Rael tilted his head, puzzled. "...Who?"
"Alune," the Beast repeated. "It is she who gave you the mark, correct?"
"If you mean the Primordial Mark, then I'm not sure who gave it to me. I didn't get a name," Rael replied with a shrug.
"Hmm..." the Beast nodded. "I see. Thank you for the information. You may die now—"
"Just a moment." Rael cut in. "You gave me a quest. I need to find you, it says. That shit popped up out of nowhere, so you must know something about it, right?"
"I don't recall anything of the sort," the Beast replied flatly. "However, upon closer look, I can tell you're not exactly human, are you? A crystal being of sorts with limited potential—very amusing. But as you can assume, interrupting my slumber has placed you on the list of people I must devour."
The moment the Beast finished speaking, it suddenly lunged forward and grabbed Rael by the throat.
He tried his best to resist, but the pressure bearing down on him was simply too much.
