-[Glayshollow Forest]-

The frozen serenity of Glayshollow Forest lay blanketed in thick snow. Crystalline trees shimmered like glass statues, and a veil of mist hugged the forest floor. Faint, eerie blue glows emanated from bioluminescent arcane mushrooms, flickering like wisps lost in time. Somewhere within this silent dreamscape, danger brewed beneath the stillness.

Yukinox moved cautiously, her boots crunching gently against the frosted terrain. Her breath puffed in visible plumes, and her coat fluttered faintly with each step. Her short light blue hair shakes due to cold frost air. She scanned her surroundings.

"Hmmnn... Abomirilla, Abomirilla... These rare encounter super bosses are hella hard to find. Well, unless you're someone like Hoshi-san with high maxed-out stats on Luck... Jeez, what a real pain..."

Tapping a holographic screen in front of her, she flipped through her current crafting objectives. The last item needed to forge her new Mecha Core was the Ice-Encased Heart of Abomirilla—a rare elite drop only acquired by defeating the snowbound monster in this cursed forest.

A soft growl echoed.

Yukinox snapped her head around just as six Snow Wolves lunged from behind the icy thickets. Their fur bristled with frost, and steam flared from their muzzles.

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

"Let's go then."

With a fluid motion, Yukinox unsheathed her new Astral Render Longsword. The blade shimmered with a faint starry aura.

She dashed sideways to intercept the first wolf, grabbing its fur mid-pounce. Using its momentum, she hurled it into the air. In a split-second follow-up, she launched upward—

SLASH!

A vertical arc split through the falling wolf as a glimmering trail of astral particles followed her blade.

WHOOSH!

Yukinox spun midair, descending in a corkscrew to cleave through two more wolves as they leapt toward her. Her blade whistled as it traced perfect spirals in the air.

Another wolf lunged from behind.

CLANG!

Her longsword caught its claws mid-swipe. She pushed off its forearm and countered with a glowing dual slash:

Longsword Warrior Skill: Double Swinger Slash!

Two diagonal crossing energy waves carved into the beast's body, reducing it to a fading digital haze.

She pivoted instantly—

Astral Render Skill: Star-Forced Piercer!

Her sword flared with cosmic power. She lunged forward with a piercing thrust, the visual overlay showing a colossal, comic-style star impact. The blade tore through the creature's ribcage like starlight spearing the void.

Another Snow Wolf leapt at her.

With a swift uppercut of her boot, she kicked its jaw, flipping it skyward.

SCHWING!

A savage upward stab impaled the wolf's exposed belly, and she hurled it aside with a fierce horizontal swing.

The last remaining wolf growled, backing up.

It raised its muzzle to howl to call for backup—

"Nope!"

Yukinox blurred forward in a flash.

Astral Render Skill: Falling Star Strike!

She leapt high, sword raised overhead. The blade surged with streaks of white, pale blue, and yellow starlight

CRASH!

Her overhead strike smashed into the wolf's skull, cutting the howl short as celestial sparks burst from the impact.

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

Silence returned.

She exhaled slowly and sipped a minor stamina potion. Her breath steadied as she pressed on, scooping up herbs and resources: Herb Flakes, Frosted Stones, and Ice Barks. She took out a few more roaming mobs with precise efficiency—no wasted motion, no unnecessary strikes.

Just as she picked up another Herb Flake—

RUMMMBLE!

The snow cracked beneath her. An enormous Ice Golem erupted from the ground with a chilling roar.

Yukinox's sword was already in hand.

"Tch... third Ice Golem today... When am I ever gonna encounter that damn—"

BOOOM!

A massive white blur rocketed past her and smashed its golden-furred fist into the Ice Golem's center.

KA-THOOOOOM!

The elemental giant was sent crashing and rolling backward like a snowball hit by a freight train.

Yukinox blinked. When the snowscreen cleared, she saw a towering, polar bear-themed player avatar standing before her.

His body was clad in a full bear costume—complete with a bear head mask. He wore black shorts, chunky black boots, a regal red cape, and a small golden crown resting on the bear's head. His hands were wrapped in shining golden knuckle dusters.

