Chapter 1 - Chapter 1 : IN THE ICE

Arctic Circle — S.H.I.E.L.D. Excavation Site

The wind howled across the frozen wasteland as agents in black huddled near the excavation pit. Beneath layers of ice, they'd unearthed two things: a shield embedded in frost and a figure long thought lost to time.

"Sir," the lead operative reported, voice crackling through the comms, "we've located Captain Rogers… and something else."

Nick Fury's voice answered sharply from the mobile HQ."Define 'something else.'"

"A body, sir. Human male. Unknown origin. Still intact. We're not sure if he's alive or dead."

Fury paused. "Extract him. I want both bodies sent in immediately."

Moments later, the figure was transported into a heated containment unit. Doctors and specialists gathered around as the ice melted away, revealing a young man, strangely preserved, his features peaceful, like someone merely asleep.

"Director Fury," a S.H.I.E.L.D. scientist began, reviewing the biometric data. "He's human… or at least his physiology is. But his survival mechanism doesn't make sense."

"Explain."

"It resembles bacterial sporulation. His body slowed down, hardened, preserved itself—almost like hibernation, but beyond anything humans can naturally do."

"Is he a mutant?"

"We checked. No X-gene. No registration. No records. It's like he never existed."

Fury narrowed his one eye. "Keep Captain Rogers frozen. But this one… wake him up. Let's see what kind of ghost we just dug up."

Inside Alex's Mind

Everything was dark.Weightless.Silent.

Am I dead? A spark flickered in the void. Then—

[You have crossed the barrier between worlds. As a result, a power befitting the traveler shall awaken.][The X-trix has been awakened.]

"What...?" Alex's voice echoed in the dark, uncertain and hoarse.

[I am the artificial intelligence bound to the X-trix.]

"The… what now?"

[A level-30 alien device.which currently appears as a tattoo on the back of your hand . You may consider me an advanced version of the Omnitrix, designed for multiversal traversal and adaptation. Originally loaded with vast alien DNA.]

Alex blinked through the void. "Wait… Omnitrix? Like… Ben 10?"

[Affirmative. However, the DNA samples stored within the X-trix were mostly lost during dimensional transfer.]

"You mean I lost all my aliens?!"

[Except for one: the ultimate form of an alien you once knew as The Worst.]

"…You're telling me The Worst saved me?"

[Correct. Its abilities include surviving extreme conditions—freezing, heat, and vacuum. During the crossing, its traits activated automatically, allowing your body to enter a protective stasis.]

Alex chuckled, despite himself. "Okay, that's actually kind of badass."

[Unfortunately, while active, the form renders you unconscious and immobile, similar to how bacteria form spores to survive.]

His smile vanished. "…That's… less cool."

[Hence the name: The Worst.]

Alex sighed. "Man, this is going to be weird."

S.H.I.E.L.D. Medical Bay — Moments Later

A heart monitor beeped faster. Eyes fluttered open.

"He's waking up!" a doctor shouted.

Alex gasped, coughing violently as the cold, recycled air filled his lungs. Hands held him down gently as he sat up, trembling, confused. Bright lights burned his vision.

The door hissed open. Nick Fury entered the room, calm and composed, his long coat trailing behind him.

"Well," Fury said, arms folded. "Good morning, stranger."

Alex blinked at him. "Where… am I?"

"The Arctic. Somewhere you're not supposed to be. And yet, here you are," Fury replied.

"What happened to me?"

"We were hoping you could tell us. You've got no ID, no fingerprint match, no history. As far as the world's concerned… You don't exist."

Looking at the bold pirate in front, Alex makes a guess

'MARVEL'

[Welcome to your new reality, Alex Morningstar.]

Alex slowly leaned back, absorbing it all.

'…Of course. Why wouldn't I wake up in a spy base in a frozen wasteland with alien tech in my head?'
