Chapter 42 - Chapter 42: Magical Exchange

Mei Magogoko was an ordinary mage player in Sakura Island's No. 6 Novice Village.

In real life, she was the owner of a hostess club—a woman of both beauty and cunning. Within just half a day, she had used her "front headlights" and "rear tail lights" to charm a group of male players, while her sweet-talking and manipulative demeanor won her the admiration of many female players.

As for those who didn't align with her interests, she skillfully marginalized them into obscurity.

Eventually, she established a guild called the Ishii Society, becoming the undisputed leader of Sakura Island's No. 6 Novice Village.

After securing her position as the village ruler, Mei discovered she had unlocked some new privileges:

[Position: Village Chief] All attributes increased by 10%.

[Village Creation Privilege] Lead 15,000 players to purchase a Village Creation Token and unlock the position of Town Mayor.

[Player Representative] Permission to influence storyline choices.

With her sharp mind, Mei quickly deduced the intentions of the game's creators.

It was evident that they wanted players to compete against one another, selecting the strongest leaders through these conflicts. Naturally, such leaders would enjoy more resources and power, enabling them to better invade the world.

Whether this world was destroyed or not was of no concern to Mei. What mattered to her was the profit she could extract from it.

As she idly reminisced about the hosts at her club, preparing to indulge herself before going to sleep, the system notification suddenly rang out:

[Attention! NPC Mesent has entered the range of your Novice Village.]

[You have three choices:]

[Option 1: Kill NPC Mesent, take over his important world quest, and earn a massive amount of Invasion Points upon completion.]

[Option 2: Assist NPC Mesent in completing the important world quest, and earn Invasion Points based on your contribution.]

[Option 3: Do not participate in the world quest.]

As the system notification ended, Mei looked out of her window and saw a heavily armed army marching into the village square.

At the forefront was a man with sharp, triangular eyes, a bulbous red nose, and a neatly groomed mustache resembling a spring roll. He was clad in a flamboyant red robe with gold trim, riding atop a tall steed.

[Mesent - Grand Mage - Level 29 (Tier 3)]

Mei's eyes lit up. An opportunity had presented itself.

Dressed in a thin, sheer nightgown, she swayed her hips gracefully like a water snake and opened the door to greet him.

"Esteemed sir, I am the village chief of this humble place. Welcome to our village," she said in a soft, welcoming tone.

As Mei spoke, all the players in Sakura Island's No. 6 Novice Village found themselves unable to speak or move. They could only slightly adjust their camera angles, as if they had entered a cutscene.

"You are the village chief?" Mesent's gaze fell on Mei, and he felt a stir in his heart. His eyes glinted with a lecherous light.

The woman before him was dressed in a black, translucent nightgown he had never seen before. Her fair, delicate skin was faintly visible, and her slender waist seemed easy to grasp.

Her demeanor was respectful, almost reverent, with an air of admiration. Her submissive posture struck a chord deep within Mesent's heart.

Mesent's eyes sparkled with desire, and he thought to himself, "Who cares about Queen Anrius? This is the real treasure!"

Mei, who had been observing Mesent's wolfish gaze, noticed his reaction but remained unfazed. Instead, she gave a charming smile, bending even lower to reveal more of her snowy chest.

"Yes, esteemed sir, I am the village chief, Mei Magogoko. If you have any needs, just let me know. I will do my best to satisfy you~"

Mei's words made Mesent's heart itch. He wanted nothing more than to drag this beauty into a room and "discuss" magical theories.

However, as a Grand Mage, he still harbored some caution. He wouldn't let himself be blinded by a little beauty.

He began to carefully observe the village's surroundings.

The houses were neat and clean, seemingly newly built. The roads were wide but lacked planning, typical of an unorganized village.

The villagers, though curious, stood silently in place. Apart from their lack of fear and the fact that most of them were equipped, everything seemed normal.

They didn't quite look like people from this kingdom.

With this thought, Mesent asked with suspicion, "Where are you all from? Why did you build a village here? You must know that this is a dangerous wilderness, teeming with wild beasts. Establishing a village here is very risky."

Hearing Mesent's probing question, Mei put on a tearful expression, her eyes brimming with sorrow as she sobbed:

"Esteemed sir, I... I am the daughter of immigrants from a distant island. I led a caravan here to trade, but we unfortunately encountered a shipwreck. All our goods were lost."

"Now, only the survivors from the ship remain. We had nowhere else to go, so we temporarily built this village."

"I know this place is dangerous, but we are helpless. What else could we do?" she cried, her voice trembling.

As she spoke, she approached Mesent's horse and clung to his leg, sobbing pitifully.

Feeling the soft, smooth touch on his leg, Mesent couldn't resist. He became visibly excited. Through the contact, he also sensed the magical energy within this woman—just a lowly Mage Apprentice.

What was there to worry about?

If even the village chief was so weak, how strong could the other villagers be?

He had an entire army, including knights.

With this thought, Mesent dropped his pretense. He dismounted and pulled Mei's voluptuous body into his arms, his rough hands rudely caressing her delicate back as he comforted her:

"Ah, don't cry. The Goddess of Fortune doesn't always favor everyone. It's normal to encounter one or two accidents in life."

"Today, I happened to pass by and thought of resting here for the night after a long journey. Meeting a beautiful lady like you is my good fortune~ Hehehe."

As Mesent's hands grew bolder, Mei remained pliant in his arms, her expression seductive. She bit her red lips and murmured coquettishly:

"Esteemed Grand Mage, it is my honor to have you rest in our humble village~"

"Hehehe..."

Mesent's heart soared. The woman before him was a true gem, far better than the "nightingales" in the capital's taverns—neither greasy nor overbearing, but utterly enchanting.

And most importantly, her voice was music to his ears.

"My dear, I didn't expect you to be a Mage Apprentice. Meeting me today is your lucky day. I am a Tier 3 Grand Mage. If you have any questions about magic, feel free to ask."

Hearing this, Mei's eyes lit up with just the right amount of surprise and admiration. She clapped her hands and said coyly:

"Oh~ You are truly amazing. I do have some questions about magic. Would you like to come to my room so we can have a proper discussion?"

"Oh~ It would be my pleasure, my beautiful lady. Please, lead the way. I will answer all your questions~" Mesent replied with a sly grin. """
