Roa expressionlessly waved the blood off the fruit knife. The maid's head was still in a daze, and strangely, even though she had been decapitated, her body didn't fall. Instead, she felt around her neck.
Then, the fallen head seemed to realize something and began to roar, "It hurts! Damn human, how dare you! You're just food…"
Without giving her a chance to rant, Roa kicked her head to the side, flipped the Sword in his hand, and easily severed her limbs.
With the sharpness of a fruit knife, it would naturally be impossible to so easily sever a neck, but with Roa's current physical strength, cutting off the necks of these lower-tier ghosts was more than enough.
The head rolled to the side of the table, wailing in sorrow. She angrily cursed Roa, mostly saying things like how humans, being mere bread (note: Dio's bread), shouldn't resist, and how she was a superior race, and he shouldn't treat her like this. These words were undoubtedly childish and ridiculous.
Roa didn't bother listening to her nonsense and turned his gaze to the woman still sitting on the bed, saying expressionlessly, "Next, it's your turn."
The blood-red eyes opened, and the red headscarf fell to the ground, revealing her face.
In contrast to Xiao Die's pretty face, her face was hideous, as if burned by fire. Roa coldly smiled at her, "Aren't you going to make a move?"
The fruit knife in Roa's hand spun, drawing a beautiful arc.
She just smiled and said, "Lord Muzan said that none of you will survive tonight."
Roa, who had been playing around, narrowed eyes slightly and looked at her, "Kibutsuji Muzan? What are you all doing?"
Who would have thought that the previously calm female ghost suddenly lunged at Roa, roaring, "Who allowed you to call that lord's name?"
Her body moved quickly, almost instantly, like a beast charging at Roa. The nails on her fingers grew longer, and her hands turned into Swords, stabbing fiercely at Roa.
Roa sidestepped without hesitation, and the fruit knife in his hand flashed with a blue light as he slashed at her. She didn't dodge, and her throat was cut by the Sword, but it quickly healed. She showed a hideous smile and said, "Even if you can cut off my head, what can you do? You're just a tiny…"
Before she could finish, Roa kicked her torso with great force.
A tremendous sent her flying. The wooden house wasn't of the best quality, and the strong inertia caused her to crash through the wall. Her chest caved in, and her once graceful figure was now a mess.
The female ghost fell to the ground, struggling to get up, but the intense pain made it impossible for her to move. She looked up and roared, "What are you all doing? Come and help! If you don't complete the mission, you'll all be punished!"
This voice sent a shiver through all the ghosts. Meanwhile, everyone in the living room looked at each other, not knowing what to do.
Roa smiled and muttered, "Planning to gang up on me? Let's try it!"
After saying this, he grinned, showing a ferocious smile.
His pale golden eyes became even more dazzling, and the blood in his body boiled. A violent aura emanated from Roa as he suddenly took a step forward.
The ground cracked, and a deep footprint was left behind.
Roa felt the energy flowing in the air and took a deep breath, absorbing all of it. As a large amount of oxygen entered his lungs, Roa couldn't effectively utilize this energy. It circulated in his body but couldn't be used properly.
Although it stayed in his flesh, most of it was expelled.
The energy merged with the oxygen in the air and finally integrated into Roa's flesh.
Roa now felt his heartbeat become stronger, and his blood and energy became more abundant. No, it wasn't just that—his entire body was enhanced.
Roa's first thought was, "Breathing technique."
Exhale, inhale.
Roa greedily sucked in the oxygen from the air. Between exhaling and inhaling, he could even see the mist in the air.
"Then, it's time to send you on your way."
Roa fiercely threw the fruit knife in his hand. The knife turned into a streak of light and in an instant pierced through a servant's abdomen, pinning her to the ground.
The servant looked at Roa in disbelief. She reached out to pull the knife from her abdomen but was surprised to find that the Sword had completely penetrated her body.
Xiao Die's head rolled out and fiercely collided with Roa. Roa expressionlessly kicked her head back into the room.
The head turned into a parabola and embedded itself in the wooden board again. Roa looked down at the red-clad female ghost struggling on the ground. The people around were completely frozen.
Due to the suddenness of the change, they didn't know how to react.
