Primrose and the ladies spent time together for about two hours. Most of the time, it was Mirelle who kept the conversation going. She shared all sorts of gossip, talked about fashion, and even brought up Primrose's wedding ring again and again.
By midday, the sun was high, and the greenhouse felt so hot that Primrose just wanted to take off her gown and lie down. Finally, their tea party was over.
"I truly enjoyed our tea party," Primrose said as she rose from her chair, smiling at them. "Next time, I'll invite you all back to the palace. Maybe we can do something even more fun."
It was mostly just polite small talk. In truth, while Primrose was somewhat entertained by their presence, she was also exhausted from having to smile so much and from hearing so many not-so-nice comments from the Duchess.
Thankfully, Brielle was there to back her up, which kept Arabella from saying anything too harsh out loud.
