Then she spoke, her voice smooth yet laced with quiet authority yet with respect.
"Which faction do you belong to, demon?"
"Uhh... what?" I muttered, still dazed from the sudden question.
Before I could even think of a reply, another translucent screen materialized before my eyes.

'What... I'm a demon now?!'
My breath caught in my throat as I processed the revelation.
A 49% demon bloodline… no wonder she was suspicious.
From her perspective, I was part of the Demon Faction.
"So?" Liris pressed again, her abyssal eyes sharp and unwavering.
"Which faction are you a part of?"
I forced myself to stay calm, pushing through my spiraling thoughts.
I needed a cover story, Quickly right Now.
'Think, Victor, Think.'
I mentally sifted through my knowledge of the game, recalling all the demon factions that might still exist.
Then, a plausible answer clicked into place.
'Ohhh..Yeah I Think I can Used That.'
With newfound confidence, I smirked.
"I'm a spy for the New Order. I'm currently infiltrating the Lumina Academy of Hero Arts."
In the game, The New Order was a secret demonic organization composed of demonic humans like myself and Chaos monsters.
Most of its members were wiped out by the protagonist near the end, but it was never completely destroyed.
If even a handful of its cultists survived, then there was a chance it still existed in this world.
Liris narrowed her eyes. "New Order? What is that?"
I felt my heart skip a beat.
"There's no organization within the Demon Faction by that name," she continued coldly.
"Why are you lying to me?"
Before I could respond, steel flashed.
Her sword was at my throat.
'Shit... SHIT. I messed up. Don't panic. Think it through.'
A bead of sweat trickled down my forehead, but I held my composure.
"If you so much as breathe another lie," she said, her voice sharp as her blade,
"I will slice your head clean off."
I exhaled slowly, keeping my voice calm.
"The reason you've never heard of us is because our organization is hidden. The Sword Saint is currently hunting our members down. You do know how powerful the Sword Saint is, don't you?"
Her grip on the hilt of her sword tightened.
She didn't answer immediately, but I saw a flicker of hesitation in her expression.
'Good. That means she knows I'm not completely lying.'
"If the Sword Saint is hunting your group," she finally asked, her voice filled with doubt, "why would you go to a place where he is a teacher?"
I smiled. "Because my mission is to monitor him to track his movements and report back."
A tense silence stretched between us.
Then, after what felt like an eternity, she slowly withdrew her sword, sliding it back into its sheath.
"We seem to have the same destination, then," she said, her voice returning to its usual calm confidence. "I'm assuming you're already registered at the academy, given that watch on your wrist."
I glanced down.
Sure enough, there was a sleek, silver device wrapped around my wrist likely my student identification.
She must have one too.
"By the way," I asked casually, "what should I call you?"
She met my gaze, her expression unreadable.
"In the Demon Kingdom, I am Liris de Redgrave, of the Redgrave family," she said with pride. "But in the human world, I go by Celestia lo Aurora, of the Aurora family."
My mind reeled.
"Redgrave… as in the Redgrave? One of the Three Great Noble Families?" I asked, feigning surprise.
She smirked.
"Yes. That Redgrave."
"Wow…" I muttered, acting suitably awed.
Internally, I was just relieved she didn't question how I knew the name.
'Most authors in the novels I've read always make the MC say the FL's name before she even introduces herself, and the FL never questions it. It's so stupid. At least this way, I won't make that mistake.'
I let out a small chuckle, adjusting my expression into something between admiration and intrigue.
This game world was more dangerous than I had imagined.
And if I wanted to survive, I needed to be careful especially around her.
