Hyunwoo's Jealousy
As Hyunwoo watched Hana chat with Jaehyun, he unconsciously furrowed his brows. The slight smile on her lips, the warmth in her eyes… Just a few days ago, she had been so indifferent to him. And now, she was talking to another guy as if they were the only two people in the world.
Aerin leaned against the chair beside him, crossing her arms. Her gaze was fixed on Hyunwoo's face. "If you don't stop looking at her like that, everyone's going to notice," she muttered.
Hyunwoo raised an eyebrow and turned to her. "What are you talking about?"
Aerin tilted her head with a teasing smirk. "Are you really going to pretend you're not jealous?"
Hyunwoo sighed and leaned back in his chair. "Don't be ridiculous."
"Oh, really?" Aerin rolled her eyes. "Because it sure doesn't look that way to me."
Hyunwoo didn't respond. Because Aerin was right. Seeing Hana smile at someone else, give someone else her attention, filled him with an unsettling feeling.
Sensing his silence, Aerin pressed on. "If it bothers you this much, maybe you still have feelings for her. But then again, you're the one who let her go. Now you have to accept it, don't you?"
Hyunwoo tried to ignore her words, but the uneasiness inside him only grew stronger.
Especially when Hana suddenly laughed at something Jaehyun said.
A sharp wave of frustration washed over him.
And there was nothing he could do to stop it.
The Anger Inside Hyunwoo
Hyunwoo could no longer bear watching Hana and Jaehyun grow closer. He took a deep breath, tapping his finger against the table in irritation. "I need some air," he muttered before standing up.
Aerin rolled her eyes but said nothing. She could see exactly what was going on with him. Instead of pressing further, she decided to let him be.
Meanwhile, Hana continued her conversation with Jaehyun. "So, you really made a three-pointer at the last second in the basketball tournament?" she asked, a hint of admiration in her voice.
Jaehyun smiled and nodded. "Yeah, but it was pure luck. I just threw it, and somehow it went in. Even my teammates were shocked."
Hana let out a genuine laugh. "Sounds like a legendary moment!"
Hyunwoo clenched his jaw. That laugh. He missed it. That attention. He missed that too. But now, Hana's attention wasn't on him—it was on Jaehyun.
Aerin, noticing his reaction, tilted her head slightly as she studied him. "Jealousy doesn't suit you," she whispered.
Hyunwoo shot her a sharp look but didn't respond.
Across the room, Sera and Minjae were also caught up in their own world. Minjae handed Sera her drink, and she blushed slightly. "Thank you," she murmured.
Meanwhile, Dongwook and Eunwoo were lost in their conversation. The whole group seemed to be getting along effortlessly.
But in the middle of all this harmony, one person was miserable.
And that person was Hyunwoo.
The fact that Hana didn't even glance at him, didn't even seem to notice his absence—that was the hardest blow of all.
Wasn't he the one who had wanted her to move on?
Then why did he feel like he was the one losing now?
Hyunwoo's Jealousy Crisis
Hyunwoo stood under the streetlight outside, deep in thought. He was trying to suppress his frustration, but it wasn't working.
Hana laughing with Jaehyun, being close to him… Watching it had felt like a punch to the gut.
He was the one who broke things off, wasn't he? Hana wasn't supposed to care about him anymore. But why did it bother him so much that she actually didn't?
Just as he was trying to pull himself together, the café door swung open.
Jaehyun was stepping outside.
Hyunwoo immediately straightened.
When Jaehyun noticed him, he smiled slightly—but there was a subtle challenge in that smile.
"It's a bit chilly," Jaehyun said casually. "I guess I should give my jacket to Hana."
Hyunwoo's expression darkened.
"Hana doesn't get cold," he said firmly.
Jaehyun simply shrugged and stood near the entrance. "If you say so…"
Just as he was about to head back inside, he added,
"By the way, isn't it a little… strange? Acting like you've moved on, yet not taking your eyes off your ex for even a second?"
Hyunwoo's breath caught in his throat.
Jaehyun didn't even wait for a response—he just went back inside.
Hyunwoo clenched his jaw.
He could not just stand by and watch this guy get closer to Hana.
He was about to follow him back inside when he suddenly spotted Hana approaching the entrance.
Her expression was steady, completely unbothered. She didn't acknowledge Hyunwoo's presence—didn't even spare him a glance.
She walked right past him, heading straight for Jaehyun.
Hyunwoo's fingers curled into a fist. Almost to himself, he muttered, "This isn't over."
But the worst part?
Hana acted as if he truly didn't matter anymore.
And that was driving Hyunwoo insane.
The atmosphere in the café was slowly dissipating. Sera whispered something to Minjae with a slight smile as she slung her bag over her shoulder. Dongwook and Eunwoo were also getting ready to leave.
Hana picked up her coffee cup one last time, took another sip, and then stood up. "I'm heading out," she said calmly.
Jaehyun stood up as well, offering to walk with her. "Shall we walk together?" he asked naturally.
Hana gave a small nod. "Sure."
Hyunwoo watched them, the uneasiness inside him growing stronger. But this time, he didn't say anything—he just followed them with his eyes.
Aerin approached him and lightly tapped his shoulder. "Come on, let's drop the gloomy mood. We're heading home."
Hyunwoo snapped out of his thoughts at Aerin's words and nodded. As everyone slowly left the café, his gaze lingered on Hana and Jaehyun's retreating figures.
Tonight didn't end here.
Was he supposed to believe that Hana had completely forgotten about him?
Hyunwoo took a deep breath and walked his own way. But in his mind, only one thought echoed:
This wasn't over yet.