A second player dashed up beside her, panting.

"HEY! WHY'D YOU DO THAT, URSA?! YOU JUST STOLE THIS GUY'S KILL, YO!!"

The voice came from a long red-haired avatar with a hearty build. He wore a black turtleneck under a white lab coat, white gloves, black pants, and brown shoes.

"Sorry about my friend," he said, turning to Yukinox. "He's kinda... addicted to fighting mobs. A total battle junkie."

Yukinox, still hidden behind her male voice changer, replied coolly:

"Oh, don't worry. I didn't even want to fight that Ice Golem. He can have it."

"Sweet! Thanks, man. I'm Suki-yummy, by the way. My class is Cleric, subclass Alchemist. My Exo Ability? Wild Bubble! And this silent battle lunatic is Ursalott—he's a Brawler with the Martial Artist subclass. His Exo Ability is called Freight Train Rush: Full Steam Ahead!"

He twirled his staff proudly.

"Mecha Rider, Longsword Warrior," Yukinox responded. "Exo Ability: Glacial Rewrite."

"Nice!" Suki-yummy grinned. "So, what brings you to Glayshollow? XP grind?"

"Nah... I'm trying to get a rare spawn. The Abomirilla."

Suki-yummy's eyes lit up.

"Oh-ho! You're after that ice ape thing, huh? Good news—I'm full Arcana and Luck build. Why don't you join us? We'll help you find it faster."

Yukinox paused, calculating.

"...Thanks. That helps a ton."

With a firm nod, she stepped beside them. Together, they turned to watch Ursalott, now facing against the Ice Golem.

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

The moment Ursalott activated Bear Type: Black, the snowy battlefield was drenched in a ripple of energy. His Polar Bear suit shimmered, shifting hues like ink bleeding into snow, until it transformed into a sleek Black Bear. This mode wasn't just cosmetic—it brought heightened strength, enhanced skill durations, and significantly reduced cooldowns for all of his Brawler Skills.

The Ice Golem, its frame jagged with frost, surged forward with a booming whooooomph, arm cocked for a brutal thrust.

But Ursalott moved like liquid muscle.

"Brawler Skill: Urban Counter!"

He caught the Golem's arm mid-thrust, twisted with a torque of his entire torso, and kneed it hard—crack!—right into a fragile joint. Before the Golem could even register the pain, Ursalott spun and flung the massive creature across the snowy ground.

The ground trembled under the Golem's weight as it rolled.

Ursalott dashed in.

"Brawler Skill: Stand Up Kick!"

A powerful upward strike launched the Ice Golem back into a staggered stand, ice chunks flaking from its shins. Ursalott surged in again.

"Brawler Skill: Steel Swing Combo!"

Left. Right. Left. A right hook. A left jab. A stright right punch. Then a smashing overhand right haymaker like thunder crashing down—BOOM!—the final blow rocked the Golem back, nearly tipping it over.

Then—

Bear Type: Panda

His bear suit shimmered again, shifting from obsidian black to fluffy monochrome white and black. The moment it solidified into the form of a Panda, Ursalott's power refined itself. His Martial Artist skills now pulsed with explosive grace: more damage, longer durations, faster cooldowns.

He vanished in a blur—

"Martial Artist Skill: Iron Palm Break!"

—reappearing directly in front of the Ice Golem. A single, focused palm strike drove into the Golem's chest, BAM!, sending tremors through its frame as it slid back several meters.

He wasn't done.

Ursalott rushed across the snow—spun—reversed and skidded.

"Martial Artist Skill: Reverse Elbow to the Gut!"

A punishing elbow shot crushed into the Golem's gut with a whomp! that made the air lightly shiver. Before the enemy could recover, Ursalott transitioned smoothly:

"Martial Artist Skill: Judo Throw Slammer!"

He hooked the Golem's arm, twisted with perfect form, and slammed it with a monstrous impact into the frozen earth—CRASH!

The Golem gasped with icy steam escaping from its fractured body.

Ursalott repositioned with perfect ground control.

"Martial Artist Skill: Ground Pinned, Heavy Fist!"

