Lunara stood frozen as Eryx's car disappeared down the road.
The moment the red taillights were out of sight, her knees buckled, and she squatted down on the gravel.
'He really left me.'
A shaky breath escaped her lips before the tears started falling. She bit down hard on her lip, trying to stop the sobs, but it was useless. The pain in her chest felt unbearable.
She didn't even know what hurt more the fact that he left or the fact that, deep down, she never expected him to.
Minutes passed. Maybe five, maybe more. She barely managed to calm herself, wiping her damp cheeks before pulling out her phone. Her hands trembled as she tapped on the screen, searching for a ride.
'Forget it. Just leave.'
She booked a Grab car and waited. When it arrived, she slipped inside without hesitation, giving the driver the address of a nearby hotel. She didn't know what else to do. She just needed to be alone.
Meanwhile, Eryx was still there.