Roa spoke indifferently, "Aren't you leaving? Staying here to die?"
These words were like a spark hitting gunpowder. The crowd instantly erupted, and everyone rushed out of the house without regard for their dignity. Now, only Roa and the four female ghosts remained in the room.
The red-eyed female ghost struggled to get up from the ground. She looked at Roa with a gloomy expression and roared, "Attack together! He's just a human!"
Another girl in a kimono suddenly rushed out from behind Roa. She was the fourth ghost, who had been hiding in the shadows. She had noticed the commotion in the room earlier and, seeing that the red-clad woman and Xiao Die couldn't handle Roa, had been lurking in the shadows, waiting to strike Roa with a heavy blow.
In fact, her approach wasn't wrong, but unfortunately, she encountered Roa. Roa suddenly turned around, grabbed her right hand, which had turned into a Sword, and with a tremendous force, prevented her from moving forward no matter how hard she tried.
"What… what is this?" The female ghost showed a panicked expression. She couldn't understand why this human had more strength than a ghost.
Roa looked up, his golden pupils staring directly at her, and said, "Got you."
Suddenly, a tremendous force struck, and her vision spun. The maid's face was directly hit by Roa's fist. Her once delicate face was now disfigured, her cheekbone caved in, and her nose bridge collapsed. It was a miserable sight.
But even so, it wasn't over.
Roa kicked out, sending the maid to the ground. He then began to punch her left and right, his fists whistling through the air, "Ora ora ora," hitting her cheeks.
The force of the punches was immense, almost unbelievable. The maid was beaten without any ability to fight back. The tremendous force couldn't be dissipated.
Ghosts couldn't be killed. Even if their necks were cut, even if their heads were severed, even if their hearts were pierced.
They still wouldn't die. But that didn't mean they could defy physics. The powerful force impacted the maid's fragile nerves, and pain, long absent, took over her consciousness.
Roa's right hand raised high and then came down hard. With this punch, accompanied by a powerful force, the maid's head completely shattered, though her jaw continued to tremble, as if trying to say something.
Roa's series of actions happened quickly, almost within two or three breaths.
The red-clad woman stood up, her limbs on the ground. The collapsed part of her chest began to rapidly repair itself. She let out a beast-like roar at Roa and charged at him in an extremely bizarre posture.
Her speed was fast, even faster than the maid named Xiao Die earlier, but it was still not enough against Roa.
"Interesting."
Just as the claws were about to reach him, whether it was an illusion or not, the red-clad woman even heard the boy mutter this sentence.
Roa's hand grabbed her head and slammed it hard into the ground.
"Duang~"
The red-clad woman once again made intimate contact with the ground. Another ghost rushed at Roa, trying to bite him. Roa expressionlessly grabbed the red-clad woman's head and smashed it into the other ghost's head.
The sound of bones colliding and breaking echoed, but even so, the other ghost continued to struggle in Roa's hand.
Roa took a deep breath, and a large amount of oxygen entered his lungs again. Although he was still the slender and handsome boy, he now exuded a terrifying aura.
He slammed the ghost into the wall, walked to the fruit knife, picked it up, and said something that sent chills down the spines of the four ghosts.
"Indeed, the sword feels more comfortable."
The sound of the Sword cutting through flesh continued to echo. The cold glint of the Sword flashed in the silent night. Although it was just an ordinary fruit knife, it could easily pierce through the ghosts' skin, cutting into their flesh like tofu.
They wailed and mourned, but could only watch as their flesh was continuously cut.
Even though the cut parts of their flesh would quickly squirm and grow back, Roa's Sword was too fast.
The Sword God style was not just for show. Roa's own strength was almost at the level of a Sword King, and against these trash who weren't even at the level of intermediate swordsmen, it was naturally a one-sided beating.
He gathered the four corpses together, then took a red rope that had fallen from the ceiling and tied their heads together, hanging them under the central tree.
The red festive lanterns swayed in the wind. Roa indifferently looked at the four struggling heads and showed a sinister smile.
He bound the four headless corpses' hands and feet together. Roa's technique was excellent, using a tortoise shell binding—the kind that tightens the more they struggle. Whenever they showed signs of struggling or trying to escape, Roa would casually use a Sword God style move on them.