He dropped his knee straight into the Golem's gut—CRUNCH—pinning it hard. Then, bracing his full body weight, he coiled back and delivered a single, devastating punch directly into the Golem's crumbling face.

BOOOOOM!!

Cracks spiderwebbed across the Ice Golem's crystal face before it shattered like a pane of frostbitten glass. With a groaning creak, the entire creature collapsed in on itself and exploded into sparkling particles.

Victory.

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

The mist parted slowly as Ursalott stood tall.

With a swift motion, he activated Bear Type once again,

Bear Type: Polar Bear

The black-and-white Panda faded, replaced by the regal and burly form of the Polar Bear, his white form.

Behind him, Suki-yummy shouted with awe and clapped excitedly.

"Dude, you wrecked that thing! That was like watching a bear-themed martial arts anime in real life!" he said, eyes sparkling.

Yukinox, arms crossed and voice modulated, simply nodded. "Okay... that was pretty cool, and he really didn't give that Ice Golem a chance at all..."

"Yessir! Ursalott here likes to go headfirst into battle, giving it everything he's got—and I mean everything," Suki-yummy chimed with a grin. "He's all about chaining skills into skills, never letting up. Kinda likes to end fights before they even start."

Yukinox glanced over, arms folded under her cloak, intrigued. "So what do you do?"

"Basically his healer," Suki-yummy said sheepishly, scratching the side of his cheek with a gloved finger. "But I like to have fun with it too. When we're synced up? We're basically an unstoppable duo."

Their footsteps carried them deeper into the frozen forest. Ancient pines loomed high overhead, coated in ice, and the trail narrowed between snow-dusted boulders. Yukinox looked over at Ursalott's towering form clad in his oversized bear costume.

"So what's with the bear suit? And why's he wear that big fluffy thing?"

"Ohhh, that's not just any suit," Suki-yummy perked up. "It's an exotic rarity costume. When he wears both the bear head and full-body suit together, it unlocks a special ability: he can change the type of bear—each one gives him different buffs."

Yukinox snapped her fingers lightly, catching on. "So that's why he switched from polar bear to black bear to panda during the last fight."

"Yessir!" Suki-yummy beamed, and a pair of imaginary nerdy glasses appeared on his face like a hologram as he began explaining like a teacher. "Check it out—Brown Bear gives him bonus strength and damage, and even a chance to inflict bleed. Red Panda boosts his perception and agility, and gives him Awareness Dodge. Polar Bear grants frost resistance and frost-infused attacks. Black Bear boosts damage, extends duration, and reduces cooldowns on his Brawler skills. And Panda? Panda amps all that for Martial Artist skills."

Ursalott, meanwhile, crouched by a snowy herb bush, calmly gathering Herb Flakes. Once done, he stood and caught back up with the other two, silent but alert.

Then Suki-yummy paused, blinking as realization struck. He pointed a mittened finger at Yukinox. "Wait a second... You're that Yukinox, aren't you? The streamer who took down the first Unique Boss with that False Starter Quest Breaker Hoshigari and the 4th-ranked Spear Princess Yukihikari?"

Yukinox let out a meek laugh, rubbing the back of her head. "Ah... yeah. That's me."

"Was it hard?" he asked.

"We would've failed without Hoshigari's insight into the boss's weakness," she admitted, her voice quiet, humbled by the memory.

"That guy's hella powerful, huh?" Suki-yummy tilted his head, genuinely impressed.

"Actually, in the past VRMMORPGs he played before, he usually mains and masters the melee classes. But in Exo-Arcana Online, he's challenging himself by going with a ranged class."

"Still pretty cracked with it though," Suki-yummy said, hands behind his head.

Yukinox nodded. "He's incredibly skilled with the Ranger class. Knows how to use his positioning, bullet count, and cooldowns like second nature."

There was a brief pause. Suki-yummy seemed to think, then perked up again. "Oh, uh, you already in a clan? Me and Ursa here were thinking of starting or joining one—wanna party up?"

"Ah, sorry, I'm already in a clan," Yukinox said quickly.

"Eh? Which one?" Suki-yummy asked, already flicking open his in-game menu and scrolling the EAO clan list.

