The sound of a spoon clinking against the side of a glass bowl echoed in the quiet kitchen as Lunara stirred the eggs, lost in her own thoughts.
"Is it true?"
The sudden voice behind her made her jump. Her hand jerked, knocking the bowl off the edge of the counter. It hit the floor with a loud crash, eggs splattering everywhere.
Lunara's eyes widened as she turned around, her heart still racing from the sudden scare.
Naomi stood there, wide-eyed, guilt written all over her face. "Wait… sorry! I didn't mean to scare you! I just—" she stepped closer, lowering her voice, "I saw the news yesterday. They're saying you're pregnant. Is it true?"
"Pregnant?" A crease formed between Lunara's brows before she let out a small sigh. "I'm not." She rolled her eyes as she crouched down, beginning to pick up the broken pieces of the bowl.
"Auntie!" Naomi suddenly called out to the maid nearby, "Can you help clean this up?"
