Side Story 1.1: System Centuury - Manager Dorothy & Admin Magnus
---
Ten Years Ago…
[System: Manager Dorothy]
A wistful sigh escaped Dorothy's lips as she gazed into the infinite void of their jurisdiction. "I hope I'd also get my own Prospect one day," she murmured, the loneliness of millennia evident in her voice.
[DING!]
**"SOUL 777-777 HAS BEEN TRANSPORTED TO SYSTEM CENTURY..."**
The notification reverberated through the ethereal space, causing Dorothy to straighten her incorporeal form in surprise.

The Gods of Centuury
Brilliant light fractured the dimensional boundaries as the Gods materialized before them. Their voices resonated in perfect harmony, carrying the weight of cosmic authority.
"DOROTHY & MAGNUS, HEED OUR CALL. THE GRAND COUNCIL HAS DECIDED TO AWARD THIS SYSTEM WITH ITS FIRST PROSPECT. WE HAVE A NEW UNFORTUNATE SOUL THAT HAS EXPIRED."
Stunned silence followed. Dorothy and Magnus exchanged glances, their forms shimmering with barely contained excitement.
[System: Manager Dorothy]
"Yes... YES! Of course, Your Grace!" Dorothy bowed deeply, her essence pulsating with joy. "Thank you for this... opportunity..."
Before she could finish expressing her gratitude, the Gods vanished—arriving and departing in less than a heartbeat.
[System: Administrator Magnus]
"And... they're gone! Poof." Magnus's tone carried both amusement and reverence. He turned to Dorothy, his essence brightening. "This looks like something we could finally pass our time with."
He circled the soul data packet hovering between them, examining it from all angles. "This system has been too quiet for so long. We've waited several millennia for just one soul to be given to us as a Prospect." His voice rose with excitement. "But not anymore! Weeehooo!"
[System: Manager Dorothy]
"So what should we do with this soul, Sir Administrator?" Dorothy approached the pulsing data sphere cautiously, as if afraid it might disappear.
[System: Administrator Dorothy]
Magnus projected a holographic interface, scrolling through the information packet. "According to the records the Gods provided, Soul 777-777 of Aerthe System died in an unfortunate accident that wasn't even meant for him!"
His voice softened with genuine sympathy. "To compensate, Aerthe's Administrator John and his previous Manager Kimmy used one of their special requests to transfer Soul 777-777."
Magnus continued reviewing the data. "After much deliberation, the Grand Council of Gods approved the transfer. Unfortunately for this soul, most of the major systems are too full to compensate appropriately."
His tone became slightly apologetic. "So instead, he was sent here to us—the most desolate and underpowered system among the billions of galaxies that the Grand Council controls."
[System: Manager Dorothy]
"Indeed, how unfortunate for him," Dorothy murmured, studying the soul's essence patterns. "Given a second chance at a new life here in the most brutal system in the entire cosmic network."
She glanced up at Magnus. "So what compensation did they offer this poor soul for his troubles?"
[System: Admin Magnus]
"The Gods gave him a choice—to be reborn with his memories intact from his previous life or to start with a blank slate."
[System: Manager Dorothy]
"And what did he choose in the end?"
[System: Admin Magnus]
"He chose to be reborn with a blank slate," Magnus replied, "meaning he'd begin anew as a 'baby goo goo gaa gaa,' as they say."
His interface expanded, revealing complex coding structures. "But he requested something special—he wanted to incorporate a game-like system for himself. Apparently, it was his dream to exist in such a world."
Magnus chuckled. "He got that idea from Aerthe's many fantasy stories. But alas, Aerthe—the original system—has no advanced concepts incorporated in its system data. No magic, no levels, nothing of the sort."
He shook his head in mock disappointment. "Seriously, they need to upgrade that system soon; it's as old as time itself!"
[System: Manager Dorothy]
"I see." Dorothy nodded, understanding the magnitude of their task.
[System: Admin Magnus]
"We better get to work on this new system update since it's quite a large file."
The interface between them expanded, code streams beginning to flow as the implementation began.