"It's a newer one. Me, Hoshigari, Sushi Slice, and Makidon formed it. We call ourselves Starlight Recoil."

"Starlight Recoil…" Suki-yummy muttered, scrolling. "Star… Star… Ah! Found you guys! Yup—four members: Hoshigari, Yukinox, Sushi Slice, and Makidon. Sushi Slice is your leader, right?"

"Yup, that's us." Yukinox gave a wink and a snap of her fingers.

Suki-yummy turned to Ursalott. "What do you think of joining their clan, Ursa? Could be fun, right?"

Ursalott pondered it for a moment. Then, with a thoughtful nod and a confident thumbs-up, he agreed.

Suki-yummy turned back to Yukinox, eyes bright. "Yo, me and Ursa here are thinking of joining. That cool with you?"

"Uhh, yeah, sure," she said with a shrug and a smile. "Go ahead."

Both Suki-yummy and Ursalott popped open their interface windows, screens glowing faint blue in front of them. With practiced flicks, they sent clan join requests to Starlight Recoil's clan leader—Sushi Slice.

Suki-yummy grinned. "Well, I think I'll have fun in this clan. What do you think, Ursa?"

Ursalott gave a firm nod.

But then—

A shadow loomed.

Without hesitation, Ursalott's instincts kicked in. His massive arms reached out, grabbing Yukinox and Suki-yummy by the backs of their collars. He launched backwards in a leap.

"WOAH!" Yukinox and Suki-yummy cried in unison.

Ursalott landed hard with a skidding halt as something crashed down in front of them with explosive force. Snow erupted into the air, a towering plume blasting skyward. Trees shook from the tremor. Snowfall halted as silence claimed the area.

The snowy mist began to clear.

And from it—

A colossal creature stood tall, its breath steaming like jets, its hide white as snow...

Suki-yummy pointed with a fierce energy. "Ah there it is, yo!"

"Finally…" Yukinox muttered with a dramatic roll of her eyes.

Ursalott gave a small nod of agreement.

Then, slowly, he released his grip on his allies. Eyes locked forward.

The fight was just about to begin.

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

-[You Have Encountered the Rare Encounter Beast - Abomirilla]-

A guttural roar shattered the silence as an enormous white-furred beast, eyes glowing blood-red, burst from the blizzard. Its hulking form almost dwarfed the party—spikes of jagged ice protruding from its back like a frozen crown.

It slammed its fists against its chest with thunderous force of a drum, sending a burst of frost spiraling outwards.

"As per usual, I'mma stay back and continuously heal both of y'all," Suki-yummy announced, twirling his crystalline staff in a practiced spin. He drove it into the snow with a soft crunch and opened his glowing tome of healing.

Behind him, Yukinox cracked a grin. "Alright!"

She held her 1CE 83RG Mecha Core in her right hand, casually tossing it into the air and catching it with flair.

Ursalott clenched his fists and activated Bear Type: Black, the group knew what that meant.

His furred suit shimmered and shifted, polar white fading into a sleek black hue. Ursalott charged forward like a jet-propelled train, slamming a right hook into the beast's torso.

THOOOOM!

Abomirilla was launched back, skidding across the ice in a spray of snow and frost.

From behind, Yukinox shouted, "Gotta go big!"

She activated the Mecha Core.

With a burst of white-blue light, her massive mecha—1CE 83RG—materialized behind her. She dematerialized, syncing seamlessly into the cockpit as the armor plates locked into place.

Mecha Transferance Complete.

The mech launched forward with a sonic boom. Abomirilla, now regaining its footing, swung a massive icy fist straight into Ursalott's gut, launching him into the air like a ragdoll.

He slammed down into a crouched skid, his feet grinding against the snow. No hesitation. He charged right back in.

The beast unleashed a devastating right hook—

But Ursalott countered.

Brawler Skill: Urban Counter

He grabbed the incoming fist mid-air, delivered a powerful knee strike to it's arm, spun, and hurled the creature across the field.

THWACK—BOOM—KRSHH!

Before the beast could land, 1CE 83RG was already there, riding along the wheels on it's feet.

