Chapter 10 - ACT 1.9: The White Room

Genesis was laid in the bed eating a portion of his lunch and breakfast brought to him by, Sephina and Lautaro. He gingerly ate the meals as his body was still aching. However despite all these factors showing he is clearly not fit to do any physical activity, he was still demanded to be brought to training.

He limped over to the training site where he was ordered to just watch them train and he could participate in the training if he wanted to. He did not want to. Time went off the leash as they kept preparing for the battle it was only going to take another 4 days of holding off from the other team and they would achieve victory and live to see the days ahead.

Genesis waited and waited for the training to come to a close and it did, it was still in the afternoon as the blue team sheathed their swords, unstrung their bows and placed their axes like chalices. Genesis almost gave off a smile before coming to his senses.

'No! I should not be smiling in a time like this, in a time where human is faced against human, this is a time of war I should not celebrate too early and I should not be happy in the act of war.'

Genesis wanted to deny the smile, but the more he denied the more it came to his mind, until he gave in and accepted that his new life had come. He should only be glad that it came this quickly. Genesis watched as the city he put his life on the line to defend, flourished, people were already celebrating victory. Genesis prayed that his bad luck and pride would not affect him as it did them and he prayed a prayer for the young children, that they would not become as obsessed with the sword as he is, obsession is a bad thing unless you have nothing else, that is when you throw your life away dedicating it to the single cause.

Last night, that was his time to throw his life away he was already on the stray path, the vessel just narrowed it until he could not turn around and he had to push through to become what he is now. He was like a cave diver, going through the most difficult situations, recklessly leaving everything he had grown to like behind just for a single cause.

The thought of it saddened and fascinated Genesis. He was saddened because obsession could take everything you love and turn it into a thing so wicked it corrupts your mind and leaves you always begging for more. Only those who have no regrets and absolutely nothing to lose must take it as a saving grace, a salvation of those who were left with nothing. It fascinated him because the thought of making something so lovely, so vile is an act that could only be performed by few. The thought of it made him more and more curious, until he stumbled upon it, his sword.

It was left beautifully under his bed, with minimal dust on it he wiped it off and unsheathed it. Oh how beautiful it was, it was completely mesmerizing. Its wooden hilt alluring and its silver skin shining. This was what he lived for all of it was his, all of it just for him. No one else would touch his sword no one else you please it like he did. In the instant it was like a switch of a light switch and his soul was replenished and a being with a divine soul would not be filled with avarice over something as minimal as a silver sword.

He decided to sheath the sword back his soul now fully saturated with new divine energy, the energy felt weaker but more grandiose. Before the divine energy was stored in a condensed manner as he only had a portion of his soul with him, now it was more continuous, instead of having a strong quality but little amount of divinity, he had an infinite flow of average potency and a massive amount of divinity. He even thought he could feel it in his sleep as it was always active and pumping divinity through him.

He felt more saturated. Instead of the divinity forming a lump in his core, it was being pumped throughout his entire body, albeit weaker than when it was only in his core, however still a lot more efficient than when it was just staying in one place.

This sudden surge in divinity made his body reproduce cells faster, new uninjured, healthier ones and he began to heal. He was in control of his whole body, his soul was like a puppeteer and Genesis was the strings, changing to control, amplify and grow different parts of his body. Genesis felt amazed only to find out when he tried it he was exhausted of his soul too fast and the amplification was not as much as he had hoped. He would rather let the divinity roam and change him passively than he micromanage everything, risk loosing his soul energy or his soul entirely and not get the desired effect.

As one could assume Genesis's excitement was quickly turned to dismay as his new powerup was much less a curse. He lay in his bed to let his body heal and he closed his eyes for a brief moment, he thought of what he would do if he won, he thought of a way back to the Earth but abandoned the idea because the Earth was well, abandoned there would be no place to go to, no one to meet and it would just be unbefitting for him.

Then he thought of embracing this new world and that was his only option to go out into the world and just live, Genesis never had any final ambitions, he hoped new minor accomplishments would help him find his main goal in life but it never did. He lay in his bed peacefully as if the entire population of the White Room were not at war. He thought if this world was all about evolution wasn't there a place for him to just stay there and live normally. His dreams were ruined by Kappa's words, even though he wanted to be safe he felt his search of ambition was not too far off and he did not just want to grow old and die accomplishing nothing in his life, he wanted to do something anything in his life, he would rather become a villain than do nothing in life.

Besides Genesis was always fueled by stimulation if he could not do anything that gave him a rush of joy in his life he would become hollow, for that reason Genesis hated repetitions. He knew how he wanted to end his journey and start but he never knew what he wanted his journey to be. Lost in his mind Genesis fell asleep as gracefully as an angel.

