After retrieving the evidence he needed, Ye Chen didn't waste a moment. He immediately rushed back to the hospital where Liu Yue and her grandmother were staying. What he had discovered tonight would completely shake them.
Under the cover of night, Ye Chen landed silently on the hospital balcony. Fortunately, no one noticed his arrival. Without delay, he made his way to Situ Rui's room.
Liu Yue had been pacing restlessly. She'd searched the hospital grounds multiple times, but Ye Chen was nowhere to be found. His car was still parked outside, which made his sudden disappearance all the more strange.
Click.
The door creaked open, and Ye Chen stepped inside.
"Ye Chen! Where have you been?" Liu Yue hurried over, eyes filled with worry. "You vanished without a word!"
"I went to find out who was behind the poisoning," Ye Chen said calmly. "And I found something very interesting."
He pulled out his phone and played the video he had recorded. The screen showed Bai Sheng and Du Yao discussing their sinister plot.
Liu Yue's expression twisted in disbelief as she watched the footage. Her hands clenched into fists. "That bastard! I can't believe he'd go this far… poisoning my grandmother… and trying to control me?!"
Her voice rose sharply, waking Situ Rui from her sleep.
"Yue'er? What's wrong?" she asked groggily.
"Grandma, you need to see this," Liu Yue said, quickly handing her the phone.
Situ Rui watched the video from beginning to end. Her face darkened with each passing second. When the video ended, her hand trembled slightly as she handed the phone back.
"So this… this is the true face of Bai Sheng," she said bitterly. "I took that man in when he had nothing. He was poor, desperate… and I gave him a chance. I trusted him. I even made him the company's representative. And this is how he repays me?"
Her eyes shimmered with rage and disappointment. "I should've removed him long ago."
Ye Chen remained silent for a moment, then asked, "Madam Situ, do you know how many shareholders Bai Sheng controls now?"
"Eighty percent," she replied grimly. "If he gets control of the remaining shares through Liu Yue, the company is as good as his."
"Which is why we need to act before it's too late," Ye Chen said. "We don't have the luxury of time."
Situ Rui narrowed her eyes. "Where did you get this footage, Ye Chen?"
"It's best you don't ask," Ye Chen said with a slight smile. "What matters now is what we do with it. I already have a plan—but I'll need your full cooperation."
Liu Yue looked at him curiously. "What kind of plan?"
Ye Chen leaned in and laid it out in detail.
As they listened, both Liu Yue and Situ Rui grew more and more impressed. The plan was bold, but if executed properly, it would corner Bai Sheng and expose his crimes to everyone.
"It's a good plan," Liu Yue admitted, "but do you have proof of the financial embezzlement you mentioned? That's the part we'll need to crush him."
"I do," Ye Chen said confidently. He reached into his storage ring and pulled out a thick folder. "Everything Bai Sheng and his associates have been hiding is in here."
Liu Yue took the folder and opened it. Her jaw dropped as she skimmed through the documents. "This… this is everything! Years of forged accounts, unauthorized fund transfers, shell companies…"
She looked at Ye Chen in disbelief. "Where did you even get all this?"
"Let's just say I visited Bai Sheng's home personally," Ye Chen replied with a smirk.
Situ Rui also looked through the folder. Her hands shook slightly as she flipped through the pages. "This much money… Thirty percent of the company's total value has been stolen under our noses."
She took a deep breath and closed the folder. "This can't go unpunished. We need to hold a shareholder meeting tomorrow and expose everything."
Liu Yue nodded firmly. "I'll call my secretary and have the meeting scheduled. We'll make it official."
Ye Chen then took out a small bottle containing a glowing green pill. "Madam Situ, this is for you. It'll help purge any lingering traces of poison and speed up your recovery."
Situ Rui accepted it gratefully. "Thank you, Ye Chen. I don't know what we would've done without you."
"You don't have to thank me," Ye Chen said. "I just can't stand watching people like Bai Sheng take advantage of good people."
Liu Yue walked him to the door. "Make sure you come to the meeting tomorrow."
"I wouldn't miss it," Ye Chen replied with a nod before disappearing into the night.