Mecha Rider Skill: Full Speed Roller

The mech grabbed Abomirilla by the throat, slammed it face-first into the ice, and dragged it violently across the ground, sparks, snow and ice shards flying and blasting up. Then with a twist, the mech hurled the beast into the air.

Yukinox's voice echoed through the battlefield. "Airlock mode! Gatling!!"

Mecha Rider Skill: Casc-Berg Gatling

The mech's right arm shifted and spun, transforming into a spinning multi-barrel energy gatling gun. Red bolts lit the sky in a blinding spray, riddling the airborne beast with precise hits.

From below, Ursalott leapt—

Martial Artist Skill: Frog-Fold Leap

He twisted mid-air.

Brawler Skill: Crasher Fall Fist

His form crashed down on Abomirilla like a meteor, smashing it into the frozen ground. Ice exploded on impact, snow blasting into the sky like a geyser.

Yukinox followed up without missing a beat.

Mecha Rider Skill: Casc-Berg Cannon

The mech's arm transformed again—this time into a cannon—and launched a red-glowing energy bolt that struck the downed beast dead center.

KABOOOOOM!

Steam hissed. The battlefield fell momentarily silent.

Then—

A roar, louder than before.

Abomirilla surged upward, eyes now glowing electric blue. It slammed both fists into the ground.

CRACK-K-K-K!

Massive spikes of ice erupted across the battlefield in a radial burst. Three pierced into 1CE 83RG's frame. Two stabbed Ursalott's flank. He grunted, not in pain—but readiness.

The beast's form shimmered—ice armor encased its frame.

[Status Infusion: Frostborne Armored Shell – Physical attacks now inflict FROST DAMAGE and chance to FREEZE]

Ursalott adjusted. Without a word, he activated—

Bear Type: Polar Bear

His suit shimmered back into its white form. The chill now lessens.

Abomirilla launched a flurry of wild punches—

Ursalott blocked, tanking through with a solid stance.

Then came a new threat—the beast clasped its hands together for a sideways hammer strike.

Ursalott quickly toggled again—

Bear Type: Red Panda

His silhouette shrank slightly, growing a longer fluffier tail, basically shifting to agility mode.

He bobbed, weaved, dodging the sideways hammer swing—once, then again as it came around like a boomerang.

The beast jumped, fists overhead, glowing with a cold white aura—

BOOOOM!!

It slammed the double-fist hammer strike down—just as Ursalott flipped back out of range.

Snow blasted skyward.

Yukinox charged from behind.

Mecha Rider Skill: Cask-Rocket Fist

Thrusters ignited from her mech's right wrist, driving a crushing rocket-enhanced punch into the lower back of the beast, sending it staggering forward.

Ursalott didn't waste the opening.

Bear Type: Brown Bear

Base strength and damage returned to his form. He then activated—

Myth Spirit: Ashura

A translucent spectral figure of Ashura appeared behind him—then merged. Two holographic masks formed on each side of Ursalott's face. Six glowing horns materialized atop his head. Four more holographic arms burst, two from each of his sides. (The two holographic masks, six glowing horns, and the four holographic arms are each glowing in different elemental colorful hues: red, blue, green, yellow, purple, and orange.)

He stepped forward, twice.

Then unleashed:

Myth Spirit: Ashura Skill – Six-Armed Fury: Thousand Fold Destructive Barrage

A destructive whirlwind barrage of fists followed. All six arms struck in a mesmerizing sequence—jabs, palm strikes, hooks, uppercuts, chops, hammer strikes—long, relentless, surgical, devastating.

Yukinox wasn't done.

Mecha Rider Skill: Casc-Berg Rush

Steam hissed violently from the mech's joints and openings. Speed surged. She engaged:

Mecha Rider Skill: Casc-Berg Impact Barrage

A long relentless high-speed punch combo from behind. The sound of metal fists crashing echoed with almost bone-shattering force. The monster's body jerked under every blow.

Front and back—assault from both ends.

Relentless blows land.

Bones seems to crack.

Ice shattered.

The monster's howls and groans turned to gurgles.

And then—

Final Strike.

The mecha's rocket-powered fist and Ursalott's empowered strike collided into the beast's core from both directions.

