SEPTEMBER 16TH, 2016. KAZUKI CITY.
The city was illuminated - thousands of street lights at every corner. There stood the tallest building in Kazuki City, the Inamis. Previously, it had been damaged by a large creature known as a Soulrend. It's said that these beings are conjurings of multiple vengeful souls, manipulated by the evil in their dark hearts.
To combat these malicious threats, the government had created a team who could combat these threats. In this world, humans had undergone a change of evolution after a being known as the "Sovereign" had come into contact with the world, effectively blessing them with these powers.
Currently, a horde of Soulrends were led by one of their leaders. Their name remained anonymous, but it was irrelevant - their strength was far more intimidating.
With their invasion of the human world, it was just the beginning.
Akami quickly sprung from the peak of the Inamis, swinging down as he rolled, his hair flowing in the wind. Fire spread viciously, the debris swirling across. These Soulrends had killed multiple people, which had led it to Code Black.
"You damn Soulrends…ALWAYS DESTROYING THINKING YOU HAVE A PRIMARY GOAL!!" Akami shouted, looking at the lump of garbage, where all of the Soulrends stayed. Then, large energy had arisen, standing on top of the heap.
"We do have a goal. Annihilation." A rather humanoid looking Soulrend had appeared with a more feminine appearance. Her eyes sparked purple, her skin grey like her heart. Akami looked at her with anger boiling. He quickly pulled out his sword, jumping to her.
There - the clash was born. The birth of battle. Akami quickly let go of his blade, vanishing in an instant. The woman looked around in complete confusion, not noticing that he was right behind her. Akami smirked, his fist charged with energy, hurling it towards her, sending her flying back.
"For somebody that wants to annihilate everything, YOU REALLY SUCK AT IT!" Akami shouted, quickly launching himself towards the woman once again, holding his hands on the ground, launching a kick directly at her before she could react fast enough to counter.
"YOU DAMN BRAT! HOW DARE YOU TREAT ME WITH THIS DISRESPECT!" The woman shouted after being launched into a building, an unseen energy pouring out of her surroundings, sending large hands towards Akami. Luckily, he had seen these and was able to react, dodging each attack with ease. He quickly jumped across buildings, dodging the onslaught of hands tracking him down.
"I can't get too reckless. Not until I manage to defeat her." Akami looked, looking back at the hand which slithered across his back. The woman had quickly gotten close to him, grabbing Akami by the neck and slamming him to the ground.
"You see that, you damn brat..?" The woman shouted, laughing maniacally, gripping Akami's throat with a strong tension. Akami tried releasing himself, but no matter his attempts, he couldn't get back up.
"YOU WILL NEVER BE A HERO! YOU WILL NEVER SAVE ANYBODY! LOOK AROUND YOU, AND TRY TO SAVE THEM AGAIN." The woman laughed, stabbing her hand into Akami's leg, causing him to scream, but was muffled.
Akami stared, looking at his leg. His body shivered, the woman eventually reaching closer to his face before holding her monstrous claws to his throat. "Do you have any last words, you damn brat..?" The woman cackled, staring at him.
"I have a final demand to make. I, AKAMI KURAKAMI SACRIFICE MY LIFE. ALL MY POWER SHALL GO TO KAIZEN KURAKAMI." He shouted as a orb of energy appeared, draining all of his energy, catching the woman offguard.
"NIHIL SHALL RISE AGAIN!" The woman slashed his chest wide open as the orb teleported away.
But with the orb's teleportation, it started. The chain of events had started to glow, and a hand had taken control. The last Kurakami felt a random surge in power, and he knew. The circumstances had changed. His heart had dropped.
"Akami…AKAMI...AKAMIIIII!!!!!!!" Kaizen shouted, his eyes starting to spark a bright yellow as he quickly ran out of the Estate, teleporting into the sky. With a single glance, he looked at the destroyed parts of Kazuki City, slamming his body into the Soulrend, holding onto her torso.
"YOU…KILLED MY BROTHER! I'LL KILL YOU FOR THAT!" Kaizen roared, holding her stomach tight, clenching with his hatred, ripping her entire body in half. He took a deep breath, looking at the rest of the Soulrends as his eyes bled red, exploding the entire trash heap.
"I can't…stay here.." Kaizen looked around, teleporting away. The blaze of the city had told it one thing – Soulrends were dangerous. But to the government, these heroes were even more of a threat. Beings that had the power to overthrow them? That was their biggest fear. People choosing to rebel or retaliate against the control they were under. Not being able to be puppets. That was their fear.
