Chapter 28 - Part 27:

Jinah: *She flinches, the ancient book slipped from her grasp. It lands on the floor with a dull thud, its pages rustling like whispers in the sudden silence.* I… I can't… it's…

Christopher's gaze falls on the book, its worn leather cover and strange symbols sending a shiver down his spine. He feels a growing sense of dread, a premonition of something terrible about to be revealed.

Christopher: *He picks up the book, tracing the unfamiliar script with his fingers. The phantom pain in his chest flares, a sharp, stabbing sensation.* What's this, Jinah? What's going on?

Jinah: *Tears well up in her eyes as she struggles to speak. The words tumble out in a rush, a torrent of unbelievable truths.* It's about you Christopher… and about Jin-Woo… it's about a soul swap… It's strangely called the same as the story you've came from… and it… it explains everything.

The kitchen, once a familiar haven of warmth and comfort, now feels like a suffocating prison. The ticking of the clock on the wall amplifies the silence between Jinah's broken sobs and Christopher's stunned silence.

Christopher: *He sinks into a chair, the book falling open in his lap. The words swim before his eyes, a dizzying blur of archaic script and fantastical concepts. Soul swaps… dark entities… realms colliding… borrowed time… It all sounds absurd, impossible. Yet, a chilling voice whispers in the back of is mind, telling him it's all true.* Soul… swap?

Jinah: *She nods, wiping her tears with the back of her hand. She explains how her brother, an avid reader of the book, often spoke about his character, admiring Christopher's strength and resilience. She explains how Jin-Woo, always believed the story to be more then just a story.* He always acted differently when he read it, saying how he could feel your pain.

A wave of nausea washes over Christopher. He thinks of Monja, his Monja. He remembers her distress, the phantom pain echoing her suffering. He thinks of his son, back in the house with Christine, and the growing resentment and fear inside him.

Christopher: *He clutches his chest, feeling a cold sweat drench his skin. He runs a hand through his hair, trying to grasp the enormity of the situation. His world tilts on its axis, the familiar reality shattering into a million pieces.* This… this can't be happening.

Jinah: *She kneels beside him, her hand resting gently on his arm. Her voice trembles with a mixture of fear and determination.* I know it's hard to believe… but we have to figure this out. For Jin-Woo… for you… for Monja!

The weight of the truth settles upon them, a heavy, suffocating blanket of disbelief and fear. The kitchen, once a place of comfort, now feels like the epicenter of a looming storm.

Christopher: *He stares at the ancient text, the strange symbols seeming to writhe and twist before his eyes. He thinks of Monja, of his son, of the life he's lost. He feels a flicker of anger, a surge of desperate resolve.* We need to find Jin-Woo and reverse the soul-swap.