BAAAAAAAM!!!

The ground cratered. Shockwaves exploded outward.

Abomirilla let out a final roar—

—and fell silent.

Its body crumbled into shards of ice, snow, pixels and faint light, disintegrating in the wind.

Yukinox exhaled a thin cloud of white mist as the final shimmer of her 1CE 83RG Mecha dematerialized back into a luminous mechanical orb, shrinking back into its dormant state. She caught the mechanical sphere mid-air, sliding it back into the hidden inner pocket of her jacket with a practiced flick.

The wind howled through the icy battlefield as she opened her reward screen.

"Oooh!~ Found a Hand-Held Cannon," Yukinox hummed, twirling the digital image with a finger. "Wonder if Hoshi-san would like to have it..."

She grinned before her gaze settled on the Ice Encased Heart—exactly the item she needed. A firm nod later, she dismissed the reward screen with a graceful swipe.

As she stretched her arms and cracked her knuckles, she glanced around. Nearby, Suki-yummy stood with a hand on his hip, and Ursalott sat cross-legged on the snow, examining their loot screens in thoughtful silence.

Yukinox walked over to them.

"So... I've reached level 50," she announced casually.

"Ah, the Myth Spirit, eh?" Suki-yummy tilted his head, smiling.

"Yup." Yukinox nodded, her expression quietly proud.

"You'll find the Myth Spirit Granter in the lobby of your clan building," Suki-yummy explained, sliding his menu open. "But if you're not in a clan—or even a clan building—you'll have to find the Granter in town halls or kingdom halls. They wander, apparently."

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

Yukinox nodded in understanding just as her message window pinged open with a translucent flicker.

[Message from Sushi Slice (!)]

[Sushi Slice]: Yu. Suki-yummy and Ursalott, who are these two?

[Yukinox]: 2 chill guys I met. Ursalott is a big silent powerhouse. Suki-yummy is a great backline healer.

[Sushi Slice]: Why do they wanna join our clan though?

[Yukinox]: They wanna join because of me and Hoshi-san. They're cool.

[Sushi Slice]: Alright, I'll meet them first for interviews and such. Ask them for a meet-up place.

[Yukinox]: alr

>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---<<<>>>---

She closed the chat box and turned back to the duo.

"My boss slash clan leader, Sushi Slice, says she wants to interview you two before confirming the clan invites," she relayed.

"Ah, cool. How about Herhyndale—there's this semi-popular restaurant for players, The Popping Spoon," Suki-yummy suggested, tapping his Digi-Map. "Ask her to meet us there."

While the conversation went on, Ursalott, still silent, had begun crafting a snowman. Large, neat snowballs rolled together and stacked with impressive symmetry.

"Alright. Thanks, I'll let her know," Yukinox responded.

"We're heading back to Herhyndale. I'll meet your clan leader there later—message me if she gives the green light," Suki-yummy said with a stretch and a yawn, dismissing his map.

Behind him, Ursalott placed the finishing touches on his snowman—two pebbles for eyes and a crooked branch smile—then stepped back, hands on hips, admiring his handiwork.

"Alright," Yukinox smiled.

Both players sent her friend requests.

[Player Suki-yummy has sent you a friend request]

[Suki-yummy - Friend Request Accepted]

[Player Ursalott has sent you a friend request]

[Ursalott - Friend Request Accepted]

"Mhm! Alrighty! See you again next time, Yukinox! We'll be heading off! Bye~!" Suki-yummy waved with both arms, animated and carefree.

Ursalott, ever the silent force, pitched a snowball straight into his snowman's head, watching it explode in a flurry of powder. Then, he turned and gave a big, slow wave back at Yukinox as he walked beside Suki-yummy.

"See ya!" Yukinox called, returning the wave with a grin.

The duo vanished into the snowy distance, footprints fading into the frost.

Yukinox let out a breath and pulled up her status screen again. Beneath her newly leveled-up stats, a glowing line pulsed gently:

{Myth Spirit - Available, head back to your Clan Building to meet the Myth Spirit Gifter}

She stared at it for a moment, her heart a tad bit light.

"I'll finally get my Myth Spirit, huh?"
