The capital Aurora. The name sounded poetic, like something out of a bard's tale, but after days of walking on blistered feet and sleeping on hard ground, I wasn't in the mood for poetry. The city rose ahead of us, its high stone walls gleaming under the afternoon sun, banners fluttering in the breeze. It should've been a welcome sight. Instead, my stomach twisted.
Igami walked beside me, her steps light, as if the journey had been nothing more than an afternoon stroll. She hummed softly under her breath, the way she always did when she was worried by something...probably the way I kept glaring at my own aching legs.
As we neared the gate, two guards in polished breastplates stepped forward, blocking our path. The taller one, a man with a scar running down his cheekbone, eyed us with the kind of bored suspicion reserved for travelers who looked as ragged as I felt.
"Hold" he said, holding up a hand. "Identification and business here."
I opened my mouth, but before I could fumble for an excuse, Igami tilted her head, her smile deepening.
"Oh" she said, almost apologetically, "I'm afraid we don't have any."
The guard's expression darkened. "Then you don't enter."
For a heartbeat, nothing happened. Then Igami lifted her hand just slightly, like she was reaching to brush a strand of hair from her face. The air between her fingers shimmered, and the guard's breath hitched. Frost spiderwebbed across his armor, his fingers locking around the hilt of his sword as ice crawled up his arms, his neck, his face.
The second guard barely had time to shout before the cold snapped around him too, freezing the curse on his lips.
I stared at them, smiling a little bit. They weren't dead, just trapped, their eyes wide and unblinking behind the ice. Igami sighed, as if mildly disappointed.
"They could have just let us through" she murmured.
I look at her. "Yeah that would be smarter"
She glanced at me, her light blue eyes knowing. "Does it bother you, my master"
I looked back at the frozen guards. One of them still had a coin pouch half-open at his belt probably his pay for the day. Maybe he had a family waiting for him. Maybe he was just some poor bastard trying to do his job.
"No" I muttered.
Igami didn't answer. She just stepped past the ice-encased men, Returning to her humming.
After a second, I followed I couldn't help but listen to the ice crack and explode in a million pieces, Igami has killed 2 humans and yet... i didn't feel anything as if it was common business, Igami occasionally looks back at me to see if I'm good.
After stepping through the imposing iron-wrought gate, my breath catches in my throat as I'm met with the breathtaking sight of a vast, sprawling city that stretches as far as the eye can see. The architecture is distinctly medieval, towering stone walls, grand cobblestone streets, and intricately designed buildings with wooden beams and steep, tiled roofs. yet there's an undeniable majesty to it all. The city hums with life; merchants call out from their stalls, the scent of roasted meats and fresh bread wafts through the air, and the distant sound of a lute being played adds a melodic charm to the atmosphere. Despite its old-world aesthetic, the sheer grandeur of the place is almost overwhelming, everywhere I look, there are ornate carvings, colorful banners fluttering in the breeze, and bustling crowds moving with purpose.
Igami, ever vigilant, wastes no time scanning our surroundings, her sharp eyes darting from one building to another in search of shelter. After a few moments of careful observation, she turns to me with a respectful bow. "Master, I have located an inn" she announces, though her tone carries a hint of reluctance. "It is... not befitting of your esteemed presence, but given our circumstances, it shall suffice for the time being."
I give her a simple nod of acknowledgment, trusting her judgment, and without another word, she leads the way. The streets grow narrower as we venture deeper into the city, the towering buildings casting long shadows that swallow the fading daylight. Eventually, we arrive at a dimly lit alleyway where a modest, somewhat weathered inn stands tucked between two larger structures. The wooden sign above the door creaks faintly in the wind, its faded emblem barely legible.
Igami pauses, turning to me with an expectant gaze. "So, Master" she begins, her voice low and measured, "how many days do you anticipate we will be staying here?"
I bring my hand to my chin, stroking it thoughtfully as I consider the question. "I'm not entirely sure yet" I admit after a moment. "Perhaps it's best if we pay per day rather than committing to a longer stay upfront."
She dips her head in agreement then does something that immediately captures my full attention. With a fluid motion, she raises her hand, and the air in front of her ripples unnaturally. A small, inky-black portal materializes out of nowhere, its edges crackling with faint, otherworldly energy. Without hesitation, she plunges her hand inside, rummaging briefly before withdrawing a hefty pouch that jingles unmistakably with the weight of gold coins.
My eyes widen slightly at the sight. The way she effortlessly accesses what must be some kind of extradimensional storage reminds me of Overlord—specifically, Momonga's use of a dimensional bag or inventory. The mechanics seem similar: a pocket space disconnected from reality, allowing instant retrieval of stored items. 'Does hers function the same way?' I wonder.
Igami, seemingly unaware of my silent musings, hands me the pouch with practiced ease. "Will this suffice for now, Master?" she asks, her tone deferential yet confident.
I weigh the pouch in my palm, feeling the satisfying heft of the coins within, and offer her a small, approving smile. "Yes, this will do nicely."

Smaller chapter but I just wanna say that I changed somethings
For example now the divine maids, which Igami is part of are now elemental instead of a color, that makes everything easier
So her supreme ability is called : Überragende Fähigkeit! Eiskönigin! (Supreme ability! Ice Queen; she usually activates it by just saying Eiskönigin)
It turns her into an absolute destroyer but whatever, as you guys may notice, Igami is not against killing people in the sake of the grandmaster (aka our MC)
And no, the mc is not weak or anything, he just don't need to fight anything yet.
Another change is that our MC will kinda of substitute the mc of the world he finds himself in, so in bleach we have Ichigo then he is going to be removed and mc will take Ichigo place completely, our MC does not have any type of limitations to his magic, not even cooldown, he can literally spam divine tier magic for all I know lol
Also, I will reinforce something : Igami and any other of grandmaster summons will kill and sometimes be extremely violent with it so be warned.
Also for the sake of the story I greatly buffed some enemys and main villains so the grandmaster actually has something to punch.
Orihime, rangiku, tier Harribel and Nemu need to put my head between their breasts...
