Chapter 62 - Chapter 62 – The Void Scripture

[The Jewel's Awakening]

As soon as Reyon reached near the gemstone, its glow intensified.

A strange hum vibrated through the air as the jewel, which looked like a dark purple crystal swirling with hints of black and blue, moved—as if it had been waiting for him.

"T-This one's different…" Reyon muttered.

Unlike the Jewel of Elise, this one didn't require any incantations, no insertion rituals. Instead, it automatically reshaped itself, forming into a perfect sphere, exactly the size needed to slot into the hole of the Ring of Ferica.

Click.

The gemstone locked in.

A sharp surge of power flooded through Reyon's body. He stumbled, eyes widening. A chilling wind raced across his mind—like icy knives stabbing through his skull.

Then…

Silence.

The corrupt mana that had been clawing at the edges of his consciousness… was gone.

Reyon collapsed to his knees, gasping for breath. His hands trembled slightly as the pain faded.

"...Haaah… haaah… finally…"

His head, once drowning in black whispers and chaos, was now clear. He could feel the difference. The oppressive pressure pressing against his brain had been completely wiped out.

Reyon took a deep breath, his palm resting gently on his forehead.

"This one… was much more dangerous," he mumbled, looking at the gemstone now embedded in his ring. "If I was even a few minutes late…"

He clenched his fist.

"I would've lost my sanity."

[Reflection]

He sat still for a few minutes, letting the remnants of mana wash through his system.

The black mana this time had been denser… thicker… more malicious than any other.

"…It's getting worse."

He looked up at the chamber's crystalline ceiling.

Even though the black mana had subsided… he could feel it. A lingering trace.

Some of it had already settled in his brain.

He tapped his temple with two fingers.

"…Tch."

"I've already risked it twice. Each time, the darkness seeped in a little more."

His voice echoed in the chamber.

"If I do this even once more…"

His lips curled into a bitter smirk.

"…I might not remain sane anymore."

The weight of that truth pressed down harder than any spell ever could.

"But…"

He looked at the gem again. Then toward the walls of the chamber.

"I don't think I'll have to take such risks anymore."

[The Revelation]

His eyes widened slightly as a new object materialized from the floor.

"A… scripture?"

A piece of aged parchment appeared mid-air, then floated gently into his hands. The edges were curled, and it was inked in symbols that seemed to shimmer faintly with mana residue.

"…This doesn't look like the book I read in Phoenix treasury."

He flipped the scripture slowly, scanning each page with narrowed eyes.

"Was it left here… in a rush?"

The writing was rough. Uneven.

But one thing was certain—his grandfather had written it.

And the symbol…

"Tau?" Reyon whispered.

At the top of the page, a symbol glowed softly:

τ

Unlike the others he had studied—like σ or £—this one had no aura of harmony. It felt chaotic. Violent. Unstable.

He kept reading.

"The concept… these formulas…"

Reyon's eyes trembled slightly.

"This is… too advanced."

Pages filled with dimensional calculations, advanced multi-vector layering theory, unknown notations. but what shocked him was summary

Even with all his recent growth, Reyon couldn't understand half of it.

"…I can't even see where to begin."

He slowly set the scripture aside.

"Not now. I'll come back to this later."

[A Familiar Book]

Another object appeared.

A book.

"…!"

Reyon's breath caught in his throat.

"This is…"

He grabbed it and flipped the pages instantly.

"…The same as the one in the Phoenix treasury."

But this one…

"This has the missing pages."

His hands shook slightly as he saw sketches of orbs… swirling voids… vector spirals.

And at the center of it all—one symbol stood out.

"Infinity…"

His voice trailed into silence.

Reyon read further.

The book detailed how this symbol wasn't just a spell—it was a principle.

With it, vectors could be aligned in such a way that surrounding mana was pulled into a loop—a continuous cycle, endlessly feeding itself.

"This… this is…"

He leaned forward, reading faster.

"When rotated continuously, it forms a concentration point. A knot in space… no, a tear."

The more he read, the more overwhelmed he felt.

"This hole… isn't just symbolic. It actually forms in space."

The dimension splits. Space folds. A void forms at the center of the rotation.

That void…

"It's the orb…"

The same orb his grandfather's image had used. The same one that had swallowed his strongest spell as if it was nothing.

"It doesn't reflect or deflect mana. It devours it."

Reyon sat still, the weight of knowledge crushing his mind.

"The more mana I feed into it, the larger the void becomes…"

He flipped another page.

"…The more mastery I have over vectors, the more flexible the orb will be."

It would even allow for size manipulation. Condensed orbs. Expanding voids. Even combining them to form multiple absorption zones.

"…Just reading this… my head aches."

He pressed two fingers against his temple.

"I… can't leave yet."

" In summary his grandfather has mentioned i didn't want to leave these two symbols tau can twist the time itself and infinity controls space and dimensions even mastering one of these symbols give strength that surpasses 9th circle so i was hesitant but in my last moments due to my mistake an entity of past that was said to be strongest species would be revived in future and only someone who masters one of these spells can take on that monster if you can master 50% of infinity come here again and you would find the secret behind it, right now just focus on improving"

Reyon can somewhat interpret the message this obviously points towards the comeback of dragons looks like my grandfather's disappearance is related to it but thinking wont change anything i should first focus on what is in front of me.

His eyes narrowed with new resolve.

"I need to learn this."

The moment he remembers the black dragon and his subordinate dragon he know

He wouldn't stand a chance.

Reyon stood up, dusted off his robes, and looked at the open book in front of him.

"I won't leave this place until I can at least cast Void once."

[He took a step forward.]

[Then another.]

[And began his training.]

The frozen floor of the chamber was soon filled with magic arrays, vector diagrams, and endless echoes of whispered calculations.

And the only sound that remained for hours to come was the flicker of mana, and the voice of a boy who had once been broken—

Now rebuilding himself in the image of a legend.