When Genesis was awake he saw the other team inside their fortress, roaming around like they owned the place. Genesis swiftly and nimbly unsheathed his sword, preparing to attack. He was surprisingly told to stand down by Jae. It is seemed as if the other team and the blue team were working together? For what reason, for what purpose? Genesis was informed by the closest civilian that they discovered a crack in the ground and they were performing an expedition on it.

Genesis was told that they were digging into the White Room itself. Genesis panicked at the knowledge fearing the Miasma of Malice might be used again. He unlinked from his divinity, his only shield against the soul maddening mist and he felt nothing it was as if the malice had turned off entirely. Genesis was perplexed.

'Why is the mist not coming?'

Genesis went over to his king asking why he was not awoken for the project and Jae said.

"You needed to get rest, after your big fight and the battle. So I gave the order for you to recover your energy, which it seems has taken shorter than expected. Is that not great?"

Genesis scoffed. Even if he was not at his best he should have still been able to organize troops and command where and when they should strike. Genesis went out of the fortress and almost bumped into a bed which seemed to only be a few meters away from the fortress's entrance. He scanned the bed and walked one way and did a full loop before finding an opening in between the beds. He entered the gap and marveled at the sight, it was an entire expedition the ground was now a sort of maroon and the underground was decorated with complicated, pathways, branches, tunnels, dead ends and crossroads.

Genesis could have never believed, that even with the help of the other team, they would have gotten this far. The ground was softer than Genesis thought it would be and it was moist, which was unpleasant, nevertheless Genesis pushed onwards.

Genesis spiraled down the man made entrance to the excavation's first branch with split into more and more discoveries and it amazed Genesis how a place so vile could have such a complicated mess of interconnected hallways, right under their feet. He watched as man and women, young and old used their weapons to carve out a path for themselves.

It was a wild guess but what if this underground mining system led to all their survival, but the blue team could not haste as they kept armed guards stationed around the baby at all times. Just for safety. Genesis continued to walk down the uneven, moist and soft ground. Genesis felt and heard the squelching from under his shoe, every step he took he made the noise. It was really annoying but eventually you would just have to get used to it.

While exploring the intricate makings of the White Room's underground layer, a specific group of people, with a swordsman, a bowman and a shield woman.

They had seen something dash across their vision, something white and fast. They kept going down the crossroad, the way on right being guarded by the bowman and shield woman and the way on the left being guarded by the swordsman.

A sound could be heard from the general direction of where the three of them were at. Genesis went to go investigate going on the direction of the swordsman, he heard something stepping he could also hear screams from the bowman and shield woman. He turned his head around to see an Agent gripping onto the ceiling with it's suction cups and tentacles. It lunged at Genesis with no regard for it's own safety.

Genesis quickly stole the sword from the man whose grip was lose and he stabbed the Agent in it's head.

Genesis was extremely confused he thought that they had dealt with the Agents before, and that all of them were exterminated like the pests they were.

Pestilence had fallen upon them once again and this time they knew nothing. The bowman ran to his king and informed him on the knowledge of the Agent.

Both kings decided to strategies and think about their options. It was then when the floor reached put and touched the baby, if not for the guards being on surveillance they would have never seen it, the emblem turned red and a guard reached put and cradled the baby, turning its mark back to the ardent blue.

The kings were confused, what had just happened. Hana, Genesis and Alto came together to think. It was then when Genesis revealed the strange message on the vessel's black armor. They thought about what's it could mean for the room to hate him and Genesis noticed the Agent charged directly for him and it didn't attack using its normal strategy it just tried to absorb him.

They all said it in synchronisation.

"Could the White Room be a... an animate object."

They did not want to be belive it but all the evidence pointed to it, the fact that when the floor touched the child it turned red, the message on the vessel's armor and the fact that the malice comes spewing out when the room is broken.

But they needed one final straw to prove it, Alto walked carefully to the baby and he placed his hand on it, it stayed the exact same color even though they were on different teams. It could only mean they were always on the same team and the real opponent was the White Room.

The White Room was a conniving beast that lured it's targets against themselves and they were in the beast's maw, the sick, lying and unholy beast's maw.

They were lambs ready to be devoured whole, the White Room was like a vulture it only scavenged that was the point of pitting us against each other, the vessel was supposed to be an exterminator to kill and deliver to the White Room.

This room was supposed to kill them all, but they had to find a way if they could just kill the beast they would survive, but they had no idea where it the beast they were so they had to go deeper into the layers of the terrible beast and find out.
