ALIA
"Rosario called," I told Carla putting a piece of the shrimp into my mouth.
Her expression shifted and her face turned cold as she stopped eating.
"Why?"
"He was upset about what you told Jane. He thinks you'll be a liability if you won't control your emotions."
She scoffed before putting down her fork and knife on the plate with a clink.
"Does he think I'm some amateur player? I know what I did and it won't be a problem. I don't even want to work with that bastard but I'm forced to. Because he's the one who can separate Jane from my son."
I put a reassuring hand on her hand and said,
"I know, Aunty. Even I don't want to work with him. I just hope Dom sees the benefits of marrying me." Making a sad face, I added, "And maybe he someday realizes how much I like him."
I stared at the distance and sensed Carla squeezing my hand gently.
"He will. One day. But for that, you need to be around him more. That Jane is always around him or he is around Jane."
