, who had fled dozens of kilometers away.
Though Qian Daoliu had some recollection of this person, it was no reason to show mercy. With a single strike, he decapitated the highest pillar of strength within the Hao Tian Sect.
Yet, despite effortlessly eliminating two level 97 Title Douluos, Qian Daoliu still felt a lingering unease in his heart.
His gaze darkened slightly as he glanced at the Hao Tian Sect disciples below, many of whom had already lost control of their lower bodies in fear.
A flash of killing intent crossed his eyes. In the blink of an eye, over a hundred people were slaughtered by Qian Daoliu alone.
Because Elder Great possessed the highest cultivation, many of the Hao Tian Sect disciples instinctively chose to follow him during the division of groups. Little did they know, this made them the first target for extermination.
Though Qian Daoliu appeared ethereal and otherworldly, he was, in truth, a ruthless executioner.
In the past, to solidify the Spirit Hall's dominance, he had personally traveled across the continent to eliminate any potential threats to the Spirit Hall.
Even a remote island nation like Xili Stone Country, whose citizens displayed exceptional aptitude, aroused his suspicion. He sent five Soul Douluo to annihilate them. (Manga side story)
Had it not been for the father of the Sword Douluo, the Supreme Douluo Chen Jianjun, stationed there, he might have succeeded.
However, Chen Jianjun, obsessed with the sword, later challenged the renowned Sword Immortal—or rather, Qian Daoliu, the wielder of the Angel Sword—and ultimately perished at his hands.
As for the fate of Xili Stone Country, it remains unknown. But it's likely they met a grim end. After all, while Chen Jianjun could protect them once, he couldn't safeguard them for life.
Next, Qian Daoliu headed toward another direction where Elder Second, a level 95 Hao Tian Hammer Title Douluo, had fled. Within his hunting range, the outcome was equally merciless—a bloodbath left in his wake. Finally, having vented his frustrations, Qian Daoliu returned to the Spirit Hall with an air of elegance.
On his way back, Qian Daoliu even mused, 'With such a display of killing chickens to scare the monkeys, no one on the Douluo Continent will dare to provoke the Spirit Hall again.'
But little did he know, this extermination campaign had fully awakened the two great empires' upper three sects to the threat posed by the Spirit Hall.
How could they tolerate a tiger lurking beside their beds?
Not long after, rumors began spreading from the Seven Treasures Glazed Tile Sect about the unity of the upper three sects.
Lacking the strength of Title Douluos, the two great empires began actively courting the upper three sects.
As for Tian Xing Academy, they too wished to recruit them. After all, a level 98 Super Douluo was still highly coveted—even now. Bringing them into their camp would provide immense peace of mind.
Unfortunately, Tian Xing Academy had clearly declared its neutral stance since its founding, leaving the two great empires with no choice but to abandon their attempts.
Still, the methods Tian Xing Academy used to cultivate soul masters were exceptionally advanced. Secretly, the two great empires sent many promising young talents to Tian Xing Academy.
Since the Spirit Hall wasn't ready to engage in open warfare just yet, they decided to let them cultivate a new generation of outstanding talents.
They didn't expect results as extraordinary as Ye Wen's Ten Outstanding Disciples—but even half their potential would suffice. With just that, they could hope for future Title Douluos, avoiding the current state of passivity.
At this point, three of the Hao Tian Sect's six Title Douluos had fallen. According to Qian Daoliu's plan, at least two would remain for the Hao Tian Sect.
Looking at the reports of the remaining three groups of the Hao Tian Sect's fleeing forces, Bibi Dong's lips curled into a faint, cold smile.
Don't misunderstand—it wasn't directed at the Hao Tian Sect. Such a trashy sect wasn't even worth her disdain.
What Bibi Dong looked down on was Qian Daoliu.
To hesitate in accomplishing great deeds out of self-preservation was unworthy of strategy. This was knowledge she had learned from being close to Ye Wen.
Having already incurred a mortal enmity, why show such leniency? You may be strong now, but human life is finite. In the future, when the Spirit Hall grows weak, won't you fear that they'll come for you?
If the storyline proceeded normally, the Spirit Hall would indeed be annihilated by the future ten Title Douluos of the Hao Tian Sect.
"What a pity."
Bibi Dong lamented, missing this opportunity. Who knew when they'd get another chance to act.
"But with us around, your Hao Tian Sect will never rise again.
You can cling to life for now. You may not be wrong, but standing in the way of the gods' plans is your original sin."
