Chapter 14 - Chapter 13 - A New Perception

Sai awoke, feeling more rested than ever. As he rubbed his eyes, something caught his attention. His reflection in the polished mirror across the room revealed a strange sight—his irises shimmered with a faint golden glow. A surge of unfamiliar sensations filled his mind, and before he could process it, words appeared before his vision.

[Name: Sai]

[Race: Human]

[Power Level: Unawakened]

[Abilities: ???]

[Emotion Detection: Active]

[Level: 1]

[Strength: 12]

[Agility: 10]

[Intelligence: 15]

[Endurance: 10]

[Charisma: 3]

His heart raced as he stumbled back. The text faded as soon as it appeared, leaving him to ponder its meaning. Looking around, Sai is happy he got a bonus perk at last.

Excitement bubbled within him as he tested it on the bookshelves, the walls, and even his own clothes. The information appeared instantly, as though the very fabric of reality had become readable. But when the butler entered, Sai instinctively activated his ability.

[Race: Elf]

[Emotion: Neutral]

Before he could explore further, the elf butler helped him dress in fine robes and led him through the grand corridors of the estate.

The dining hall was vast, its walls adorned with intricate carvings and tapestries depicting ancient battles and ceremonies. At the head of the table sat the old dragon, her golden aura pulsing with a calm yet commanding presence. Sai immediately used his ability on her.

[Race: ???]

[Emotion: ???]

Confused, he turned his gaze to the others at the table and tested his sight once more.

[Race: Dragon]

[Emotion: Curious]

[Race: Dragon]

[Emotion: Skeptical]

His ability worked on them but only provided limited information. Frowning, he quickly masked his thoughts when Felynx chuckled.

"Stop scaring him," she said warmly. "Come, eat."

Sai hesitated but sat down, his awkward manners unnoticed or at least unmentioned. The conversation around him carried an air of authority, making him feel like an outsider. After breakfast, the butler led him to an enormous library.

The moment he stepped inside, his breath caught. Endless rows of towering bookshelves stretched into the distance, the scent of parchment and ink filling the air. Instinctively, he activated his ability again, focusing on a random book.

[Title: The Arcane Foundations]

[Content: A detailed study on the origins of magic and its applications.]

Excitement surged within him as he scanned more books, his ability revealing titles, authors, and summaries in an instant. As he wandered deeper, his mind buzzed with questions about the world, his new abilities, and the strange power levels he had seen. What did "Unawakened" mean? Was there a system governing this world?

Meanwhile, the old dragon Felynx conversed with the others in the next room.

"So, what do you think of him?" she asked.

One of the elders scoffed. "He looks weak. But there's something about him... a raw, untamed aura, like a beast unaware of its own strength. An unpolished diamond. If refined, he could outshine many. But I doubt he'll survive our training."

Felynx sighed, shaking her head. "My foolish son," she murmured. I remind you? He survived the Blackthorn Abyss for a month as a mere mortal even though he entered safe area no mortal can face the dangerous."

The room fell silent. Shock rippled across their faces as they exchanged wary glances.

Meanwhile, Sai had found a book titled History of Eryndor and settled into a plush chair, flipping through its pages.

Eryndor: A Realm of Legends

Eryndor, a vibrant and mystical planet, is said to be the origin of all life within its vast domains. The planet itself possesses a sentient will, shaping its lands and breathing life into its creations—the dragons, elves, dwarves, fairies, and humans. For centuries, these races lived in harmony, guided by the natural rhythms of the world.

The Age of Creation

In the beginning, Eryndor molded its surface with towering mountains, sprawling forests, and endless oceans, each imbued with its essence. The dragons, as the firstborn, served as the planet's guardians, maintaining balance. Other races soon followed, each entrusted with a role to sustain harmony. Magic coursed freely, interweaving all life with the will of the planet.

The Age of Ambition

As knowledge and power grew, so did the desire to transcend limits. Some of the mightiest dragons and gifted mortals sought to explore beyond Eryndor, venturing into the unknown cosmos in pursuit of greater truths. They vowed to return with newfound wisdom and strength.

But their absence left a void. Without their guidance, the races turned on one another. The elves, masters of magic, clashed with the dwarves, whose craftsmanship rivaled even divine artistry. The ambitious humans, ever adaptable, claimed vast lands, often bringing them into conflict with other races. Even the once-peaceful fairies chose sides. The harmony of old crumbled, giving way to war and distrust.

The Era of Renewal

Realizing the futility of endless conflict, the races sought peace. Treaties were forged, establishing a fragile truce. While magic waned, civilization flourished.

The dragons, now fewer in number, faded into legend, watching the world from the shadows. The old rivalries never truly vanished, but outright war became a relic of the past. Mortals turned their focus toward rebuilding and cooperation.

The Present Day

Eryndor stands at a crossroads. A planet of cautious peace, still subtly guided by its sentient essence. The lost ones who left to explore the universe remain absent, their fate unknown. Yet their legends endure, whispering of their eventual return. The world waits, balanced between honoring its past and forging its future.

Sai leaned back in his chair, absorbing the knowledge. He couldn't shake the feeling that something was missing. The history was grand, but something about it felt incomplete. What was it?

Determined to uncover more, he scoured the shelves for additional texts, particularly those that might reveal more about the customs and traditions of the realm. Hours turned into days, and soon, a week had passed. Though he had learned much, every answer seemed to raise more questions.

Most importantly, Sai had begun piecing together the hidden system governing power levels in this world. It appeared there were several tiers of strength, though the books were vague about their details. From what he gathered:

Power Levels:

Unawakened: Ordinary mortals with no access to true power.

Awakened: Individuals who have unlocked their potential, often through rigorous training or extreme circumstances.

Adept: Warriors and mages who have mastered their energy.

Sai began to absorb the knowledge very quickly and efficiently. A week passed, and while he had gained a lot of understanding, of the world he is living in.
