Lucien was excited to spend the day with her friends Sarah and Jenny. With the men away at work, they had the perfect opportunity to relax, gossip, and have some fun.
As they sat in the living room, sipping coffee and chatting, Sarah suddenly pulled out her phone and started scrolling through it.
"What's wrong?" Lucien asked, noticing the look of surprise on Sarah's face.
Sarah looked up, her eyes wide with excitement. "Girl, have you seen the news?" she asked, holding out her phone.
Lucien took the phone from Sarah and started scrolling through the headlines. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw the news about her wedding with Ace splashed all over the headlines.
"Ace and Lucien's Whirlwind Romance!" one headline read.
"Ace Off the Market: Business Tycoon Set to Tie the Knot!" another one exclaimed.
But it was the comments section that really caught Lucien's attention. There were hundreds of comments from women claiming to have had a crush on Ace, expressing their disappointment and heartbreak that he was now off the market.
Sarah continued scrolling through the comments, chuckling at the various reactions. "Wow, people are really invested in Ace's love life."
Lucien shook her head, laughing. "I know, right? I had no idea Ace was such a catch."
Jenny grinned mischievously. "Well, he is pretty great. But I'm glad he's off the market now."
Sarah looked up from her phone, her eyes sparkling with curiosity. "So, Lucien, now that you're Mrs. Ace, do you feel like you're under a microscope?"
Lucien thought for a moment before responding. "Honestly, it's a little surreal. I'm just a simple girl from a humble background, and now I'm married to this wealthy, influential man."
Jenny reached out and squeezed Lucien's hand reassuringly. "You're more than just a simple girl, Lucien. You're an amazing woman who deserves all the happiness in the world."
Lucien smiled, feeling grateful for her friends' support. "Thanks, guys. That means a lot coming from you two."
Lucien suddenly felt a pang of guilt as she realized that Alicia, her other close friend, had been left out of the loop. She quickly grabbed her phone and sent Alicia a text, asking her to join their video call.
Alicia's face appeared on the screen, and Lucien could immediately tell that something was off. Alicia looked sad and a bit hurt.
"Hey, guys," Alicia said, trying to sound cheerful. "What's going on?"
Lucien took a deep breath and launched into the story of her wedding to Ace. Alicia listened in stunned silence, her expression growing increasingly sad.
When Lucien finished, Alicia didn't say anything for a moment. Then, she spoke up, her voice trembling.
"Luce, why didn't you tell me about the wedding? I thought we were closer than that."
Lucien felt a pang of regret and apologized profusely. "Alicia, I'm so sorry. I should have told you. It all happened so fast, and I wasn't thinking."
Alicia sighed, looking hurt but also understanding. "I get it. But next time, please don't leave me out."
Lucien promised to do better in the future, and after some more conversation, Alicia's sadness began to lift.
"I'm coming to visit you guys next week," Alicia announced, a smile spreading across her face. "I want to meet Ace and give you a big hug."
Lucien's face lit up with excitement. "That sounds amazing! We can't wait to see you."
The three friends chatted for a bit longer, making plans for Alicia's visit and catching up on each other's lives.
